Zodiac Snake (Yin Mang)
6th General of the Zodiac
Info:
Zodiac Snake or Yin Mang was the sixth to win the Zodiac Race. He was trailing behind his father within the river, when the Jade Emperor asked Dragon for clarification they were accepted as Zodiacs as father and son.
Role in the Celestial Realm:
-His main role alongside the rest of the Zodiac is to weave/write the passage of destiny, ensuring that certain events come to pass in a predetermined cycle so that Nuwa would be ready for the End of the Previous Cycle unto the Next.
-His main role is the outcome of Secrets. He decides which secrets are best hidden and lost to time or revealed as karma. He decides the outcome of when these secrets are revealed to ensure there is no conflict that ends the Cycle too early or too late… (Then how come Xiangliu was able to…?)
-As for deciding Individual Fates, Zodiac Snake can only bless and control the paths of Individual Humans if they were born on the Year of the Snake, which goes the same with the rest of the Zodiacs.
-If not tending to his duties as a Zodiac he maintains his role as the Keeper of Secrets/Forbidden Knowledge.
-Snake hides all the knowledge never meant to be told. While some Celestials believe they know the Celestial Realm to a tea, it is Snake who holds all the knowledge and secrets of the universe and guards them. Whether it be on The Mortal Realm or Celestial Realm he knows all the secrets that exist…
-As such he actually doesn’t have anyone working under him, neither his Constellations nor Celestials have the full picture of what knowledge he hides. They think he gives them all the information but in reality he hides more than he gives.
-Zodiac Snake is always seen beside his father Dragon, so they always show up to every meeting when he is around, he usually works as The Scribe writing down the events and meetings that happened as it happened. As well as record any secret meetings between Dragon and The Jade Emperor.
-Snake has a secret area that’s almost like a library of information on all the Secrets of the world that no one knows how to get to, knows how to find and knows how to open. It is incredibly hidden in his domain and only Snake has access to this area.
-When not busy with these two roles he tends to be seen doing paperwork. Physical, hard copy, he has a notable dislike for digital paperwork…
He doesn’t hate technology, he hates digital paperwork…for some reason…
Personal Info:
-Zodiac Snake is introverted, so he likes keeping secrets unless absolutely necessary. However he doesn’t like that he can’t view the secrets of the Zodiac…especially Monkey.
-His district is…slightly chill actually, the Cons in his district live a simple life taking care of the Nature around them. And though their Zodiac doesn’t mind a few technology they still keep a limit to how much technological advancements they use. Technically speaking Snake’s district is mostly forest. It’s healthy too, water is clean and the gardens are free of infection… (No this is not a reference to the Garden of Eden that’s an entirely different religion)
-Snake isn’t really social, but he’s not socially awkward…he just prefers not to talk to people he doesn’t know. Even then he’s not comfortable talking to people he’s not close to.
-Hates Li Jing.
-Did I mention he hates Li Jing?
-Out of all the characters I’m surprised I made him without Daddy Issues, Dragon is a damn good father. So he’s basically the epitome of fatherhood for Snake.
-Snake likes to make origami in his free time.
-He’s actually not as strict as his Dad, he’s very considerate of his Cons, however due to his protectiveness for his Cons almost none of the Snake Cons have assignments.
-Oddly enough he also doesn’t agree with Goat, but he also thinks little of her. He doesn’t mean to be disrespectful but he just thinks that Goat is too naive.
-Favors Nezha, a little bit of a fun fact, all the Zodiacs knew Nezha as a child so they mainly took interest in him. (Mostly because it’s rare to see a Celestial like Nezha) Snake is one of the few people that played with him as a kid.
-Gave Nezha the two golden snakes as pets.
-Nezha gave him the make up on his forehead.
-Like how Snake Zodiac is secretive barely anyone knows anything about him… (Even I don’t know what else to put)
-He knows how to lie, in fact he and Monkey are at odds with each other despite both of them having some level of respect for one another.
-Snake is as good at tricks as Monkey, if both were to have a battle of wits it’ll go on for eternity.
-Snake actually modified his domain to make it easier to hide, just in case any of the Zodiacs were in danger and need somewhere to camouflage or hide.
-His Constellations are made out of Trees hand-picked by him. Considerably enough Snake has a collection of Branches from every tree in the world in his office…why does he like trees? I don’t know. (Once again this is not a Garden of Eden Reference)
-He’s really protective of his cons, to the point that only few know of the realms outside the Celestial Realm. Very few to almost none at all have assignments, they learn to fight and serve but other than that? Nope.

Zodiac Dragon or Chen Mu
5th General of the Zodiacs
Info:
Zodiac Dragon or Chen Mu was the 5th to win the Zodiac Race. Zodiac Dragon only came on 5th place because he was busy doing the divine duties assigned to him by Nuwa upon creation, wherein he helped bring rain to mortals and even helped Rabbit who was almost drowning by the river. He was held back even more because he wanted to wait for his son Snake.
Role in the Celestial Realm
-His main role alongside the rest of the Zodiac is to weave/write the passage of destiny, ensuring that certain events come to pass in a predetermined cycle so that Nuwa would be ready for the End of the Previous Cycle unto the Next.
-His main role is weaving the Political Decisions made by various leaders throughout the ages, and what laws must be passed in order for the Great Cycle to continue as usual. Though Rat usually helps in this case, Rat’s role in also handling the Economy and War of humanity gives him a bit of a migraine so half of those fates are transferred to Dragon. (Which explains why some people make good decisions and some people don’t.)
-As for deciding Individual Fates, Zodiac Dragon can only bless and control the paths of Individual Humans if they were born on the Year of the Dragon, which goes the same with the rest of the Zodiacs. Yada Yada you’ve heard this before…
-If not tending to his duties as a Zodiac he usually tends to his duties as a Celestial Governor and is usually the representative of the Zodiacs when Rat isn’t around or a representative of the Celestial Realm if Celestials like Li Jing, Jade Emperor or Erlang cannot be present.
Often times he’s called to stand-in in meetings and despite being just a stand in he actually gives great political advice and support so no one questions when he is present or objects to certain decisions.
-Most Celestials under him handle the Law and Politics in the Celestial Realm. They keep tabs on what has been passed, what rules and regulations must be followed, Minor Offenses, Major Offenses etc.
-He also helps with each of the Four Major Dragons’ political discussions with each other. Trying his best to keep some of their rules separate from the Celestial Realm and maintain balance between the Realms…
-When not busy with his two roles he’s usually doing literally anything else besides paperwork. Going on vacation with his son, occasionally drinking with Ox and Rat, checking on Rabbit, scolding Monkey, etc etc my guy is busy as hell.
Personal Info:
-Acts as the Leader of the Zodiacs because no one takes Rat seriously. Most of the time he is the main speaker for the Zodiacs themselves. Often attending meetings and trials in Rat’s place, though Rat insists on being a major player in the Zodiacs there are times where Rat gets sick of all the looks and comments that he looks ‘cute’ so he decides to swap out for Dragon.
-Is close with almost all the Zodiacs. With the exception of Dog and Goat, Zodiac Dragon is more stoic and stricter than Rat so it clashes with Goat and Dog’s compassionate hearts. So occasionally there’s disagreement between them.
-Surprisingly enough, despite his exterior behavior, Zodiac Dragon does not bear ill will towards Monkey. Rather they see Monkey like some kind of Jester of sorts.
-He spends most of his free time with his son, Snake, and sometimes ends up as a comforter when Snake is in a lot of stress as it is…
-He actually chose to have his lower half more Dragon-like so that Snake doesn’t feel left out. Snake doesn’t know how to walk with legs so Snake usually has a lower body of a snake. Dragon soon imitates Snake’s form to further their familial connection and to ensure his son doesn’t feel out of place.
-Sometimes gains habits from the other Zodiacs…like a bad back.
-His mustache is permanently floating, no one knows why though. That was a thing the Jade Emperor made it do…
Still no one knows why though.
-He’s the only one who wears the standardized/former Zodiac Armor from when the Zodiacs were just seen as the Jade Emperor’s protector. This is because if anyone were to make new clothes for Dragon they’d accidentally make him too similar to the Jade Emperor which stirred up some problems for the Celestial Realm the first time it happened. Since then Dragon has only been able to wear that specific outfit.
-Gained control over weather after Goat lost that position. Also hates Megapolis for developing the weather technology.
-Has mad respect for the Lotus Family. Especially Nezha.
-Actually dislikes Li Jing because of his parenting skills.
-Scratch that he hates Li Jing.
-Did I mention he hates Li Jing?
-His Constellations are made out of Sea Foam and Tempered Glass. The explanation as to why he used two materials instead of one is because he couldn’t decide which was more random.
It was alright since the Constellations were pretty much a result of a game the Zodiacs made out of pure boredom. But Ox still argues to this day that Sea Foam was more random than Tempered Glass.
-They are raised strictly and have no contact with Dragon…well they do but contact is rare. More or less he gives direct orders and that is it. In fact for Dragon’s district even the act of speaking to him is a luxury a small minority have.

im guessing after the zodiacs introductions we get to know about the districts or... can we ask what nezha's district is about?
Yep! After the Introductions you’ll get an overview of their domains. (Been meaning to practice background art)
As for Nezha’s district. His is where all the ‘defective’ Constellations go. Why Nezha since he’s not a star god? Simple. The Zodiacs are biased.
A more complicated answer: 99% of the time the ‘defective’ cons manifest as children, since Nezha’s the Patron God of Children he has experience taking care of them. And with Zodiac Tiger having a biased for the Lotus Family specifically they tend to notice Nezha’s care for children more.

Zodiac Rabbit or Rong Tu
4th General of the Zodiacs
Info:
Zodiac Rabbit is the 4th to win the Zodiac Race, when she was helped by Dragon while struggling to get to the other side of the stream. She barely made it to the end alive and now lives a peaceful life weaving dreams for mortals and sleeping in her domain.
Role in the Celestial Realm:
-Like all the Zodiacs She weaves fate. However, she more or so creates the prophecies within those dreams. Like how she allowed a dream to be sent to Nezha’s mother to warn him of his birth.
-Her main role is to manage prophecies. Which ones get spoken to mortals and which ones don’t. She gives them as warnings to mortals and sometimes blessings of good fortune.
-Again just like all the Zodiacs, if she wants to control an Individual’s Fate, or at least one person instead of the masses, they’d have to be born on the Year of the Rabbit
-If not tending her duties as a Zodiacs, she instills her role as the Celestial DreamKeeper.
She weaves the dreams of mortals, nonsensical or whimsy all she wants. She guards mortals in their sleep, using dreams in order to keep them calm in slumber.
-If a mortal gets a nightmare, it means that she stopped guarding that mortal’s dream that night, usually to make them guilty or let them wallow in their regrets as punishment. Sometimes she just allows them to have nightmares to express their fears about something instead of bottling them up. Either way every situation is complicated and she knows that mortals’ emotions are not meant to be played with.
-There are very few Celestials that work under her, but when they do they tend to get confused by all the dreams she wants them to weave, as most of the time they aren’t prophecies.
-Rabbit barely shows up at meetings even ones that involve her, mostly sending a Constellation to take her seat. This is usually because she’s still weaving dreams as people around the world don’t have the same Time Frame.
Personal Info:
-Is responsible for LBD’s dream, mostly to lead her downfall. She foresaw LBD’s inevitable defeat and her obsession with Destiny. She doesn’t have a good opinion on LBD, treating Destiny like it was meant to be for her alone when she a Zodiac knows how Destiny is meant to operate.
-Rabbit is somewhat based on Blue Diamond, calm and collected but terrifying when pissed off. Most of the time her punishments are harsh, perhaps harsher than the rest of the Zodiacs.
-Despite being saved by Dragon, they aren’t close. Their relationship is strictly professional. Instead, Rabbit is close with Goat, which simultaneously means she’s close with both Rooster and Monkey.
-She spends a lot of time with Goat because of their similarities. They like to make stories from time to time.
-Again there are differences to Goat’s ‘Serenity’ ability and Rabbit’s ‘Calm’ ability have major differences. Where Goat seems like people are getting high. Goat believes that it’s an ability to allow people to be happy and take away the pain, but Rabbit despite being friends with Goat only uses ‘Calm’ when it is necessary.
-Rabbit, despite being the Keeper of Dreams, doesn’t believe in ‘quick fixes.’ They believe things should happen through the quick thinking and hard work of people’s minds and free-will
-They spend most of their time asleep, as that is the only way they can connect to the Realm of Dreams.
-Sometimes mistaken for Chang’e’s Jade Rabbit. (For some reason)
-Tried to give ‘Calm’ to Nezha one time and somehow he’s immune to her ability. Aka Nezha doesn’t know how to chill. (This legit funny, I find it that The Zodiacs are quite fond of Nezha, literally their favorite Lotus Prince)
-Her Constellations are made with weed (no not that weed) Something like Dandelions. They were personally woven by her using the help of Goat.
-She wants her Constellations to be independent of her, so naturally she trains the first few and then lets them handle the rest, most of her domain isn’t handled by her but Constellations that are called ‘Elders’ by the younger Rabbit Constellations.
-Most of her Constellations use the technology from Rat to determine which Constellations have Assignments.
-Drinks an obsessive amount of tea…for some reason.
-Is a sweet tooth believe it or not.
-Her eyes are usually closed, but when she does open her eyes it’s a sign she’s listening to you…carefully.
-Is the fastest next to Horse.
-Usually appears in her regular form actually, a Rabbit. She does this to purposefully throw people off, trying to give them a sense of security while also making sure they aren’t talking shit about her.
Author’s Note: Her design is slightly inspired by Lady Lihua from Apocathary Diaries…only the colors though.

Zodiac Tiger (Ting Yan Hu)
3rd General of the Zodiacs
Info:
Zodiac Tiger or Ting Yan Hu is the 3rd to win the Zodiac Race, did not like the currents at all, there’s a reason cats don’t like water. Pretty much struggled but powered through the race with sheer brute force, which is why they’re pretty terrifying to most of the Celestial Army. Literally they got a high spot out of pure willpower and determination.
Role in the Celestial Realm:
-All the Zodiacs maintain fate and Destiny so that the Heavenly Cycle has a predictable ending to restart again. Tiger’s Main Role in Weaving the Threads of Destiny is conflict.
-Tiger manages the historical wars, conflicts, revolutions, civil wars etc, they ensure that no matter which side gains victory they do not alter fate completely, which is why some wars happen where one side always wins every cycle even if you were to calculate the perfect loophole and some wars end up changing which side wins cycle to cycle because no matter what they end up pulling the same shit.
-For individual fates they give mortals who are born under their year, The Year of the Tiger, confidence and bravery, blessing them with the determination to strive despite circumstances.
-If not tending to their duties in the Zodiac…well they’re busy with paperwork…
-Tiger is the Enforcer of Divine Law or the Highest Commander of the Celestial Armies. Meaning they literally manage almost every security, sure there are people beneath them in rank that can handle some of the load but Tiger pretty much handles them on their own because apparently some of the armies have grown incompetent.
-Most of the Celestials under them are War gods or Celestial Guards. Which means they’re Li Jing’s boss. The Zodiacs are all placed in a higher ranking than all the other Celestials because they handle things that’s practically universal order, so…Yeah they’re Li Jing’s boss. (You can imagine the scolding Li Jing got after the events of Season 5
-Tiger shows up to every meeting, they don’t like when information isn’t told to them, and who knows if there’s danger lurking about.
-When not busy they handle their constellations. They are made of metal so they only bend if they are heated or hit rather hard.
Personal Info:
-Cat is their sibling.
-Despite being Third in Command, they still look to Dragon to take charge of the Zodiacs. This is because Tiger’s job as commander of the Heavenly Armies is quite difficult for them and many of the Celestials and they can’t handle another load.
-They are strict with the armies, a real commander. Most of the Heavenly Army are terrified of them. Imagine Spitfire from My Little Pony. However they also like boldness and confidence, which us why they tend to favor certain Celestials (Like Nezha or Erlang)
-Actually favors the Lotus Family because of their boldness. Especially Nezha, the guy was a real menace as a kid and as much as they like order they definitely like it when a Celestial doesn’t hold back.
-Still Treats Nezha like a child. Though secretly they worry for the guy.
-Dislikes Monkey…a lot…
-They aren’t close with anyone, though Goat and Rabbit invite them to tea so they don’t feel lonely. The only other friend they would’ve made is Erlang but he’s on vacation. Nezha and Tiger’s relationship is purely professional.
-Most of their cons act like the Rubies from Steven Universe. They imitate Tiger’s personality but a bit exaggerated, they’re bold, confident, loud and sometimes a bit cocky.
-Tiger trains the Cons with Assignments personally so compared to most Constellations those Cons last longer with an assignment.
-They once fought toe-to-toe with Wukong while protecting the Jade Emperor (Cause that’s literally their job) and got smacked away. They now dislike Wukong because ‘He thought I was weak’
-If you want me to describe Tiger’s job, just think of Nezha’s but 10x more exhausting. They prefer to train in their free time, or send storms to certain cities.
-Actually hates the fact that Megapolis city has the ability to control weather. They would send a storm if they could but again Megapolis City can control weather.
-Hairstyle was actually inspired by Azure because they thought it looked cool and decided to steal it completely.
-Most of the Celestial Armies based their armor off of Tiger’s but since Tiger wanted the armies to look unique they decided that the armor changes depending on the rank of the person.
-Actually hates the golden armor look but since the Jade Emperor was concerned about it looking too dull they just had to accept it…prefers silver armor.
-The spear allows them to control Lightning or at least steal it from the sky and redirect it at someone else. They don’t use its full strength often since last time that happened they ended up splitting Pangea.
-How they didn’t get their weather powers revoked is anyone’s guess.
Aaand
Here’s the madness that drove me to make this design
Yeah I noticed the pattern so I decided to make my Tiger design inspired by this because they’re the Highest Commander of the Celestial armies.
