FEATURING DAHLIA WRIGHT
dahlia was shaking her head in amusement, her nose crinkled,” how i was that wasn’t true.” she knew that she worked quite often. especially for someone her age but she liked the idea of having enough money to live. it had been years of not having anything stable but now she did and she wasn’t going to ruin it. even if that meant spending far too much time at her place of work. she was surprised that zoe had agreed with her and she grinned at how she was correcting herself,” uh huh.” she was going to take a breath as she took another sip of her coffee. only to shrug as she set her mug down. only to grab one of the few others that was behind the bar. she was setting it down and going to pick up the pot. a sigh came from her as she went to pour another cup,” i’m fine,” she said after a moment,” i mean sleeping isn’t easy but i think i need a social life but i literally hate the idea of one at the same time.” she was going to slide the mug over to zoe before handing over the creamer and sugar,” what about you? things at the salon okay?” she knew that curly bops was the only salon in charming that was worth going to.
“Right? Coming to La Luna is so much fun, but it’s like as soon as you work here and the fun gets sucked right out.“ The woman giggled. With the amount of hours that Dahlia spent behind the bar, Zoe instinctively knew she wasn’t taking good enough care of herself, and she wanted nothing more than to change that. As the younger begun to describe what was going on, a wicked smile appeared on Zoe’s lips, “How about a day at the salon? Can I pretty please do your hair? C’mooooon. It’ll be so much fun. And you can invite some people with you. We’ll make a day of it.“ The subsequent pout that appeared on Zoe’s face was strategic in order to try and convince Dahlia to say yes. “I bet that after a full treatment at Curly Bops you’ll be feeling fresh, and ready to take on the world. Even having a social life.“ Zoe widened her eyes in a doe-eyed expression as she grabbed the cup and poured an unhealthy amount of sugar in it. When Dahlia flipped the question towards Zoe herself, she shrugged, “The salon is doing great. The Valentine’s day party brought in a lot of customers. So that was a busy few days. As for Zoe, the person and not the hairdresser slash business owner, I’m boring as always.“ She laughed a self deprecating laugh, and shrugged her shoulders. Sure, Zoe had friends and acquaintances all over town, but at times she felt... Lonely.

FEATURING LUISA TEZEL
Location: Curly Bops
With: Zoelie Ramos
@zoelie-ramos
Lu decided to go out and dedicate the day to pampering herself instead of allowing herself to mope around her apartment, listening to sad songs and thinking about her ex-boyfriend. She made sure she went to Curly Bops when she knew it wouldn’t be too busy, because she was going ahead and doing an entire package – mani pedi, a facial, blowout. She knew some of the employees were a little taken aback with the fact that Lu didn’t seem to want to talk all that much today, but she didn’t really feel like it, preferring only to listen to their latest gossip, until she spotted Zoe. “Hey,” Lu said, showing the older woman a friendly smile. “I feel like I hadn’t seen you at the Valentine’s Day party. Did you have fun?”
Stepping out from her office and into the salon floor, Zoe noticed the younger woman who had become a good friend. The fact that the younger wasn’t able to hold her tongue and always seemed to have something to say that spread smiles, had warmed Zoe’s heart and opened her up to the other. “Hey cupcake.” She greeted the other with a beaming smile of her own, leaning down to place air kisses on each of Lu’s cheeks. “I didn’t get to attend, unfortunately. We were busy here all day, and by the time the last pumpkin had been turned into a princess, I was too beat to do anything. I stopped by the Sweet Escapes stall though, and got me some goodies and had a night in, with Friends and red wine.” A chuckle left her as she looked back towards Lu, and Zoe’s features molded into ones of worry. “What’s up, corazón? You seem awful quiet today.”

FEATURING DAHLIA WRIGHT
location: la luna
with: zoelie ramos
@zoelie-ramos
“didn’t you get enough of this place when you worked here?” asked dahlia as she turned to face the bar. she had just finished making herself a cup of coffee. something she needed given she felt like she had barely slept. there was quite a bit on her mind and of course she had to work the very next day. it was the day shift which meant that it was going to be slow which was something at least. she was going to lean against the back counter and taking a deep breath,” and don’t tell me that you are turning into one of those sad day drinkers.” she motioned towards the only other customer who was currently resting his head on the table he was sitting at. she was going to add a generous amount of sugar to her coffee as well as some creamer. after that she was going to take a swig and putting on a slight smile,” because charming has enough of those.”
Zoe shrugged with a smile playing on her lips and looked towards Dahlia, as she fixed herself a cup of coffee, “You can never get too much of La Luna... Unless you work here.” She giggled, knowing that Dahlia would get it. It was impossible for Zoe not to think that the younger worked too much, although she would never say it out loud. She had worked herself to the bone in previous years and admired the other’s work ethic, however despite that, there was no doubt that Dahlia was like chained to La Luna at times. Looking around the room, Zoe swallowed another giggle, trying her best to not seem judgmental. But fact was, based on the turnout in the bar at this early hour, that Charming did indeed have enough day drinkers. “Nah. I mean no.” She corrected herself out of sheer habit. Her parents had always claimed that not using the proper words was impolite and sloppy, a lesson which had stuck with her for the past eighteen years. “I just came to check up on you. How’re you doing, chica? What’s on your mind?” She asked, before looking with hungry eyes towards the cup of coffee in Dahlia’s hand, “Actually, could I get a cup of coffee, please? Solidarity and all that.”

FEATURING RAFAEL GRAVES
location: curly bop’s
with: zoelie ramos
@zoelie-ramos
if there was ever a place that rafael stuck out like a sore thumb it was curly bop’s. it was the salon that most women in charming went to. he remembered his mother going there when he was growing up. usually it was when they had a little extra money laying around and his father just handed over the cash. now rafael found himself walking into the salon on his own with a plastic bag in his grasp. the moment the bell rang and signaled his entrance, plenty of eyes turned to him. he noticed a few of the women seemed to shift and clutch their purses a little closer. the girl at the front desk seemed to not know what to do. he spotted zoelie who looked to be finishing up with a customer,” querida! i brought lunch!” one thing most people didn’t know about him was that he had a talent for cooking. the previous night he hadn’t been able to sleep and had actually made his mother’s recipe for tamales.
Saying goodbye to Mrs. Alvarez, the elderly woman headed towards the exit and Zoe was about to reach for a broom, when noticing how all the women suddenly either stared towards the entrance with beaming smiles of total adoration or clutched their purses to their sides. Looking towards what was causing the silent reaction, a smile formed on Zoe’s lips. “Hey handsome!” She greeted the man with a loving smile on her lips. Rafael had been one of her first friends in Charming back in the day and the pair had since helped each other out through tough times. Seeing that her friend had made an effort to bring by lunch, caused another smile to form on her lips and she threw her arm around his shoulders. With the heels she was wearing, they were closer in height and she patted his shoulder before pulling her arm back, “Let’s go to my office.” She nodded in the direction of her office, waiting for him to take off. When he did, Zoe took a second to let one of her hairdressers know she was in charge, before following Raf towards her office. “What’d you make us?” She asked and smiled while getting settled into her office chair.

ZOELIE RAMOS
Age: Thirty-six
Gender: Cis woman
Pronouns: She/her
Occupation: Hairdresser & Owner of Curly Bops
Face Claim: Nathalie Kelley
Length of stay in Charming: The past 18 years
INTERVIEW
TW: Mentions of the town shooting, death
How do you feel about the Devil’s Disciples and the Wicked Wolves?
The woman smiles politely and fights her urge to shrug, having been brought up with the notion that shrugging was impolite and ‘sloppy’. “They’re… Something” A small and graceful chuckle escapes her and she looks down towards her feet, ankles crossed in a position way too graceful for this interview. She uncrosses her ankles and instead sits with her legs crossed. “Their parties are legendary, as the kids would say.” She laughs at herself, placing both hands over her face at her own words, “Can we start over? Okay, let’s start over.” A more genuine giggle falls from her lips as she’s begun to loosen up, “They’re apart of this town, and apart of what makes Charming what it is. I hear a lot of gossip about them at the salon, but I try not read too much into it. The rumor mill is saying they’re into some illegal things, and that might be the case, but I just can’t help but think how most of them are really kind… Some deeper down than others.” She laughs lightly and plays with a ring on her finger, “There was this Disciple once who opened the door for me and a Wolf who let me drink for free at Rendezvous.” She thought back to the shooting that had happened a few months ago and bit her lip, a sad expression gracing her features while she looks down, “I know the gang and the MC were the ones who invited those people into our town, but I still don’t see them as bad people. Their actions might not be the best, but the people behind the actions aren’t all that bad.”
What’s the most important thing to you?
Instantly Zoelie straightens her back and crosses her arms across her chest. It’s a defensive gesture. She wouldn’t say it outright but people not believing she’s earned everything in her life on her own, makes her defensive and she feels the need to prove herself. “My salon, of course.” Her voice is monotonous and the fun and giggly Zoe has left the building. “I worked my butt off to be where I am today. I served at Hale’s, I cleaned at the Highway Motel, I served drinks and babysat kids all over town. I never once took charity and I put myself through both beauty school and business school and even then, I had to prove myself worthy to the previous owner of Curly Bops. I did all this, because I wasn’t about to follow in footsteps I didn’t like the shape of.” The woman licks her lips and shakes her head as she let her arms drop back in her lap. “So the most important thing to me, is to keep the salon open and to be nothing like the people I grew up around.” At the thought of her family, her expression darkens and Zoe looks down. She doesn’t have regrets about leaving their affluent life behind, but at times she misses having her own blood supporting her decisions.
What are you most scared of?
Zoe visibly swallows. These questions are hitting close to home. Despite eleven years in Charming on her own and with no help from her parents, her biggest fear is still failure. “I fear having to go back home with my tail between my legs. That the salon might close down with me as the owner, when it’s been in this town for generations and that I’ll have nowhere to turn.” Shaking her head and plastering on a fake smile, she tries to lighten the mood, “I’m also not a fan of insects.” She shudders and shakes her head in a giggle. “Everything you want is on the other side of fear” The quote stuck with her after reading it on some dumb website years ago, “I try to live based on those words. They motivated me to leave my family behind in search of what I wanted and they motivated me throughout my school years, towards my dream. Fear isn’t as scary when you’ve faced it.”
If you could have a million dollars right now, what would you do with it?
A million dollars is a lot of money and Zoe is well aware of that; however with her family background, she also knows money doesn’t make you happier. “Money is the root of all evil” She speaks through gritted teeth. For a lot of people, her family had seemed perfect from the outside looking in, but the money had ruined them and their sense of reality. “If I absolutely had to accept the million dollars, I would probably just invest it. Leave it to multiply while I go on with my life.” She shrugs, this time not scolding herself for the action, rather doing it as an act of rebellion. Her family is still back in their hometown not too far from Charming, living in their castle of a mansion and looking down on everyone they consider below them. A life she never wanted for herself. “If you want to see who people really are, wait until there’s money involved. Everyone shows their true colors when money’s at stake.”

It’s ya girl, Korrie, with my fifth muse because I have no self control! This is my first lady of the bunch, Zoelie Ramos, who only ever goes by Zoe and is the owner of Curly Bops! If you’d like to plot with her, feel free to either like this or message me on Discord ( coffeehoe#6551 ). Let’s get down to the fun stuff, yeah? Under the cut is more information on my queen. TW: Mentions of cheating, alcohol & drug abuse and violence.
BACKGROUND
Grew up in a neighboring town to Charming, to a filthy rich family, always being told never to enter into Charming town limits, since that’s “where the troublemakers live” as her father put it.
Her father was a savvy businessman who slowly but surely bought up nearly every business in town and helped it grow tenfold, while her mother was on the board for charities and helped keep up their image of a perfect family.
Growing up, Zoe had so much respect for her parents that she never questioned their need for her to be proper. She had etiquette classes, the best tutors money could buy and was a talented ballet dancer. All because that’s what her parents wanted for her.
But as she became older, Zoe also became more perceptive. By sixteen she knew her father had numerous affairs, her mother had a drinking problem due to being in a loveless marriage and both her older siblings had problems with drugs, alcohol and violence, knowing that their father would always come and bail them out. Zoe vowed that she wouldn’t follow in their footsteps.
The following years she begun withdrawing from her family and focused entirely on finishing high school. The day after she turned eighteen, she left her hometown and to the town her family had always told her to stay away from, namely Charming. It was her act of rebellion.
Although not physically far away from her family who were still in the neighboring town, she was suddenly on her own, and having to make her own way in life.
Zoe started working any job she could find, including serving at Hale’s, serving at La Luna, cleaning at the Highway Motel and babysitting, all to put herself through beauty school and business classes on the side, pay her rent in a shitty house shared with three roommates and put food in her belly.
It was during those years Zoe begun believing in the strength she possessed. If she could make it through all that work and hard times, she could make it through anything.
When graduating beauty school and finishing her business classes, Zoe struck a deal with the previous owner of Curly Bops, who was an older lady. Zoe would work for her as a hairdresser and save up enough money to be able to buy Curly Bops, so the other could retire.
She became the proud owner of her own salon at twenty-nine and couldn’t be prouder of herself. Still works as a hairdresser at the salon, because she doesn’t want to become one of those detached owners like her father was for all his businesses.
PERSONALITY
She’s very outgoing and a people person.
Still lives with a roommate, just due to the fact that she’s not huge on being alone.
Still has some of the habits her parents instilled in her, but goes every day trying to rid herself of them, since she resents her family so much and doesn’t want a single reminder of them.
Very helpful and is deep in the Charming community. Does volunteer work whenever she can and does whatever to help people in any way.
A bit naïve at times.
