Anyway I think there is a running theme with Incubus, I thought that crutch was new but he's actually used a crutch throughout the whole comic (when he's not in dream form anyway).

And the crutch is a sword omg. And the new panel does look like that's a swors sheath. Anyway besides the obvious "violence is a crutch" metaphore. I think the primary visual thing happening here is the illusion of strength, versus real strength.

The enormous ship as a strong outer shell while on the inside is this pathetic man trying to convince us he isn't as weak as he looks. And this compounds with Incubus himself, visually he looks very strong with those muscles. But we know it's all blood magic bullshit anyway. And we know that Incubus is not a good swordsman. So its all a facade. And Incubus is over compensating.

Contrast this with Allison, who doesn't use a sword. And is missing two limbs and an eye. But we know has true strength within her. She doesn't have to pretend.

All this metaphor is cool, but it's also still effective because we still literally have no idea how Allison and friends are gonna beat this. So the threat is still there, and a lot of people are gonna die.

Also i think I've got Abbadon's pacing style down. When Jagganoth comes back he is somehow going to be more destructive and powerful anything we've seen so far.

The art went from "okay I gotta get two pages out a week let's get it done" to "okay now I've got an established fan base that is chill with letting me cook"

I fucking love Kill Six Billion Demons. Fucking adore it.

So, short version, the multiverse is controlled by seven ultrapowerful mortals turned gods, the Demiurges. The REAL gods are all dead, and were found dead by the only warrior mightier than the Seven, King Zoss. Who all this time has bene seeking a successor, despite being dead.

He picks a sorority sister from California. Allison Ruth.

Cue comedy, horror, and awesome. Often at the same time.

Pros:

--MASSIVE female-centric cast with tons of women's rights, women's wrongs, and everything in between. Main characters lean towards the ladies. Demiurges are 3/7 ladies (insomuch as Gog-Agog has gender, she's at least been a girl for the story's time) and all fascinating character-wise. The word "King" is used in a gender neutral way. Angels are called out for insisting to have no gender but defaulting to masculine pronouns for their entire race, even ones it makes uncomfortable. And so on.

--Sexism being a major plot point without overpowering the story--essentially, Allison is the First Woman that Zoss has tried to have as successor, the prophecy was translated in such a way people ASSUME the successor must be male, and it's well into the fourth book to take even all the leads to accept no, Zoss really picked her.

--Great art evolution by the end of the first "book." It's never BAD, but it gets more and more awe-inspiring. By the sixth and current, the artist admits they're a bit addicted to Complex Character Design

--Really good ruminations on fate, omnipotence, will, strength, enlightenment, and more Big Concepts. And a Diogenes Expy named Meti who was the greatest sword fighter in the multiverse...and hates swords. And fighting. And everything else.

--Mottom is literally all three Hecate Sisters in one person and her backstory is so messed up and explains her perfectly I love it

--The god who created humanity, considered to the the Top Disciple of the Big Creator of All...is a stupid, childish brat known as the Master of Want (aka aspiration, greed, and self sufficiency). She is the greatest disciple BECAUSE she is never content and always pushing for something greater than what she currently is. She is therefore also the God of Self Improvement. Her name is Aesma and I love her.

--Maya. Dear EVERYTHING Maya once we learn her whole deal.

Cons

--Early art maybe not for everyone. Still VERY good, just maybe not for everyone.

--I know everyone and their grandma is going to woobify Incubus somehow. He's that type

--If gore is not your thing...you're not going to like later chapters, and even early ones have a good amount

--Forums fought for over a year thanks to the words of an omnipotent character on the nature of the universe. Ah. Careful.
