I'm torn between being stuck in the past, and moving forward with full force. It's always amazing to me how much my running coincides with the state of my life. At times, I am strong. Confident. I feel right. Others? Weak, incapable, full of doubt. Luckily, I've increasingly less days of the latter. I think there's a balance in life that most people miss while trying to find it - Life shouldn't be that hard. That's really what it comes down to. It shouldn't be an obligation. That's true for friendships, running, working, for loving. Put your energy into what gives you energy. It should be that simple. You want to know what you truly love in life? Where your happiness is? Track what you spend most of your thoughts on during your day. Where does your mind find peace? Who or what is happiness for you? Once you figure that out, give all you have. The clock is ticking. Tja, da isse - meine Startnummer zum New York Marathon - und das was man nicht auf den Foto sieht, ist das blutende Läufer-Herz..💔 Was macht man nun, wenn man am letzten September-Wochenende erfährt, dass man eine Nummer zum Marathon aller Marathons bekommt, weil "eine unverhofft übrig war" - und wenn man eigentlich das ganze Jahr ja immer wieder mit dieser bekackten Verletzung laboriert hat und seit einem Jahr nie weiter als 20 km gelaufen ist?! Ich sag's euch: man will das Ding UM JEDEN PREIS laufen! Vernunft hin oder her. Aber dieses Jahr hat mich echt ge...ärgert und der Oktober ist verdammt anders verlaufen als geplant. Laufkilometer für den ganzen Monat ca. 50... Haken dran. 2018 sehen wir uns wieder, NY!! Und so mache ich am Sonntag das, was ich in diesem Jahr profimäßig gemacht habe: Cheeren!! Falls ihr mal ne professionelle Cheererin braucht- ihr könnt bei mir anfragen😉! Vielleicht kann mich außerdem bitte noch jemand am Sonntagmorgen zurückhalten einfach mit zum Start zu fahren und loszurennen und mich bitte an mein gebrochenes Bein erinnern, das ich auf keinen Fall noch mal brauche!! It will move you. 🙌🏻 Vor knapp 10 Jahren war ich das erste Mal mit @interair_sportreisen hier zum New York Marathon. Der Marathon ist anders. Anders als alle Marathons, die ich jemals gesehen und erlebt habe. Ich meine - wenn man schon bereit ist, um 6 Uhr raus zum Start nach Staten Island zu fahren, um dann bis zu 4 Stunden zitternd unter freien Himmel auf den Start zu warten (weil man später nicht mehr mit dem Bus hinkommt), dann heißt das ja schon was. Für diesen Lauf muss man bereit sein, Opfer zu bringen😉. Es ist alles unsäglich teuer, überfüllt und anstrengend. Aber: es ist all diese Strapazen und jeden einzelnen Cent wert!! Angefangen bei den Helfern: die Begeisterung all dieser freiwilligen unbezahlten Helfer und der riesige Stolz, mit dem sie ihren Volunteer Job ausüben, rührt mich jedes Mal fast zu Tränen. Überhaupt - dieses Publikum! Es jubelt und kreischt nonstop, es ist wie in einem Paralleluniversum. Kinderhände reichen in Brooklyn Schokolade an die Läufer, in der Bronx stehen Hausfrauen mit Küchenrolle, um den Läufen den Schweiß abzutupfen und im Central Park, der ab km 38 gefühlt 500 Höhenmeter hat, peitschen einen die Zuschauer ins Ziel. Man hat keine Chance zu gehen oder gar stehenzubleiben. Bestzeiten sind in New York schwierig. Aber beste und vor allem unvergessliche Zeiten - die sind garantiert! Was soll ich sagen.
