people who are overperformative about their wokeness or a tragedy online are always like “if you can reblog everything but this im blocking you” or something along those lines bc they dont have the self awareness to realize that not everyone comes on tumblr to fucking mourn let alone get their news from like they do…lol

oh hey new guide thinggg~ some basics on how to practice! there’s SO much I could add to this, so it’s just the basics :O
short (kind of): there’s more to practice than doing something repeatedly, it’s also learning new things, problem solving, and honest critique. Each of those is its own skill…also be nice to yourself!

(Animal death and parental abuse TW)
I had to be the person to advocate for my cat’s death and not my mom. It sucked. My mom wanted to keep her around all filthy and miserable with a huge cancerous growth in her leg that ate at her bones and stopped her from walking. Sally--my cat--had always been a small, dainty thing, but with a healthy weight on her. She was a sweetheart, purred immediately when I picked her up and was always there to soothe me in times of stress and sickness, which happened often.
She got me through my miserable childhood in an abusive household. Sally was my emotional anchor, a salve for the wounds left in my heart by my own mother. She gave me something to do other than just survive in the hell of narcissistic parental abuse. I had something to care for, and she watched over me. In a weird way, she acted almost like a mom to her kitten towards me at times.
She loved McDonald’s chicken nuggets, PB&J sandwiches, and pickle juice. She used to steal the cherries out of my Hi-Ho Cherry-O game and she loved to play with those tiny hair clips that were popular in the 2000′s. She tolerated my 3-year-old little sister stuffing her into a toy stroller and tugging her around on a wagon. If I annoyed her, she’d bite my hand enough to hurt a little, but she always knew exactly how hard to bite and never, ever drew blood. She was clumsy and fell off of shit all the time. She would perch and loaf on things with her paws tucked in daintily. She was chubby with tiny paws and it hurt when she stepped all over me, which she did often because she liked to be on or near me at all times.
I left the house at the age of 23. Sally was a little older, but still healthy and happy. But when I came back for a visit a couple years later (which I regretted doing, but I was guilted into it for Christmas), she was thin, sick, and lethargic. She had a growth in her shoulder that was cancerous and she was in pain constantly. She was filthy; she had no energy to clean herself, and she was absolutely covered in flea dust. My mother had neglected to properly clean her litter and kept her locked up in the bathroom, isolated and sick.
When Sally saw me she got up and leapt into my lap like nothing was wrong, but I could feel her little bones as I petted her and her fur was greasy. She couldn’t walk properly and her leg dragged on the ground. I was devastated at the state Sally was in.
I made that choice to have her euthanized. My mother wouldn’t do it and didn’t seem to care that she was suffering. I had to be the one to look at my best friend with four legs and say “it’s time”. I told my mom to take us to the vet, but not before I fed Sally McDonald’s chicken nuggets. I put a soft towel in one of those cardboard vet boxes and pet her through the holes on the way--Sally kept poking herself in the face to pet herself with my hand like cats do.
We got there and she was purring and calm the whole time, and even reached out a paw to “hold” the vet tech’s hand. I think she could sense that I was anxious and upset and was keeping calm around me. I said goodbye and kissed her little face as the cocktail of meds went through her system. We wrapped her body in the towel, still warm, but limp in my arms, and I took her home in that box. Twice I forgot she was gone and poked my fingers through the holes to pet her.
Sally deserved better than to wait around in pain for however long I was gone. She suffered through it without complaint and stayed stoic and sweet around me when I knew she was sick and dying. But I’m glad I made that choice, as much as it hurt me to say goodbye. I got to be there for her in the end like she’d been through with me so much.
And her predicament and my mother’s treatment of her was a catalyst in cutting off that part of my life and breaking contact with my abuser. Sally’s innocence and love despite the neglect told me everything about my mother that I knew all along, just with a huge megaphone directly in my ear. I have a lot to thank that cat for. I hope she knew the choice I made was to relieve her of the pain she didn’t deserve to endure.

Euthanasia is not a cruelty
A lot of the time, it is a kindness. Quality of life, not quantity.

Blizzard banned pro Hearthstone winner for supporting free Hong Kong and took away his prize money. It would be SUCH A SHAME if Mei became a symbol of Hong Kong democracy and got Overwatch banned in China like Pooh did.
Join us! Draw this in your style or any blizzard game characters as a Hong Kong protester. Don't let the Chinese government control our free speech!

Just a reminder that 95% of what you call “tumblr made up social justice concepts/sexualities/genders etc” arent “made up” on tumblr but have existed for years even before the invention of internet and have academic papers, books and articles written about them .You came to know of their existence only on tumblr bc tumblr is the only big social media website out of the rest 5 big social media websites which isnt a)Entirely based around sharing only images b) Has main userbase of bigots and facists and c)Has some sort of character limit which prevents people to spread these concepts more easily and comprehensively.
