Final Statement on the Font

Hi everyone. This will be our final statement on this topic. We are especially saying this now after being harassed and questioned about it for so long.

We do not own the font we use for our TCC-mojis. It’s a free, publicly available font, and we’ve never claimed otherwise. What we have done is spend over a year pouring time, care, and consistency into making it a signature part of our TCC-moji brand. This specific font has become a recognizable and personal part of our work. While we do not hold legal ownership, the font is a key part of our identity as a creator. That matters to us.

In the past, we shared the name of the font. Our boundaries were not respected. Because of that, we no longer disclose it. If someone finds it on their own, that’s their prerogative — but we’re not going to assist that process. As it’s become tied closely to our work, seeing it used in the same way, specifically in the same community, makes us deeply uncomfortable. It makes us feel replaceable.

We understand that some people may use the font without knowing who we are. That is completely fair. But if we reach out and ask you not to use it, that is a personal boundary. It is not a legal claim. It is not gatekeeping. Just a personal request from artists trying to protect what we’ve built. If that’s dismissed or disrespected, we block. It’s that simple.

And really, there are so many other fonts out there. So many fun, creative, and expressive ways to make your own wordmojis in your personal signature. You have the chance to build your own visual identity instead of borrowing someone else’s. That process can be fulfilling and uniquely yours.

This isn’t about legality. It’s about respecting creative space, identity, and labor. We’re not here to discuss it anymore, we’re just tired.
