In canon: Grace to Kit because he is kind and shows her empathy despite everything she’d done.

In my fics, Bloodbound specifically: Grace to Kit for the same reasons as above, but also Kit to Grace because she will go 100% unhinged to save him from dangerous situatons.

It depends when it falls: if it’s in the middle of the week, they just chill out at home; if it’s close to the weekend they would take the kids and go to Cecily’s second house in Wales for a few days.

At the start not really, I was reading Empire of the Vampire and I liked the structure of one character being interrogated and telling the story from their teenage years and their 30s. Then, when the story took a more introspective turn, I decided to leave it only from Cecily’s POV.

2. No, except for the series my fics are independent from each other. You can find some references and easter egg here and there (for the Gracetopher fics, Odette is a running joke for example). I keep the same headcanons though, for example in all my fics Cecily’s birthday is the 12th April.

3. I'm sorry, the answer would be a huge spoiler of the whole fic so I hope you forgive me if I don’t answer ;)

4. Maybe not a lot, but for sure they feel comfortable swearing in front of each other. They will try not to do it in front of the children, though.

Not really, after the first few months I see Cecily being ready to try everything with Gabriel and liking it.

I'd say that she can still surprise Gabriel, not by doing something he hasn’t done, but because Cecily, the woman he loves, wants to try things the society considers scandalous.

Ok, for example if he told her he had done the other way, and she was worried because she wasn't sure she would like it as not everyone does, and that would be a downside. Of course he wouldn't left her for not wanting to do it that way, but the doubts of "maybe his exes did it with him, and I'm not and he is missing that".

I'm curious on this topic because in that era this was all such a non talk topic, that for sure many felt intimidated when having to do it with their partner who had more experience.

Yes, exactly, at the start of the relationship Cecily would be worried about not liking sime things Gabriel did already and making him "miss" some of these experiences, but after talking to him she would feel moee confident because Gabriel will assure her that he is fine doing only whatever Cecily is comfortable with.

I totally understand, and I think Cecily would be a bit indimidated when she doesn’t know Gabriel that well yet, but she would quickly get over that thanks to ✨️healthy communication✨️.

I understand, much more time accurate, do you envision him having done a lot of stuff even those considered not high society? Does Cecily feel fine by that or has she ever felt pressured during those 3 years to know she will have to do some stuff for him to like?

Of course, he wouldn't force her to do anything without her full consent, but for example, you wrote "it would be the first time she held him in her mouth but for him, it wouldn't", so she knows he's had oral done to him before. When knowing this did she ever feel like she would need to do it to match the ex because he liked it? And the same with other type of things.

By the time they have s3x it's clear she doesn't have doubts of any type as she states, but during those 3 years prior.

Yes, I envision him having done things considered "low" by the society, like oral sex.

I would say that for Cecily the pressure wouldn’t really be "I feel like I must do this because his exes did it and he likes it", but more like "I have never done it, what if he is disappointed by my perfromance because I have no experience?"

Of course these doubts would exist mostly at the start of the relationship, but soon Gabriel would dispel them telling her that it doesn’t matter, she can learn by doing and that he would never leave her just because when they will start having sex she isn’t immediately a goddess.

Hey there! I stumbled upon your Gabriel/Cecily fic and I'm really enjoying it! I have a question about a detail in one of the chapters. When Cecily mentions "all of Gabriel's exes," I'm curious: how many does he have? Has Cecily ever encountered any of them? Are they Shadowhunters, possibly visible at events?

Also, regarding Gabriel's romantic history, what led you to portray him as having had multiple experiences? I'm not opposed to it; I'm just noting that in other fics, authors often depict him with little to no romantic history.

Hi! I'm happy you are enjoying it!

I imagined that Gabriel had some experience (one night stands mostly) because of his father’s parties, considering also that in the era it was very common for men to have sex before the marriage and at parties in my head Gabriel had some one night stando with women he met there.

As for Cecily meeting them, I'd say no because I don’t want to write the drama of "yeah I was with Gabriel before you came in the picture", but if she met them I think she would be totally laid back about it since she is sure in her relationship.

I think many people describe Gabriel with little to no romantic experience because Cassandra writes only two types of men in all her series: the ones who have sex with all the breathing and consenting people they meet, and the ones who only ever have sex with the love of their life. In canon, Gabriel (and basically everyone in TID) belongs to the second cathegory, so I think that’s why people write him as inexperienced as Cecily; this isn’t necessarily a bad thing, I love when two characters discover intimacy together, but I prefer writing something more halfway than the two types of Shadowhunters men and something closer to the era when the fic is set.

After all this talk about Gabrily, some of you may be (rightfully) wondering when I will post the rest of Still insists she sees the ghosts.

So, in irl some shit went down, and I am trying to figure out some things (among them, if I am delulu enough to leave my job to start an author career), so I am pushing back the writing of Sisstg to a moment when I will have the mental peace to complete it properly.

At the same time, since I am a world champion of creating myself a problem that literally doesn’t exist, I am worried that when I will finally post the new chapters, it won't be at the height of your expectations and you would have "wasted" a lot of time waiting for a fic that ended up disappointing you.

But I promise that when I will feel better I will write the new chapters at the best of my skills, and I'll try to make the wait worth for it.

That's true, I'm honestly surprised because I don't get why someone could hate them that much when they have so little page time, and aren't involved in any love triangle

I think it’s mostly because Gabriel is the only character who calls out Will on his bullshit, so according to Will's stans he is inherently evil because they can’t fathom another reason why someone may not like him.

Anyway, better having less stans but good. I never heard of Gabriel’s stans making up headcanons about Will being racist or hiring strippers (the famous strippers of 1880s) for his bachelor party (the famous bachelor parties of 1880s), and I think this says much more about Gabriel’s haters than about Gabriel’s fans.
