She wanted him to think she was ready to be compliant, eager to please — all she needed was to get close enough to give his arms a firm grab. That might be enough to make him collapse and buy her time to escape.

"This is nothing, you know. The Shangri-La has more berry aboard than any of the crew knows what to do with."

Leaning back in his chair at the bar Rousseau's in the French Quarter he sipped at the beer Cami had given him, nose flaring slightly as a new commer walked through the door. Scenting them was his habit, particularly in this city. New Orleans was known for being a hotspot for the supernatural and while the witches, vamps, and werewolves were the predominant ones, there were others if you knew how to look for them....or scent them in his case.

Having just arrived in the city he was waiting for Hayley to arrive, per their agreement over the phone. The wolf having reached out to him for help decided that showing up on the Originals doorstep might not be the best idea at first. This also gave him the chance to get a lay of the city before anyone knew he was here.

Watching the other for a moment longer, he nodded in a simple greeting when their eyes met before turning back to his beer.

Past

Ivy gained her devil fruit powers the same day she lost her sister.

While they were playing in a storage area below deck, Holly found a box with what she thought was two devil fruits. She insisted that she and Ivy should each eat one. The fruit Ivy ate — the zuru-zuru fruit — was real. The other was a replica riddled with poison. Holly died before they had any chance of saving her.

Their captain and stepmother, Titania, was just as distraught as Ivy and her mother. Titania had been given the fruit by someone she thought was a trusted patron. She'd planned to eat the fruit with Ivy's mother when they retired.

That patron was never seen again, but Ivy dreams of the day she finds him. She wants him to suffer the way her sister did.
