This org was recently defunded by your usual colonizer suspects, in an illegitimate attempt to put pressure on the UN after ICJ/CIJ ruling that recognized Palestinians as a distinct ethnic group in plausible threat of genocide.

And damn, that was a good one. a good one. I just wanna say I really appreciate the vfx and camera work.. There has been a huge step up in the quality of those. The story was engaging through and through and I really don’t get the complaints about politics stuff. It’s been as black-and-white as it gets. Never a dull moment!

Avatar had a lot of iconic scenes and badass moments that got my blood pumping (Katara facing off with the water bending master, Aang going into the avatar state almost every time, Sokka mastering the sword)

but I think the scene that got me the most fired up was when Toph is locked in a metal case, defies known bending laws and bends her way out, and stomps on the thing while yelling about being the greatest earthbender alive

that scene filled me with enough fighting spirit to go punch a man, eat my couch piece by piece, bare-knuckle attack the moon, I was seriously fueled with some hot-blooded je ne sais quoi, a certain Fuck You energy if you will, the original source of childhood fury and Power

It’s not like a strike from a couple hundred thousand users at best would budge THE video streaming platform (read: monopoly) that is youtube. A better thing to do is to start suggesting (and supporting) alternative platforms in the hopes of evening out the power scale and making it harder for central censorship. As well as (ab)using youtube’s overreach to allow using the platform without giving google revenue for it (when needed). vimeo and dailymotion come straight to mind but those suffer the same centralisation (and thus, eventual censorship) problem. there are more compelling peer-to-peer/distributed alternatives that do much better job at democratizing knowledge. Here’s a general list:

you’ll notice that the majority of those projects don’t point you to a website that you can use to watch videos right away; instead, they teach you how to set up your own instance of the project. That change in perspective might feel a bit unfamiliar if you’ve never dealt with decentralised networks before but it makes so much sense if you think about it. You can’t hit a bull’s eye if there wasn’t a bull’s eye to begin with. You can’t censor with central authority if all the authority you have is a protocol of which instances choose to communicate with each other to create a swarm. here’s a video that explains decentralised network called mastodon in layman’s terms. support the hell out of the creators who make the bold move to cut their possible audience by switching to a less known platform, and the more of us using those the less of a hard decision it is for creators to switch up. p2p and distributed networks are much more resilient to censorship. and if you *really* need to check out youtube you can always opt for doing it without directly giving revenue to google. you can do that by using invidio.us

Hey y’all in case you don’t know there’s going to be a YouTube walkout happening from December 10th-13th in response to the new terms and agreements YouTube put in place. According to the new terms they’re allowed to delete channels if they don’t meet community guild lines, which historically for them has included LGBT related channels and content.

Many creators are not posting during this walkout and is asking for people not to use YouTube unless it’s related to the UK election (if you live the UK and still want to participate in the walkout but need to use YouTube to stay on top of election info I think there’s a UK one from the 13th-16th too!)

Anyway fuck those new terms and I’m gonna be deleting my YouTube app on my phone until the 16th.
