Progress Update!

NaNoReNo ends in a week - times flown by so fast!

A quick progress update and some news: So far we’ve gotten most of the beginning bit of the game done. Nearly all the sprites that’ll be in the demo are completed! And, we’re planning some fun bonuses beyond the main game itself.

The news, unfortunately, is not as good. We will be extending the demo release date to an indefinite time at the moment, as everyone working on it is extremely busy with things in real life. We’re working to finish as soon as we can, but are currently unable to provide a date.

Meet Leta, Raz’s best friend and rival! She’s often called Pompom by other Goddesses, as she is the Pomander Goddess.

Leta is very bubbly, excitable, and fun-loving. She’s also pretty talkative, according to the other Aroma Goddesses. Her work ethic is lacking, though, due to her lazy and forgetful nature.    Leta has crushes on all of her friends, but she’s too shy to act on them, and just ends up admiring them from afar. Only a few friends have noticed, and none have made advances yet.

Today is the start of NaNoReNo, which means it’s also the start of Aetherea. Aetherea is a lesbian romance visual novel in the works for NaNoReNo 2017.

The game takes place in Aetherea - a divine paradise similar to Heaven - where the Goddesses of various skills, crafts, animals, and other worldly things reside. Specifically, the plot revolves around Zuraza (Raz), the brand-new Potpourri Goddess, and their interactions with the other Goddesses as they learn the ropes. In Aetherea, Raz gains goddess ranks, makes friends, and can even date! A total of three love interests are available, and one secret route more focused on Raz. Be careful, though - if you fail to keep up with your duties as a Goddess, you’ll be killed and replaced! There’s a surplus of nonbinary/trans characters, (all of the love interests are nonbinary, and so is Raz) characters of color, and everyone is gay. We are planning to release a demo at the beginning of April. (Release time may be subject to delay.)
