OK, so I've had a bunch of folks ask about #cartomancy or #necromancy , but before things get convoluted, I want to continue sharing insight for those who are trying to get a better grasp on astrology and discovering the unknown that surrounds them.

I've got my birth chart.....

Now what???

Now that you have your birth chart, you probably feel a bit overwhelmed. There is a lot of information to absorb and it all must seem a bit cryptic and impossible to decipher. Don't worry!! Remember, astrology is a complexity that has been around for thousands of years. If you are at the starting blocks, remember everyone started at the exact same starting line.

Start with the ascendant (also known as the rising sign). Quite literally, the ascendant refers to the zodiac sign ascending over the eastern horizon at your exact moment of birth. Though the visual location of the ascendant will vary based on astrology software, it’s usually located on or around the nine o’clock position, and is often symbolized by a circle with a horizontal line in the middle.

The ascendant represents your perception of reality, along with the recurring patterns, themes, and cycles you encounter throughout your life. This placement establishes the architecture for your entire birth chart — when reading a birth chart, we begin at that exact point and move counterclockwise around the circle.

Tomorrow, I'll help you break down the individual sections that we refer to as houses. And I'll give some insight into what those houses contain, and how those contents will help shape you as a human being.
