Art is a powerful tool for mental health, reducing stress and anxiety while fostering mindfulness. It provides a creative outlet for self-expression, helping to process emotions and boost confidence. Art also builds connection through shared experiences, promoting a sense of belonging. No skill is required—just create and enjoy the healing process."

This captivating acrylic print evokes a sense of mystery and eerie beauty. The distorted, surreal architecture of the house is framed by twisted, bare trees and a soft, foggy atmosphere. The muted tones of beige, brown, and grey create an unsettling yet enchanting scene, while the rippling effect on the house gives it a dreamlike, almost ghostly quality. The delicate details of the windows and archway stand in stark contrast to the surrounding fluidity, drawing the viewer into this haunting yet serene moment frozen in time. The presence of a faint golden cross adds a subtle touch of symbolism, suggesting both history and spirituality amidst the decay. This print is perfect for those who appreciate the fusion of architectural beauty, surrealism, and a touch of the macabre in their art.

daily dose of fear
The adventure into the daily dose of fear propaganda that is on the internet accessed by whatever social media you subscribe to.   The medication most people take for this is an escape from reality or leaving social media. The remedy I use is my relationship with Jesus Christ and the gifts he has given me of painting. I mention this because this is my escape and hope for the future. I want to ask you what is yours besides getting drunk or high. The economic struggles that the average person has to deal with are a lot just to keep the roof over their head and food. I pray you are doing ok and remind you to be nicer to people you do not know what is going on in their lives. I sometimes feel like I am the one holding an umbrella over my family to weather whatever we are struggling with. I am also here to let you know you are not alone no matter what the mainstream media says about the economy. One day at a time is all you can get through sometimes maybe even minute by minute
I can go on about holding the government responsible but I think that is a waste of time and breath.  I say draw your foot in the sand stand up for what you believe in no matter what anyone will say do something for someone else each day to put a smile on their face, this country was founded by tuff people that stood their ground and remember you are not alone with the frustration with this country and politics. You can only make a change in your life or someone else one step at a time. One prayer at a time, one positive thing to help your neighbor or family at a time.
Do not forget to keep painting and creating.

imperfect human artist
They said that a piece of artwork reflects the artist's soul. The imperfections within a painting illustrate the imperfection of the emotional picture of the artist. I wonder if this can be seen in AI paintings that are becoming common online. Here are some reasons why embracing imperfections can be beneficial:
Authenticity and uniqueness: Imperfections make your art more authentic and unique. They add a human touch and personality to your work, setting it apart from mass-produced or digitally perfect creations.
Expressive and emotional: Imperfections can add depth and emotion to your art. They might create a sense of vulnerability or evoke a particular mood that connects with your audience on a deeper level.
Learning and growth: Embracing imperfections allows you to view mistakes and challenges as learning opportunities. Each imperfection becomes a chance to improve your skills and gain insights into your artistic process.
Freedom and experimentation: Accepting imperfections frees you from the pressure to achieve an unattainable standard of perfection. This newfound freedom can encourage you to experiment more, take risks, and explore new techniques.
Time-efficiency: Striving for perfection can be time-consuming, leading to overworking and refining beyond what is necessary. Embracing imperfections allows you to finish projects more efficiently and move on to new creative endeavors.
To help you embrace imperfections in your art, consider the following tips:
Mindfulness: Be aware of your inner critic and negative self-talk. Practice mindfulness to observe your thoughts and feelings about your art without judgment.
Focus on progress, not perfection: Shift your focus from achieving a flawless final product to recognizing the progress you've made and the lessons learned along the way.
Limit revisions: Set boundaries on how much you'll revise or edit a piece. Sometimes, stopping yourself from overworking can preserve the freshness and spontaneity of your art.
Appreciate the journey: Celebrate the creative process itself, not just the result. Enjoy the act of creating and the emotions that come with it.
Experiment with imperfections: Purposefully introduce imperfections as a stylistic choice. Embrace art forms like abstract, expressionism, or impressionism, where imperfections are celebrated.
Seek feedback selectively: While feedback can be helpful, be mindful of who you seek it from and how you interpret it. Use constructive criticism to improve, but don't let it overly influence your artistic vision.
Remember, art is a reflection of the artist's soul and emotions. Embracing imperfections allows your unique voice to shine through, creating a more meaningful and personal connection between you and your audience. It's an ongoing journey, so be patient and kind to yourself as you learn to appreciate the beauty of imperfection in your art.

artistic process
My artistic process is self-discovery and self-evaluation. I'm a 55-year-old white female with a passion for helping others. The process of helping others can cause emotional damage and you must have a way of coping. That is how I involved myself in abstract painting. I am not an art therapist but I use art to benefit myself and others.
Getting over the idea that art must adhere to a certain set of rules is the first step. Art or painting intensifies creative expression.
Setting the mood and atmosphere: Different genres and styles of music can evoke specific emotions and create a particular ambiance. By choosing music that aligns with the desired mood of your creative work, you can establish an environment that supports your creative process. For example, calm and soothing music may promote relaxation and focus, while energetic and upbeat music can inspire motivation and productivity.
Enhancing concentration and focus: Music, mainly instrumental or ambient music, can help drown out distracting noises and create a conducive environment for concentration. It can provide a consistent background sound that enables you to stay focused on your creative tasks.
Igniting emotions and inspiration: Music can evoke emotions and stir up memories and experiences. By listening to music that resonates with you, you can tap into your emotions, which can fuel your creative thinking and bring about new ideas and perspectives. The emotional depth of music can also help you express and convey emotions through your creative work.
Boosting motivation and productivity: Upbeat and energizing music can increase motivation and productivity during the creative process. It can elevate your mood, provide a sense of rhythm, and keep you engaged and energized as you work on your artistic endeavors.
Encouraging free-flowing expression: Music can help facilitate a state of "flow," where you are fully immersed and deeply engaged in your creative work. The rhythm and melody of music can create a sense of rhythm and flow within your artistic process, allowing your ideas to flow more freely and your creativity to flourish.
Acting as a source of inspiration: Musicians often draw inspiration from various musical genres, lyrics, melodies, and rhythms. By exploring different musical styles and genres, you can expose yourself to new ideas and influences that can inspire and inform your creative work. Listening to music that resonates with you can spark new ideas or provide a fresh perspective on your artistic endeavors.
Ultimately, music's impact on the creative process can vary from person to person. It's essential to experiment and find the types of music that work best for you and align with your creative goals and preferences.
