I like my villains dramatic. Cape-swirling, knife-smiling, poetic monologuing dramatic.

Every time I say “This character means so much to me,” what I actually mean is “This character walked into my brain, rearranged the furniture, and refuses to pay rent.”

Black coffee, rain on windows, pages of a book curling at the edges — tell me again why people call this loneliness?
That just sounds cozy to me.
I love curling up with a book.
Maybe one day people will curl up with mine.

Wrote this line that I'm really proud of.
----
“No, you don’t.” His voice cracked. “You don’t. She was one of the only ones who ever talked to me like I mattered. Like I was worth something. But you? I’m nothing to you! I might be your flesh and blood but you never seem to treat me like your son when it matters.”

Gentle reminder, that being stuck doesn’t mean you’ve failed your story. Sometimes it means your story is asking you to pause, breathe, and listen closer. Silence is part of the dialogue too. So trust that when the words return, they’ll definitely return much stronger. And remember, you've got this.✨

Okay but this is so real sometimes 😂 😭 🙏
Writing a novel is 90% daydreaming and 10% screaming into the void when the words don’t show up.

how many books will comprise your series?
Hi! Thanks so much for your question!
As of my plans and outlines right now, the main series will be four books long.
However, I do also have plans for side books focusing on different aspects of things. Some of these ideas include pre/post novellas, books from different povs of characters you wouldn’t otherwise see as a main pov, etc!

I love writing badly. Writing badly has kept me going at so many points. Then I look back and find it's not so bad after all
That's so beautifully said. Absolutely 100% agree with this! Sometimes it feels bad because it was hard to get the words out- but then you realize it actually wasn't so awful.
Like, if I wait to write it perfectly, it’ll never exist.
It has to start somewhere!

me: "The plot must go on..."
my characters: "How about we have a conversation that says everything and nothing at the same time..."
me: *internal screaming*

thank you for the ask!!
YES i am interested, please do give more 😊😊
im also curious about what you do when you're not writing? LIKE. yk the advice that's "read different books during free time while writing your story." do you follow that?
thank you again for answering the previous one :)) appreciate it
Yes, of course!!
Well, I also do some art (which of course only really works if you're into making art!) of my characters or sometimes rooms or such to help me visualize a bit better, and that can help. Not always though. But what it DOES always do is allow you to take a step back and work on something else, while not forcing any writing.
Next, which might sound counterintuitive in a sense if you want to keep progress going is actually stop and go back and pick a chapter/scene/etc. whatever to EDIT. Improve upon something that's already done. Delete that unneeded word or sentence, fix awkward phrasing, etc.
When I finish, I feel accomplished because although I didn't complete a NEW scene or NEW chapter, I DID get work on my story done. Editing also forces me to re-read and makes me realize that I can get over parts I'm stuck at (especially if you're editing a spot you were previously stuck on- because maybe it didn't turn out as awful as you thought it did :) !!)
Mood boards or Pinterest boards are good too- just making little aesthetic things that relate to your stories can give you that push you need. Might give you ideas too, since Pinterest is full of ideas.
Just taking a break. You don't need to always keep pushing. It's okay to relax. You don't even have to do something related to the book. It shouldn't be your whole life. Essentially- I don't try to sprint when I’m tired. I reread what I love, daydream little scenes, and let it stir again. Sometimes the flame is a wildfire, sometimes a candle. That’s okay. It all happens in due time :)
As for the second part of your question, I do quite a lot in my free time, haha. I do indeed take that advice- I love to read, so I usually have a book on hand- but I don't force myself (especially if I'm burnt out). It's alright to go out and live, work, play- So I'll do that too :)
But usually at least some aspect of my story is in the back of my mind, haha.
And yes, of course!! Happy to answer :))

I was asked by some of my early readers when I realized this story would be longer than just a book...
When I realized how big the world was. And that no threat is ever one sided.
It was something that just couldn't be fully explored in a singular book.
