A little about me.

Many Authors are asked the same question, how do you come up with ideas for your stories. And the answer for me is simple. I create my stories based on my dreams. For me, writing stories based on my dreams is fun. I make sure to write down the idea as soon as I can and then make notes for plot, character development, and relevance. I believe God has given me a gift and that gift is to write stories that can impact people’s lives. I write about life and most of the struggles we all face. I try to think out-of-the-box and give my readers a look from the inside. It’s easy to be on the outside looking in.

MORE ABOUT ME:

James Owens was born in Orlando, FL in May 1976. James was raised in Orlando until his family moved to Deltona, FL in 1986. James has one sibling, an older sister. James attended Deltona Elementary School, Deltona Middle School, and Trinity Christian Academy in Deltona, FL. James attended Youth Group at Church in the Son in Orlando, FL. Where he received Jesus as his Savior.

James married his wife in January 2005 in Colorado. James served in the United States Army and went to college at the Indiana University of Pennsylvania where he majored in History. James also took online courses at Southern New Hampshire University, where he majored in English with a focus in Creative Writing.

James began his writing career in 2013. James’s writing comes from the dreams he has. James believes God has given him this gift, so he focuses his writing in the Christian fiction genre, focusing on suspense, and thrilling plots. When James isn't writing, he enjoys spending time with his family fishing, watching movies, traveling, and reading. James is a fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Chicago Cubs, and the Pittsburgh Penguins. James’s Favorite Christian band is Skillet and his favorite Christian music artist is Zach Williams. James and his wife have three children, a daughter and two sons.

WRITING:

Writing for me begins when a dream I’ve had gives me great conviction. I will write down details, quickly create a title, and then after a day or so, I will create characters. Then, the process begins. Outlining each chapter, sticking to the plot, and adding the “I didn’t see that coming” effect. I only write Christian Fiction. However, I do write outsie the normal realm that I feel adds intensity to the story. I want my stories to not only captivate the imagination of my readers, but also relate to a character. And having a connection in which it could relate to something in their own lives. Touching a heart to show God never leaves us and is with us in all of the good and bad. God never said the storms wouldn’t come, He just promised to be with us when they did.
