nobody is faking POTS, fibromyalgia or ME/CFS for attention because nobody gives a fuck if you have POTS, fibromyalgia or ME/CFS. these are three conditions people are always accused of faking online (largely because they’re common chronic illnesses and young women are disproportionately effected by them 😃) and it’s like…..look around bitch. when was the last time you saw a fund for a cure CFS walkathon? you ever see a Google banner for fibromyalgia? these are illnesses that suck to have and that you are often treated like absolute dogshit by the medical community and pop culture at large if you do have them. you don’t get positive attention, or any attention at all, if you’re at home laying down 85% of your life.

Poem

Tw: negative thoughts and self-image, blood

soft and fluffy

I could easily shatter every single thing around me.

I don't. I will much rather tear down myself.

Buildings collapse and cover me in my own ashes.

I fall to the ground but I keep and keep falling because the world stole the ground.

There is nothing to hold on to but the cold air stinging my open wounds.

But in free fall blood doesn't drip.

No blood drips down my fingertips.

And who would even look at anything but my hands?

My brain is sick but that's okay because everyone else matters more than my health anyway.

Why do I even need my brain?

Just a stupid organ in my head keeping my wrong body alive.

Just a stupid meatball telling me what to do and don't

Hurting me

Hurting me and hurting me all over again.

And that monster used to be this sweet and innocent little girl.

I am the soft side of velcro

When I get attached to the other side

And get ripped off

I will always break more and lose more of myself

Until I'm not soft and fluffy anymore

And no one wants to hold on to me anymore.

And I know this text is ugly.

It is not as poetic and perfected

Because my brain is the opposite of poetic and perfected.

This is the ugly truth.

And I need to accept it.

Because no one will fix a broken velcro.

They will just buy a new one.

Linguistic borders

"I love you" I say.

But behind these simple three words, do you know how much more there is?

Words are a system

Unexpressive and defined

They show less

Then what is inside

And in me is more than

Just art can express

There's much more behind

That I don't want to hide

How do I say a zillion words with just three?

How do I paint all that you mean to me?

My love is beyond all scientific borders

It can't be expressed through linguistic orders.

So now I am writing

But it is no way

To truly capture what I'm

Trying to say

My feelings are deeper

Than a words ever go

I hope that you know

That whenever I say

"I love you"

It means a lot more.
