i like to cry/laugh about victor hugo's writing style and random chapters spent on random details, but i'm reading the iliad at the moment, and omfg victor hugo as an ancient greek author would be unstoppable. think sewers and napoleon is hard?? he'll introduce every single character's parents and homeland and desires and lovers and,, yeah actually nm he kind of already did that lol

adora from shera might not have been written w autism in mind and her behaviors are explained by her ptsd and INTERESTING upbringing but oh lordy i have never felt so autistically represented in media
i feel like people focus on entraptas autism and im so so happy to have entrapta there but also AUTISTIC ADORA i love her and her stimmy motions and her rigid thinking and her rubbish social skills and her tight planning and her clumsiness.

no absolutely he says some wild wild stuff 😭 i did not expect so many people to see the post bc it is a WILD exaggeration and like wash over everything. he portrays people of colour and different religions in such dangerous ways and it can be so gross to read sometimes. merchant of venice in particular
but i would genuinely say that some of his women are done really well! it's interesting to see how characters in his play are treat some of these female characters vs how the narrative treats them. i personally find that for characters like beatrice, she is being shown as an equal of the men beside her and shown to be just as strong and quick witted and so the play treats them as equal?? even if characters might not or think of her as like "untamed", the narrative doesn't suggest this. which makes me feel like shakespeare is a snapshot of women from the time period and how they're treated by society
lol not that that's true for most of them bc his generic woman is just a meek lover who has no say over her story.
i have a lot of issues with shakespeare, especially his portrayal of poc, but i do like some of the ways he explores gender and gender roles and society
shakespeare is lowkey more progressive than most writers these days and that is a hill i am willing to die on. he lets women be loud and clever and tricky and stubborn and delighted and fierce. AND he has a million little twinks who are just adorable. looking right at u, claudio

there are two wolves inside of everybody except they're not actually wolves and they're really 19th century french revolutionaries. one is locked in and other cannot be fucked because locks rust and dreams die. going to hand over the reins to the second guy because organic chemistry can go kill itself

i love it when writers and composers care enough about the audience to sneak little messages into the lyrics and music that let the superfans listen to it a million times and only pick up certain lines or parallels after their 5th or 17th or 304th relisten
thank you les mis and epic <3

Heloo👋
I am Muhammad Abu Zour🍉🌿
Tumblr media
father of three, writing to you from the devastated heart of Gaza. Our home was completely destroyed in the recent bombings, and we were forced to flee to the south. Now, we are living in unbearable conditions without access to basic necessities.
Tumblr media
The situation is especially critical for my son, who suffers from hepatitis. His condition worsens by the day, and the treatment he needs is not available here. His only hope lies in receiving medical care outside of Gaza.
Tumblr media
My wife Dina is also in urgent need of help. She is pregnant and suffering from preeclampsia, a life-threatening condition that requires specialized medical attention and a cesarean section. Unfortunately, the hospitals here lack the necessary facilities and resources. I fear for her life and the life of our unborn child because of the severe shortages of medical care, clean food, water, and a safe place to stay.
Tumblr media
Adding to our hardship, my 13-year-old son and I were recently captured and tortured for a month. While I still bear the physical scars, my son is deeply traumatized by the experience.
Tumblr media
I humbly ask for your help to evacuate my family from Gaza through the Rafah border crossing. We urgently need to relocate to a place where we can access life-saving medical care and a chance at safety.
Tumblr media
Any assistance, no matter how small, will make an immense difference to us. Your kindness could save our lives, and we would be forever grateful for your support during this dark time.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.🍉🙏💕

i have so much respect for victor hugo and his inclusion of absolutely everything he was interested in in les mis. like bro did not need to give us a battle of waterloo rundown, BUT HE DID AND WE READ IT AND WE LEARNED AND WE LAPPED IT UP. so screw editing. be a professional yapster like the man himself

i lowkey reckon theatre and acting are like the best things you can get an autistic person into. it does WONDERS.
like, you get to socialize in a way where everybody is learning. everybody is new, everything has to be taught from scratch, so you're at an equal point.
and you get to learn how to be confident speaking in front of people and how to project and present and just be comfortable with standing up there and doing stuff!!
also, there are no surprises?? you learn the script and you learn the setting and you learn the context and it's like okay i get what i'm supposed to do and i understand what the director needs. so nice.
AND THEN it's such a tightknit community?? you have your own special language and thing you talk about and customs and just welcoming people and you learn such control over your body and voice and movements and you do it with other people and it's just. yes.
and also?? even if acting isnt for you there is a bunch of tech stuff within theatre that is also super lovely. you dont have to say much, you remain in the background, yuo get your job done and get recognsed but not spot-light reconised for it and just. yeah.
would 110% recommend theatre as a coping mechanism or like a way of learning how to interact with other people because it works, im telling you
