I've seen many people mention how an 'adder' is a snake but has anyone looked up how they literally symbolize 'someone who is treacherous or deceitful,' which ofc is a common symbol for snakes but not always!

My thoughts exactly. I love having a badass/powerful mc, just give them a chance! Different skills we get equipped with dif backgrounds seem like one off, internal monologue in the demo but that's literally just the beginning!.

One of the only criticisms that I do support this early in the game is about mc's implied height difference with the cast. Leander is slightly taller than Ais and yet Ais towers over us? What about people who are above 6ft?But I don't think it's entirely that serious. It's a gothic HORROR romance-Ais' height is a tool for him to seem more intimidating. I'm sure the devs intention wasn't to give us weak, otome girl mc vibes. Not that I'm not a lil disappointed that mc's height couldn't just remain ambiguous; Ais is still intimidating without being taller than us.

imo the mc isn't really THAT weak like others imply. mc just has the regular strength of a human and i think they are capable of being strong but not strong enough to fight against mr chokey and soulless. have you seen how gigantic that soulless is💔 lettuce be honest no regular or even strong person could fight that irl. yes mhin did but it's maybe because the soulless was distracted with mc and because mhin had a knife + mhin is very skilled as said. i know that in most backstories there qre mentions of mc having some knowledge about fighting and skills and stuff wait is it still there or is the hound haunting me anyway even if mc does have skills and stuff their arm jut got chopped off like yesterday and reattached it's still healing💔 and mr chokey literally gone coockoo crazy and the mc managed to dig their fingernails into mr chokeyskin until he wa bleeding but he didn't give a damn be uh he wuh crazy. and the whole soulless scene in general was nessecary to meet mhin and to have an intro to their role as a hunter. and how else would soulless be portrayed as dangerous and life threatening and strong creatures if we could just easily fight one off? soulless add to the dark setting of the game. but still let's have some hope for mc in the full game and hope they will gain some strength because you never know! this is just the demo. hang on to your strong mcs. strong (pleas rss❤️) mc is (hopefully) on its way. may we wait

Side rant, you get the scene where he tenderly wipes a tear from your eye by calling him a killer over a lair (as best as I can tell, with all other options staying the same except that) makes me wonder why being called a liar specifically might hurt him 🤔

I'm just as sad as the next guy about the hound background being replaced with the exile, but more importantly, Leander's the leader of the ADDERSTONE??? bitch WHO??? Devastating.

*not hating at all btw I still love this game to death I just have to grieve the bloodhounds...

UPDATE; with the alchemist background, mc comments "what a curious choice of name...a semi-precious mineral that draws out poison." When looking at a poster of Leander for the first time.

in MY opinion, after falling in love with you, Vampire! Ais would be very reluctant to bite you. He likes your humanity and would want you to really consider what it means to live a life of constant hunger 🥀. But ultimately, it's your decision and he would turn you if you were really set on it. (Que all blood related romance)

If LEANDER was a vampire he'd bite you np. He'd want you to think about it too of course, because he doesn't want you to rush into a decision you're unhappy with, but he's waaayy too excited about being able to love you foreverrr to deny you.

Drabble of Artist, Hound!MC who agreed to draw a portrait of Leander then regrets all life choices

1st person pov, mostly internal monologue *no gender related terms used

..........

"Your clothes are such a pain to draw, why can't you just wear a shirt and slacks like a normal person? That would make my life so much easier." I mutter, like I haven't stayed up until early morning hours obsessing over the gold cuffs on the lapels of his coat, or the exact intricacies of the pin posted above his breast or all of the angles in which his earing might sit against his jaw and oh God shut up. Shut up-shut up.

My eyes wander over his neck. I'm vageuly aware of how long it's been since I moved my hand.

I'm pulled out of this trance when his mouth parts slightly in an unformed question. I panic and choose to squint, pretending that I'm only memorizing every curve in his throat because I'm having trouble drawing it. I erase and redraw his chin a few times for good measure.

As if all of this were entirely innocent, he soaks up my gaze like a depraved dog. His obvious contentment with receiving my attention makes me feel like we're both children-living in a world where lingering glances and small touches don't mean anything; where love is new and simple.

But being young was never that peaceful and succumbing to his charms is humiliating. I doubt he notices how horrible this is for me, not being able to get a grip on myself feels like I'm losing to him. I'm sure he thinks nothing of it. Affection, attention, and sex are all common commodities in his life. Infatuated strangers are dime a dozen

That thought sparks a litany of other thoughts I'd rather forget about.

Yet despite my attempts, this one remains; 'has he ever been loved? Not lusted after or used, but loved?' Maybe that was his plan all along; to force my attention onto him so long that I can't help but think about him.

I wrangle my thoughts back to the damn sketch where they should be. I've made many quick pieces off of portraits like this one and never given the recipient a second thought. This time should be no different.

It's quick work, quick work...easy task, easy...a few quick dashes at the edge of the page to indicate a continued shoulder, a tight section of hard shadow followed by a thin, careful line. Every look up at him only carries meaning if I let it, and still, I cannot make myself draw his eyes. I can't bare the thought of meeting them yet.

I can stare down any man or animal that dares to threaten me. I have ended fights before they start with a harsh glare. I've been beaten so that I may never break. I don't look at myself in the mirror because I don't wish to know what it's like to meet my gaze. Yet still, I know I can be softened by nice looks and welcoming smiles. I know I am undone by kindness and Leander's gaze unravels me, but not because I feel any warmth from him.
