Actually speaking of China/Chinese culture so on so forth, I've still been crushing around watching c-dramas and the one I've been watching most recently is called Legend of Hao Lan. I really like the female protagonist because of how headstrong and confident she is, even telling off her husband the emperor at one point and attempting to publicly divorce him because he wouldn't take her side during an incident where she hadn't really done anything wrong

what makes the u.s. so unique that this is not an event that could possibly happen? also wtf dude, op didn’t say shit about the u.s. on the first post, and you replied it assuming it was abt the us (without actually mentioning the u.s. once in ur reply btw), and then get pissed when a polish person doesn’t understand there could be caveats that prevent abortion from being fully banned in the U.S.?

there are so many weird holes in this argument lol. like the whole rape and incest thing, it can take up to two years before a report can turn into a court case. this is given that a person has the funds to fight a court case like this. also given the success rate of finding and charging rapists, im gonna say that it is going to be very difficult for women in that situation to actually terminate their pregnancy.

with the case of medical exception, who grants the exceptions? do you trust the government to process these fast enough that a mother will not die before this? will it only be in the case of serious risk to the patient? what if the only risk is becoming infertile? what effect of the pregnancy do they draw the line at? if it is only when the mother’s life is in danger, (which makes sense bc if you are trying to preserve life, than terminating a pregnancy is only okay if a mother could die), then anyone like op could never be able to have a child bc they couldn’t get an abortion.

I don't think people realize how some people need abortions because they want to be pregnant. I really genuinely want a child. However, if abortion becomes criminalized, it becomes incredibly dangerous for me to be pregnant. I am physically ill and have multiple health problems that make me susceptible to having various pregnancy complications, miscarriage, and birth defects (that lead to stillbirth). Hell, I have a higher chance of maternal mortality than most women. Banning abortion puts me at severe medical risk. Miscarriage is now under legal suspect and is continuing to be seen as "potential" abortions or just flat out manslaughter; I could be interrogated by the police or even prosecuted in the court of law for having a miscarriage. I could have a pregnancy complication that cannot be resolved because a law prevents me from having an abortion, and I could, at best, be rendered infertile or, at worst, end up dead. I could be forced to go through an excruciatingly long and painful birth so that I can hold a dead infant in my arms because the law wouldn't let me get a "late-term" abortion. The list is endless. Don't let anyone tell you pregnancy is a safe procedure. It is not. Abortion is healthcare.
