got back from work and forced myself to have some 'no work time' (no working from home on my PC, no art fight prepping) and just realised i stared into space doing nothing for 30 WHOLE MINUTES

i cannot convince my ADHD that anything other than work is worth my time and yet when i work it makes it impossible to focus

how do i fix this?? can i fix this??? will turning it on and off again work?

being a youth worker is so weird cuz what do you mean the risk assessment i'm writing needs a plan for 'what to do if we find unexploded WW2 bombs'

so as part of my job i go and clean this bike shop my organisation owns once a week right. it has always been shut on thursdays so i decided it made sense if that was the day i went in to clean. and yet every single week without fUCKING FAIL one of the same 4 people will come up to the window, stare in, squint at me and try several times to open the door.

there is a sign that says closed at eye level, there is another sign with the weekly timetable directly below. and yet... they still practically tear that door off trying to get in.... they are all regulars, they are all well aware that the shop is NEVER open on a thursday and yet i'm still somehow yelled at by middle aged white men every single week.

all in all, it's my weekly reminder of why i quit customer service and why i will never ever work retail or hospitality again :)
