people treat Ging like he already anticipated everything and already knows everything (both in universe and in the fandom) but really what he's doing is more similar to what Gon's doing. although instead of blinded optimism his expectations come more from experience and calculations.
he's mischaracterized by most, especially by Gon and Kite which is what leads to their downfall.

Cowboy bebop episode 4 (analysis)
Summary; if you truly want to make change, you're gonna have to be more flexible.
episode 4 says a lot about terrorism and what separates it from activism, Maria Murdock is the bounty of the episode, and she believes that human kind is a parasitic entity that went too far and should be reverted back to their “ape origins”.
but there is a hypocrisy here, Maria, —a human— would never infect herself with the virus alongside other humans, yet still wants the power to infect everyone.
This wouldn’t necessarily mean that she’s a terrorist instead of an activist, the bebop world is really bleak, I wouldn’t blame the people living in it for wanting to destroy it, but what makes it clear that her ambitions are destructive instead of “beneficial” is that ultimately for her, it is about power.
Had she not infected her own gang member with the virus there’d still be room to argue that she only wants to terrorize humans that are causing the SeaRats to die out, but through using the virus on her crew member for messing up on a previous mission, the episode makes it clear that Maria's true desire is to control.
there is no nuance to her views nor are there any compromises whatsoever, even when the cops cave in to her demands, she still insists on committing a galaxy-wide terrorist attack.
and that rigidness is what causes Marias’ undoing, through refusing to acknowledge and work with the complexities and needs of human society, she refuses to further her "goals". Instead she chooses sadistic unnecessary violence that ends up harming her, and by extenstion, the endangered SeaRats she wished to protect.
And through acting on this perspective, she reverts her self into a simple violent predator — an ape.

Cowboy bebop episode 3 (analysis)
Summary; To receive, you must give.
Faye valentine: do you know the first rule of fighting? It’s to attack first.
Faye is a rash, sly, inconsiderate, mysterious, quick tempered, and wandering legendary gambler with a ton of debt. Thats all we know now
We see all of these aspects of her in her first scene, and then once again in her second scene, and again, and I bet again.
Spike self identifies as generous, so why doesn’t he give Faye the chip? The answer is simple: to receive, you must give.
Through cheating at the game and not letting anyone win Faye betrays this universal rule, so of course Spike chooses not to give to someone who doesn’t.
And through not giving, Faye will not receive, thus our new main character shares the same characteristic as our bebop crew: she remains still and unmoving.
While Spike and Jet remain still because they give and receive all the same, Faye remains still because she doesn’t give and thus will not receive.
And the episode’s ending proves this, Faye steals the 30 million from everyone but she will remain in debt, yet Spike and Jet, though they received a chip that could guarantee them a good comfortable life, choose to give it back to the casino through gambling. “To receive you must give? Well then: To give you must receive.” And to do both is to remain stagnant.

Ch. 29 - Liar Game
“…but the worst of them all… were the vast numbers of people in it who really believed they were doing good, when they were actually deceiving others. They hadn’t the slightest clue what they were doing. Simply because they were trying to avoid picturing just how much pain they were inflicting on others by their actions. Not giving it a single thought. A state of complete apathy.”
“… The true evil is… becoming apathetic about others”

Cowboy Bebop episode 2 (analysis)
Summary; the world is mostly horrible! the cops are utterly useless! yet Spike remains soft hearted.
Theres not much to take away about our main characters from this episode, but there is some world building and some characterization for Spike.
we learn that the world of cowboy bebop is highly dystopian, with a store clerk on Mars telling Spike that he can purchase everything, including humans, on the planet.
and that Spike has a keen eye for niche weaponry like nunchucks, and he uses that knowledge to charm and get familiar with people.
by the way the “pregnant” woman in episode 1 claimed she wanted to migrate to Mars, hinting that it was a proper place to build a family in, and if Mars (a place where purchasing humans is normal practice) is considered an ideal place for the average person, then that paints a rather dark picture for the rest of the bebop world.
despite this we’re shown that not all is gone, there is a fancy wedding! just like Spike said in episode 1, on Mars, people with money can get by. but still the darkness persists… the bounty of the episode steals the expensive looking car right in the middle of the ceremony with no cops or security in sight.
there are 300,000 bounty hunters active in this world, that tells us how useless the cops are. both the bounty and some unethical animal experimentation researchers make a complete mess out of the streets (again with no cops in sight) and they only get arrested because both of them crash into a police station.
Spike, like the self proclaimed animal hater he is, chooses the dogs' safety over the 8 million bounty. Spike is a softy. welcome Ein!

cowboy bebop episode 1
a summary; our cowboys live chaotically still and un-progressing lives with jet being unaware or uncaring towards this, and spike being fully aware and painfully and stubbornly trying to make that stillness last, he wants to remain “dead”.
Episode starts with jet cooking meatless stir fry beef because they’re out of money due to spikes recklessness that resulted in him damaging several things and injuring a police officer.
jet then hooks spike into following a cheap bounty by enticing him in the locations fine food, the scene cuts to spike talking to a Native American fortune teller that tells spike not to underestimate women, we understand from that that its a weakness in spike and will probably lead to his future suffering. we also learn that spike is a bit spiritual, believing in fortunes and such.
after the fortune teller tells spike that he will die spike proclaims “again huh?”, which tells us that he doesn’t foresee a future in his life as he’s already dead, this is then supported in the scene we see at the end of the episode, with jet cooking the same meatless stir fry beef due to them being out of money and both of them falling back into the same routine.
back to the middle of the episode, we see a pregnant woman with the bounty they’re chasing, despite him stealing food from her during their first interaction, spike flirts with the woman and is empathetic towards her due to her being pregnant.
due to his guard being down while talking to her he is strangled from the back by the bounty, when he eventually catches them he sees that the woman killed the bounty she was accompanying, formerly her love interest. this could relate the bounty to spike in a way, with a woman (former love interest) killing him due to his stubbornness.
we then see a shot of the woman’s ship getting bombarded by bullets that ultimately reveals to spike that she isn’t actually pregnant but is the main smuggler of the red drugs they were trafficking, do not underestimate women, spike.
