i don't wanna be on my phone but i need my phone to figure out where i'm going on a walk and i need my phone to get to my audiobook and i need my phone to call my brother and i need my phone to get in touch with my friends which is fine but i don't want to be on my phone.

so i walk and that's fine and i'm using the phone in an okay-way in that moment. but sometimes i am using the phone like it is a weapon and that's stupid because no it's not. ive seen a weapon those are different this is a phone. but it's also in my hands until 2 AM and i haven't slept. at 4AM. i don't even mean to do it half the time i'm opening the phone to check the weather or to check my email which are things-that-are-okay but then i am in my phone for hours somehow, and i missed the dawn while i was on instagram. i don't even like instagram.

i don't want to be on my phone im not good at it so i try to put distance there but then i'm distancing myself from my friends. we meet up in person but my pictures are on my phone and the menu is on the phone (mon dieu) and so is venmo. so i need the phone to be with my friends and that's fine because it can record concerts and fun activities and i can take pictures of them smiling with pumpkins.

but i don't want to be on the phone because i go to look at the pictures of the pumpkins and i hate how i look in it but it's fine. and somewhere between the pumpkins and 3AM i have lost so much time. i don't even know what i'm doing on it only that i don't enjoy it any longer. it is this long blank void. forever and ever. restless like how mushrooms feel restless beside a dead body.

i don't want to be on my phone so i pick up the phone and i type into google things to do in my area and i save them to my phone and i'll need my phone to get to the tickets and i'll need my phone to book the appointment and i'll need it, i'll need it

u know what i miss. when people used to talk about their favorite dinosaur. today mine is the tiny terror compsognathus longipes. their name means dainty jaw. they were, like, chicken-sized. when i was 7 i really wanted one as a pet and cried about it. i assumed we could put a bipedal carnivorous bird-lizard on a leash. imagine walking her around the park. i would name mine agatha.

things r shit but things are also Good!!!!! i know constantly thinking of bodies is tiring, and that there is enough to deal with as is, and listening to people take indirect angles on why-and-what you are like it's a puzzle is also tiring. things should be simple and then them not being that way makes me angry, because i want you safe and content, not stifled and rounded-up

things Will Get Better because they always do (world is cyclical). i hope your dreams are nicer places to inhabit. lets get thru this winter, and the next!!!!!

I know facing this is scary but wearing an kn95 or even better, an n95 will help protect you. so will air purifiers with hepa filters, and nasal sprays like xlear. get a vaccine if you haven't had one in the past 4 months. mitigations really do reduce your risk. r/masks4all will even help you find the right mask for your face shape!

if you get covid, do whatever you can to rest and not strain yourself for about 6 weeks to reduce risk of long covid.

I added a water bottle pocket to my pants!

This came up due to the fact I use Lyft bikes to get around and they don't have bottle holders, so I placed this pocket here because this part of my leg remains relatively upright while pedaling.

Heres the initial proof of concept

But it looked rather silly especially when not in use. It also flopped around a lot when a full drink is being held and I was walking around so I started to look into ways to collapse it and secure it when in use.

First attempt came up with this:

Which looks nice, but wouldn't help restrain the movement of the pocket with a bottle in it.

So I moved to this belt design, using straps I had designed for the pants in an earlier iteration.

And it works like a charm.

Holds the bottle in place, is easy to fold away, and looks nice in use.

Though not sure I like the red and might switch to black straps but I'd love to hear all your thoughts and possible improvements!

FINALLY FINISHED THIS HUGE SKIRT PROJECT

It's very high-waisted, reaches almost to the floor (those vertical zippers are 3 feet long), and it's not wide enough at the bottom to be able to walk with my full stride length. There are a couple chains on the sides that I can grab to lift it a bit so I can walk more easily, but that requires the use of my hands, which restricts what I can carry. (Yes, I know it has 15 pockets, but they can't hold, say, a watermelon.) The solution?

theres bikes around the city you can rent but you have to use an app that needs your drivers license. theres buses that drive right to your destination, but if you dont have change you need the app. you can wash your car here if you sign into the app. you can go to the bathroom here you just have to unlock it with the app that needs your location on. you can order at this restaurant if you scan the code and download the app. im losing my freaking mind
