Things that inspire us:
Rosenthal Tongue by Bethan Laura Wood
Inspired by the combination of the lid and handle on Walter Gropius’ TAC teapot, British designer Bethan Laura Wood created a tea set that is both striking and expressive in homage to the iconic original. A distinctive slender handle, the rim of which protrudes over the lid, and a spout featuring a sunken relief create the linear body of the pot. The teapot lid, with its profiled upturned shape, is in dialogue with the handle. The design marries linear architectural forms with the playful frivolity of the 1970s, creating wonderfully captivating pieces.

Magnet Chair by Arnaud Gauthier
Magnet is a chair in kit whose specificity is the attachment system of the seat thanks to magnets inserted in the solid ash structure.
This system has been designed to allow the chair to be offered in packaging sold flat. The elements of the structure are assembled thanks to trunnion interlockings reinforced by the presence of strong magnets.
Once assembled, we come to fix the steel claw by magnetizing it to the structure, which allows it to take the curved shape.

Kelly Seating Family by Claesson Koivisto Rune for Tacchini
Inspired by the block colours and simple shapes found in the work of American minimalist artist Ellsworth Kelly, Claesson Koivisto Rune has upholstered the pair of padded Kelly chairs in vivid tones. The rounded seat and back of the first chair appear to be formed from one section that is pinched at the place where they join. A giant square back with rounded corners and a rectangular seat of the same width make up the larger chair. Designed for Italian furniture brand Tacchini, both models have thin metal legs and bracing that look like they rest lightly against each other. The legs of the bigger chair are stabilised with two crossed rods at the back, while the smaller seat has a single bar that spans beneath the seat to join the secondary struts on each side.

Things that inspire us:
LCX by Florian Hauswirth
LCX is a minimalist chair created by Switzerland-based designer Florian Hauswirth for Winkler. LCX is a new kind of cantilever chair out of five pieces of bended wood. A fundamental difficulty in furniture making is the transition from the vertical to the horizontal direction. The connections make the main character of this chair. Steam bended wood has a very high consistency and the wood keeps its flexibility. New constructions are possible. In the specific bending technique, solid wood can only bended in one direction. For this reason, the LCX chair is made out of U- and L- shapes. The overlapping X stabilizes the chair and effects a compact structure that works like a framework. The individual parts are arranged in a way that the leg structure is interwoven with the back and creates a seating area. Because of its flexible construction cantilever chairs are ideally for dynamic seating. Traditional handicraft aptitude meets modern unconventional design.

Mezzo Collection by Ionna Vautrin for Lexon
French designer Ionna Vautrin creates for Lexon Mezzo, a collection of small plastic objects composed by a torch, a radio, a clock and the Reed pen.
Like a small torch, Mezzo Light, designed by Ionna Vautrin for Lexon, guides you in the dark and can stand on a table. Inspired by old photographic flashes, its faceted reflector produces a powerful light, variable into two intensities. Mezzo collection featured also a small radio with a vintage touch, which design recalls the archetypal figure of the radio: a long antenna, a copper grid with cut-outs inspired by ancient speakers, basic commands associated with simple and generous shapes giving it an endearing character. Mezzo Clock is little alarm clock with softened forms. Its luminous hands will tell the time in the dark. The alarm can be stopped or repeated with a simple caress. Like a gum positioned on the top of a pencil, the Reed Pen has a flexible and rounded head. It lets out or conceal its retractable mine, or like a stylus, it allows to browse documents on a tablet or phone.

Things that inspire us:
Malmö by Pedrali
The design phase of the Malmö chair is full of handcrafted trials. Starting from the first drawings we have ventured into the manufacture of some study models, exploring the shapes to find the best result in terms of ergonomics. The dialogue with the artisans and the R.D. staff of Pedrali has made possible a detailed study of the project, and a long succession of prototypes drove us to a collection with a warmth feeling, evoking a homely sensation in any architectural context. From 2012 the Malmö family is expanding to new contexts entering in lounge environments, waiting areas and cafes. We create a collection starting from the chair and armchair, now including a lounge chair, a relax armchair, bar stools, tables, extendable tables and coffee tables all made of solid ash frame with tapered legs.

Shaker Workstation by Ladies & Gentlemen Studio for Furnishing Utopia
Inspired by the meticulously organized workstations of the Shakers, we imaged a modern day version considering the versatility and functionality required for a contemporary creative workspace. This mobile secretary-style station features a simple fold-down lid concealing a compartmentalized interior optimized for cord, paper, and supply management. The upper surface allows for an alternate standing position while a wheeled base allows desks to be paired up and moved throughout a space to suit users' changing needs.
This piece was designed for the Furnishing Utopia project, a week long workshop at Hancock Shaker Museum challenging 13 international design studios to conceive new works inspired by the American Shaker philosophy.

Things that inspire us:
Composed Vanity by Ladies & Gentlemen Studio for Dims
Composed Vanity is a minimalist vanity created by Brooklyn-based designers Ladies & Gentlemen Studio in collaboration with Dims. The designers wanted to create a reimagined vanity that was not only beautiful, but also functional and intentional.
The result is a Shaker-inspired piece focused on the concept of humility and living with intention. The Shaker community maintained a daily ritual of caring for others, and would use an array of carefully crafted products and tools. Their penchant for simplicity would come 100 years before modern ‘minimalism.’
Composed Vanity serves as a functional workspace divided into flexible zones for organizing tools and tasks. Without consuming too much space, the vanity contains ample storage to hold everything from jewelry to product bottles. The mirror is adjustable and removable to suit the preferences of the user.
