Why I think the new spider-man movie should be street level

Im sick right now but bear with me

Like if you think about it, tom hollands Spider-Man movies have never really been about him yk, especially no way home and far from home

Sure he’s in the title, but if you really think about it his movies have never been about Spider-Man himself, he’s always wrapped in some multiversal or the after math of Tony starks ignorance and consequence

Legit think about it

Tony stark is his uncle Ben in a way that he constantly haunts the narrative, but not in a way that drives Peter to be better, instead it’s sorta like a Steven universe and rose quartz/pink diamond situation

Anyways

The new Spider-Man movie should truly be about Peter finding himself after he looses everything, about him learning the more mundane ups and downs of being Spider-Man

Cause only a snippet of civil war and maybe a little over 20 mins of homecoming were about Spider-Man being a man of the people

In current mcu he’s always wrapped in some bullshit of a greater narrative, I need a Spider-Man film with tom holland fighting a more street level villain

Not anyone can be under the mask

Augh nobody understands how the spiderman is essentially born from sacrifice and loneliness. The reason he became spiderman in the first place was because uncle ben died.

He got his powers cause he went to the science fair alone/got seperated from the group tour and got bit by the spider. Sure peter has people, but thats it. Theyre people hes close to, those whom he can confide in, but no one truly understands the struggle, watching people DIE because you were too late, watching your girlfriend fall to her death because of YOU.

Having to sacrifice your mairriage to save your last only blood relative left, having been killed ans revived multiple times because your this universes sick little fun play thing. He has all these reasons to become a truly terrible person, yet he doesnt.

He doesnt get to be selfish.

Only time he really is selfish is when he gets the symbiote, which originally is supposed to amplify his emotions and his desires, and even then he was still helping others, even though he was percieved as 'going rogue'

The reason I like peter parker

I think spiderman as a whole is rather a symbol than a persona, like ANYONE can be under the mask

You just have to bear the responsibility that comes w it.

But peter parker is such a different person compared to spiderman

Hes plain, hes often more timid and soft spoken, hes nothing of great notability

But what makes him so appealing to me is because he CHOOSES TO BE SPIDERMAN

He actively makes the decision to go out every night and help people, and even when spiderman becomes more well recieved by the public, he still chooses to keep his identity hidden for the sake of protecting those he loves

He holds his tongue when flash bullies him, he has the restraint to keep his powers in check

Because becoming spiderman requires sacrifice, and peter parker is no stranger to it

Don't get me wrong, I love my yummy ao3 fanfics, watching the devolution of twitter live, my compressed files on Spotify etc.

But as someone who now owns a CD player you better be you're right knee that I'm now going to dickride physical media like chicken jockey
