People might hate me for saying this but I believe the only right punishment for rapists should be them being raped. No amount of torture, pain, death penalty will shake them. They should be violated against their will by a robotic machine which will be devoid of any human emotion, then only then would understand the suffering of their consequences.

It's not a fun post. I also didn't want to use any hashtag so if this has reached you anyways then I just want you all to pause for a minute and think about it. There are several research already which shows how public execution of the criminals might increase the chances of the victim being dead and after spending weeks to understand what might be that one thing which will make the criminals understand the pain they caused the victim, I thought this shall be the only way where they will regret their action. Some rapists regret their decision only because they receive severe punishment but I wish that regret should come because of the realisation how wrong their act was. And it's not an emotional outburst of an event or a couple of events, it's coming after listening to dozens of cases being highlighted in media for a few weeks and then left to crumble into the shameful pages of history just to resurface when another incident happens. I just wish there was something I could do about it.

What I want to achieve by this post? I don't know. What will happen if someone reads it or it goes ignored completely? I don't know. I honestly don't know anything. I just felt too heavy for so long that I just wanted to let it out somehow. The filled vessel had to be emptied.

I love how similar Ae-sun's and Geum-myeong's husbands are. Both have their wives as number zero priority. Gwan-sik chose his wife over his mother and family and Chung-seob didn't hesitate even for a second to choose his wife over the kid when she was in labor. Both are always mesmerised how smart their wives are (Gwan-sik always told everyone that his wife is very smart and literary and Chung-seob is always confident of his wife's business idea and proudly tells everyone that she graduated from Seoul National University). Both of them know how much their wives love their mom. They know that they have their wives' heart but the woman they love have an irreplaceable place in their hearts for their mother. Gwan-sik gifts Ae-sun's mother's home to her and Chung-seob realised that no matter how much love and care he showers, Geum-myeong needs her mother when she's in labor pain. Both the men are so similar and it's so evident how the daughter chose the man who's as much devoted to her as her father was to her mother. Gwan-sik told Geum-myeong's first love that she always used to say that she'll marry her father and she eventually married a man who is so much like him.

I love how much the dots are connecting in this drama. How everything said in a mere fleeting moment becomes so much relevant years later. How Ae-sun wanted to make her mother so much proud and how in the end her mother's face is the editor's face and she sends her a note "I'm so proud of you".

Did you guys wonder how Gwan-Sik accepted Park Chung-seob (the man his daughter marries. Sorry I'm bad with names) sooner than expected? We saw how unwilling he was to even interact with Yeong-beom (Geum Meyong's first love) but for some reason he wasn't hating the presence of Chung-seob. He was grilling him a lot but didn't detest him.

Gwan-sik always told his daughter to come back to him whenever anything goes wrong, when she eats some food (was that a sea food?!) for the first time, when she goes to school, when she decided to take part in the race, when she goes to college, all the time he told his daughter that if she falls back, he'll be right there to hold her.

When Chung-seob was throwing up in the boat, he started following Geum-myeong when she was going to the toilet. Gwan-sik asked him why he follows her everywhere, even to the toilet and his one sentence dissolved all the worries, hesitation and doubts the father had. Chung-seob said - "in case she falls"

The father who always reassured his daughter that he'll pick her up if she falls and she can always come back to him, saw someone else worried that in case she falls, he should be there to help her. And that's why he decided to let Chung-seob rob him off of his precious daughter.

You're a whistle. A human whistle.

When life gives you Tangerines, Ep 4, Gwan-sik calls Ae-sun a human whistle and I wondered what he meant by it. I probably didn't understand the meaning behind it when I was watching the fourth episode but after completing 12 of them, I finally understand what he meant. If you've cooked something in a pressure cooker, you'd get it even better. Have you noticed how the whiste sits on the top of the lid, held in the pressure, weighed by the silence initially when there's a strom stirring inside the pot and finally the whistle pierces the silence.

Ae-sun embodies endurance- the quiet strength of holding through pressure (her whole life has been a series of challenges), through moments where silence feels better than speaking out (she chose to not complain about her in-laws to Gwan-sik to protect the peace in her family). It's like carrying a weight of a lifetime on your chest, tension building with every breath, yet staying composed, holding it all inside. She endured, patiently, through the noise of the world, the expectations, the doubts, the harships, the challenges, the taunts, the failures.

But there comes a moment, when the pressure becomes too much to bear, when the silence you've kept no longer feels like strength but like restraint. I love how the director showed all the instances where Ae-sun screams and runs to save Gwan-sik when people mistreat him beyond.

In such moments, the whistle bursts forth- not with fury, but with the release of eveything you've carried. It's not rash or uncontrolled, it's the echo of someone who has weathered enough storm.

She's a human whistle, a whistle doesn't falter. It calls out when something must be heard. To endure with grace, knowing there's a time to hold back and a time when speaking, after all that pressure, is the most powerful thing to save your people.

Have you wondered why did Darcy choose to reveal the scandal, Georgiana was about to get caught into with Wickhan, to Lizzy when he didn't let this information reach the ears of his closest people whom he knew since many years?!?!??!

He didn't reveal this merely because he was blinded by love and wanted the woman he adored to understand the circumstances. He trusted Lizzy. He was sure that she will keep this secret and will not take any pleasure in dishonoring his sister's reputation. And this trust developed from the instances when he saw how dearly she loved her sisters. He saw her loving and caring for her sisters.

When Jane fell ill at Netherfield, Elizabeth WALKED 3 miles very early in the day, in dirty weather and by herself. She arrived in a state which other ladies didn't approve of but all she cared for was her sister's health and not opinion of anyone else. And then she didn't quit Jane's room even for a moment until she started feeling better.

Darcy must've noticed how she didn't want Mary to ridicule herself at the Netherfield ball by singing and looked at Mr Bennet to entreat his interference.

And when he realised how Lizzy declined the proposal without a second thought because she held him responsible for separating Jane and Bingley, he would've secured his opinion of her being a devoted sister who cares for the well being of her sisters. A marriage which would've been advantageous to her in every aspect didn't make her forget the pain her sister was in. She wasn't at all tempted to think about the proposal.

Considering how protective Darcy is of Georgiana, he didn't make the decision of revealing the true character of Wickham and his wicked schemes in an emotional turmoil. He analyzed and trusted Lizzy with this information because he witnessed her taking care of her sisters and trying her best to secure the reputation of her family. This made him to trust her with the responsibility of maintaining the reputation of his family as well.

I agree with the part that Darcy becomes more respectful towards Lizzy once the realisation sinks in that he was arrogant and insensitive in his earlier proposal but had he not respected Lizzy, I doubt he would've offered her an explanation in letter the next morning. And if I recall correctly, he was quite polite while handing the letter and requesting her to read it. Had he not respected her, he would've ignored her reasoning believing she's just doing that because he didn't acknowledge her beauty and intelligence immediately.

He was very rude immediately after the rejection because he thought his status was above hers and was baffled that someone would reject him considering his wealth and status. It wasn't only because he didn't respect her. He ridiculed her family and connections but not for once said anything about her. But yeahhh, had he utmost respect for hers he wouldn't have insulted her family as well which is seen towards the end of novel.

He was struck with her intelligence when he saw her conversing on different topics at Netherfield. He slowly started acknowledging her beauty and wit. So I doubt he thought she was a bitch to reject him, instead he thought she was rejecting recklessly because of her prejudices.

Someone who loves you truly will always respect you. I was re-reading Pride and Prejudice and this is what occured to me.

Mr. Collins didn't love Lizzy and that's why didn't respect her decision of refusing his proposal. He kept on saying all kind of illogical things, trying to convince her to change her decision, wasn't at all discouraged by her and kept on pestering her to accept him.

He didn't give in to Lizzy's resolve to refuse him. He didn't consider her determined and wise enough to make the best decision for herself. He kept on mistaking her refusal for the affectation and coquetry of an elegant female because he didn't hold Lizzy and her opinions in a position to be respected.

While Mr. Darcy, being truly in love with Lizzy, insulted her connections and status(he surely was very arrogant) but respected her decision of blatantly refusing him. He retrospected the events he was accused of and offered her an explanation but without pressuring her to change her mind. He again mentioned that one word from her would silence him on this subject forever. He believed her reasons for rejecting him and respected her decision.

He considered Lizzy's social status beneath himself but never doubted her intelligence or capability to make right decision for herself. He knew she was smart, accomplished and trusted her judgement. DARCY RESPECTS LIZZY.

WHO LOVES YOU, WILL ALWAYS RESPECT YOU.

We should do the same with men. Interrogate them for the movies we are obsessed with or which are made for us, with us in mind (yeah I'm talking about Babrie) with the purpose of ridiculing them. Try our best to discard their opinions. Doubt them for having a heart and mind which can understand the complexity of being a woman.

When men enquire women when they really like something that's stereotypically linked to men, it is to prove that their taste is superior and women don't know about the thing as much as them. (Men asking about Marvel and DC)

But when a woman enquires a man when he really likes something that's stereotypically associated with women, it is out of curiosity and happiness because the gorgeous gorgeous woman thinks it's cool that a man also likes it. (Us asking about P&P and Barbie)
