You’re impossibly fast and strong. Your skin is pale white and ice cold. Your eyes change color. And sometimes you speak like you’re from a different time. You never eat or drink anything. You don’t go out in the sunlight. I know what you are.
Say it. Out loud. Say it.
Vampire.

So we all acknowledge how racially insensitive it is that the werewolves had to cut their hair but can we talk about how stupid and arrogant it is too. Like Smeyer is really out here saying that the typical short American boys cut is the natural way hair should be on a scientific, God’s intentions level. What would make more sense would be that growing their hair out until it can’t grow any more would lead to a natural length coat in wolf form, while cutting it close to the head would lead to a coat that looked unnaturally trimmed (like idk anyone with a hair cut)

It didn’t feel brotherly when he held me like this. It just felt nice—warm and comforting and familiar. Safe. Jacob was a safe harbor.

“Hey, Bella. I’m Embry, Embry Call—you probably already figured that out, though.” Embry smiled a shy smile and waved with one hand, which he then shoved in the pocket of his jeans.

now seems like a good time to say that smeyer wrote jake to act like he did. characters dont have free will. smeyer threw racist trope after racist trope at him and if people choose to like jacob black as a character despite smeyer doing everything in her racist mind to get people to like edward more, thats their business.

🍎🐺
🍎: of the four films, which are your favorite and least favorite & why?
twilight is number one…hands down. the blue filter, edward’s eyebrows, the entire introduction between bella and the cullens. it’s also the most unique. the others are pretty generic, like there’s nothing making them noteworthy from a directing perspective.
least favorite is probably breaking dawn part one…it’s just..a lot. i hate the baby storyline.
🐺: what’s your opinion on imprinting?
HATE IT! it’s creepy as hell and honestly just used to justify normalizing abuse and grooming. and despite how often smeyer says it’s like a soulmate thing, it functions more like a servitude bond. which, considering the shifters are all native-american, is shady.

Bella turns to stare at the rest of her family. “You’ve never gotten Carlisle a father’s day card?” “Not exactly something high on our priorities Bells.” Emmett shrugs and looks to the rest of them who nod. Rosalie sits next to him and smiles. “We should, I think it’d be sweet.”
“How much are we betting he cries?” Edward raises an eyebrow as Jasper laughs. “If we could cry I’d bet at least ten he would.” Alice smiles. “You guys have fun getting cards, you’ve only missed what? At least a hundred father’s days.” Emmett and Edward frown. “We’re going to need a bigger shop than the post office aren’t we.” Rosalie grabs her car keys. “Let’s go. We can do the calculations on the way up.”
Jasper sighs chewing his lip as he repeats himself. ‘Well since Alice and I didn’t meet up with you since the fifties we’d only have to get, sixty cards, one for each year. Which is one hundred and twenty total, Rosalie and Emmett would have to get seventy-seven and seventy-five respectively so that’s two hundred and seventy two, plus, oh god Edward you have to get ninety-two cards bring up our total to three hundred and sixty-four, should we round up to three hundred seventy just in case?” “If they even have that many cards.” Alice smiles at him. Rosalie laughs. “I sure hope they do.”
The group stands nervously hunched over the half section of father’s day cards. “Not many left.” “Well it is tomorrow, so we’re asking for a bit much.” Alice turns to a worker who’s wandered down the isle. “Can I help you?” “We need three hundred and seventy father’s day cards.” Emmett nods to the woman. Rosalie rolls her eyes and steps forward. “We work with a hospital charity, it’s for-“ “That’s so sweet, I’ll check in the back.” She moves off and the group breathes a sigh of relief.
She returns with two boxes on a cart and hands them over. “Each one of those has about two-hundred cards in it, so that should be enough. Now it’ll be one thousand sixty two dollars and fifteen cents. Card?” She smiles as Edward hands over his. They’re halfway back to Forks when Alice asks if they have envelopes and Rosalie slams the breaks on and swerves to the side of the road ripping one of the boxes open to reveal each card has a matching envelope tucked in the plastic wrapping.
“Oh they’re all the same. I was hoping they’d be different.” “If you want to go back and pick out three hundred and seventy different father’s day cards you can walk back.” Emmett laughs under his breath and they all wait in the car as Alice goes in to make sure they’re in the clear. “Alright we’ll divide up the cards and everyone can sign their own.” “We have to sign them?” “Of course we do, it’d be rude not to.” Rosalie hands each of them a pen. Emmett scowls. “What am I supposed to write on it? I mean he’s not really our dad.” “Emmett you don’t have to write anything besides your name if you don’t want.”
Alice grabs her stack and retreats to her room. Edward vanishes warning them that Carlisle will be home from work soon. Rosalie and Emmett spread out their cards on the kitchen table sitting on opposite sides. Jasper retreats to his room after explaining to Esme what they’re doing. She swears she won’t tell and promises to alert them when Carlisle comes home.
“Rosalie is it okay for me to say ‘thanks for not letting me die from a bear attack?’ or would that be too inappropriate?” “I don’t think it is, I told him thanks for giving me a second chance, after I was left for dead. I’m sure everyone else is doing the same.” She shrugs and tenses as she hears his car pull up. Esme appears in the doorway smirking. “Better hide that kids, or dad will find out.” Rosalie rolls her eyes but smiles as she tucks the cards under her English homework. Emmett panics shoving them into his backpack as Carlisle walks in. “How was school?” “Good. English was boring as usual, we’ve moved onto essay’s now.” Rosalie holds up her notebook. “Really?” Emmett shrinks at his voice as it veers into a disappointed chide. “Because the office called, saying all of you” He raises his voice slightly. Alice and Jasper appear heads sunk on the stairs.
“Skipped after lunch. I understand it’s boring but please try to act like you care about school. You remember what happened when you had to repeat senior year.” “Which time?” Edward laughs as he makes his way down the stairs. Carlisle claps his hands together. “How about a hunt! Charlie invited us to spend tomorrow at his place; apparently Sue and Bella arranged a father’s day party. Isn’t that sweet.” He turns towards the door gesturing as Esme stands next to him. “Come on, we won’t be able to hunt tomorrow. Besides it’s been a while since we had a family hunt.”
The hunt ends quickly and soon enough everyone retire to his or her rooms. Emmett ignores the bed in favor of finishing writing his cards. Rosalie manages to coax him to stop insisting he can put them in envelopes tomorrow. Esme gives them the all clear as Carlisle leaves for work. Emmett rushes over to the table bringing out the envelopes and carefully keeping them separate as he starts to sign the ones he’s stuffed. “Emmett seriously? You didn’t put them in last night?” “I had to make sure I wrote in each one, and then Rosalie distracted me so I couldn’t finish. Well couldn’t finish the envelopes.” He winks and nudges Rosalie who kisses his cheek and helps him stuff the remaining envelopes. “They’re all done! When will he be back?” “In six hours.” Emmett scowls fixing his stack so the corners line up.
Carlisle arrives back to the house to a suspicious amount of quiet. As he steps into his home Esme kisses him on the cheek taking his coat off and handing him a small box. He smiles fondly at the tie, returning her kiss but pausing when he hears strained voices. “Should we have gotten a present?” Rosalie’s voice piques his curiosity as he moves towards the dinning room. Alice and Jasper shoving cards into his face obscure his vision. “Happy fathers day!” he smiles holding a pile of cards. “These are from jasper and I.” Alice beams. “This is really sweet.” “Wait what are those?” he gestures to the stacks of cards on the table. “Well those are from Edward and Rosalie, and Emmett.” Alice points to each stack. “One for each year.” Edward smiles as he picks his stack up and holds it out towards him. Carlisle swallow nodding. “Thank you.”
“Read mine first!” Emmett shoves his forward excitedly. “He’s not going to read “happy father’s day” seventy-five times just for you.” Emmett looks confused. “I only wrote that for one of them, I wrote different things for each one, that’s what you’re supposed to do right?” Rosalie nods. ‘Well yes, but we all had to write at least sixty things, that’s a lot.” “But it was easy? I could fill up at least fifty more with things dad’s done that I appreciate.” “I’ll be sure to read them when I get the chance, now we have a party to get ready for.” As they separate Carlisle sighs and peels open Emmett’s first envelope. -Thanks for seeing something in me worth saving- He sets the card on the table, opening the second one. -Thanks for teaching me how to properly play baseball. - He sighs laughing at the memory before opening the third. -Thanks for not laughing at me when I started crying when you bought me new clothes. - Carlisle turns to Esme who plucks up the three opened cards. Carlisle hands her forth when he finishes reading. -Thanks for making sure I knew I was always welcome with you. - Carlisle looks at the rest of the stack sighing and pushing them away as Rosalie walks in. “The bottom one is the one he spent the longest on. I’d read that one if I were you.” Carlisle pulls the last card free and rips the envelope open. -Thank you for always being willing to teach me more about myself than I have ever known. I truly love and thank you for that dad. Having your admiration and support means everything to me. Thank you, from my non-beating heart, for everything you’ve done and helped me do Carlisle. I will never forget it. –Love Emmett. Carlisle sighs tucking the card against his chest before tucking it into his work case. He places the unopened letters in a pile and turns to Esme who smiles. “It was their idea by the way, no prompting from anyone.”
