If anyone has recommendations pls feel free to share. If you’re in the US remember to use your voice, I know it’s difficult to balance news and health so it’s okay to step back but if you have the option to completely tune out the news with zero fear of your rights(or someone you love) being taken away. That’s a privilege. So do what you can, even if it seems small. And please be mindful of what news you’re consuming/where you’re getting it. And fact 👏check 👏before you share or make your own post/article about it. Know what you’re consuming.

Be safe out there, and most importantly, remember trans people belong in America, immigrants belong in America, LGBTQ+ people belong in America, women’s healthcare belongs in America, black people belong in America. What doesn’t belong are fascist billionaires.

it was a topic brought up at yesterdays local queer meetup but now more than ever its important to reach out to your local queers and build strong community together and have each others' backs in real life (even if you live in middle of nowhere far away, or in an extremely queerphobic place, try finding others in the area via social media)

even if you have severe social anxiety or are really introverted (me too), if you can, please try to be part of (or create) local queer community where you live. you dont have to do public activism if its not safe, but just knowing your other local queers (as local as possible for your situation) and being able to share support and knowledge and information is extremely important in these times

it doesnt have to mean anything else than just getting to know some new ppl. it doesnt have to mean doing public activism or affording to help anyone or any cause monetarily. everyone has different resources and abilities and circumstances, but please become part of the irl community as much as possible in whatever way you can. we need to create strength in organised numbers that we are lacking. even if you just drink coffee with other queers and cant do protests, you being here in the community matters

and obviously. no queer infighting. none. do you want to be alive and see all your queer friends and siblings alive. or do you want to whine about minute details of labels and self expression. focus all energy on the actual evils of the world who are against equal human rights for everyone everywhere always. that is the issue.

This is a reminder that it’s OKAY to be afraid, it’s OKAY, to feel what you’re feeling. This is YOUR life and YOUR emotions. This January has been so stressful and emotional for so many people, I kept pushing my emotions down because I have regular non-government related issues going on and I felt like I had to be strong for the rest of my family this month. But thenI remembered I’m an 18 y/o queer girl who is scared. I’m brave, but I’m tired and overwhelmed, and I think admitting that is difficult. Difficult, but important.
