I have been keeping these turbulent feelings inside me for a long time and it is time to let them out into the outside world..

All the sorrow that my people are going through is simply unimaginable and indigestible.

There were times when I had gray days filled with deep thoughts that I could not stop, about what our fate will be.. and whether we will even be able to survive all of this..

And in every corner at any given moment, anti-Semitic terms are mentioned on social networks and everywhere else in the world, our brothers and sisters in the Diaspora are attacked daily for being Jews and accused of many blood feuds.

And we might as well pay attention to this, because every time there is a rift in our people, a hole is created that can be penetrated and harmed more easily.

If only we were united.. Love each other unconditionally.. True brotherly and sisterly love.. We could have been saved from so many atrocities, throughout Jewish history.

From the Babylonian exile to this day, our people have been persecuted by enemies, and it is in the power of brotherly and sisterly love to repair the hole that has opened and prevent disasters.

✡️ SAFETY BRIEF for the Shabbat Observant

Chief Rabbinute instructions with Risk Adjustments and sensible advise

YOU MUST, due to risk of life, prepare a shelter and know how / where to shelter at synagogue, AND HAVE WAYS TO GET THE WARNINGS on Shabbat.  It can be done without violating Shabbat, see below.

➡️ PREPARE YOUR SAFE SPACE before Shabbat: unlocked, lights on, A/C on, phone in there (plugged in or on a power bank), water, metal window locked in place.  Children?  Snacks, mattresses, toys.  Closed toe shoes advised.

➡️ SYNAGOGUE SAFE SPACE, AND ARMED MEMBERS:  Armed members a very good idea everywhere.  Pray at a synagogue with a protected space or one very close by that can be reached in time.

➡️ SAFE TO GO TO SYNAGOGUE?  What if there are sirens on the way? Know the nearest protected spaces on the way.  IF HOME FRONT COMMAND SAYS STAY HOME, then stay home!

➡️ CHILDREN, ELDERLY, DISABLED? If you can’t move quickly to a protected space or have multiple young children - not safe to go.  Do the children know what to do if a siren happens?  Practice it!

➡️ CARRY YOUR WEAPON, even without an eruv.  Pepper spray, legal-size knife, legal gun. People are trying to hurt us.

➡️ CALL POLICE, DO NOT HESITATE !! - If anything suspicious, or a rocket fall in the area - CALL POLICE immediately!  Dial 100, you may save lives.

➡️ IF SIRENS, SHELTER EVEN IF IN AMIDAH OR TORAH READING

— If sirens are heard in the middle of Amidah or Torah, go to the shelter.  After, restart - others rule to start from where you stopped. 

— Can’t get to shelter, LAY DOWN, all the way, hands on head.

— Per Home Front Command, wait 10 minutes before exiting shelter or getting up - for a national missile emergency, STAY UNTIL INSTRUCTIONS TO LEAVE.

➡️ MONITOR FOR ALERTS via Silent (Shabbat) Channels - which will now also announce early warning and enter and exit of protected space.

BRING A PHONE, with alert app, WITH YOU TO SYNAGOGUE.  The extra time is needed to move to shelter.

✡️ It is a mitzvah to take actions to protect and save and preserve life on Shabbat, not a violation.  But ONLY actions which do so.

🇮🇱 The difference couldn’t be clearer. In Gaza, civilians chant “Hamas out” while Hamas hides behind them, openly admitting its tunnels protect terrorists, not civilians. In Iran, civilians chant “Death to Khamenei” even during war—because they know Israel isn’t targeting them. Iranians don’t need bomb shelters.  If Hamas didn’t exploit civilians, Gazans wouldn’t either.  But Israelis do—because their enemies deliberately target them. Israel targets terrorists. Its enemies target civilians. That's the difference.
