He doesn't realize he's still got his pop's old jacket on until his best friend, Steve Hays, is looking at him all worried-like, and Smokey calls out, "Why are you repping Curly's shit, Rusty-James?"

Rusty-James waves off the answer with a shrug, pulling the jacket up further on his shoulders as he gets a chocolate milk from Benny.

Smokey and B.J. are shooting a game of pool, or about to, both with cues in hand, but the balls are still racked. Midget and Steve are both settled in a booth; well, Midget is. Steve looks like he's got ants crawling up his legs. Probably working himself up over the jacket.

"What's the word about Shepard twins? You know anything about them?" Is the first thing Rusty-James asks as he sits on top of the seat next to Steve, his best friend, accepting the chocolate milk to set on the table without even looking.

Midget tilts his head as he thinks; he knew most of that kind of stuff, and he was good at recalling it when he needed it. Smokey and B.J. abandon their cues to come crowd the table too, clearly wanting in on the newest scoop.

"Ain't that Curly? And that widow on the other side of town. The pretty one who killed her husband- oh shut it, I ain't calling Curly pretty." Midget waves off Smokey when his mouth opens, not even giving him the chance to call him queer before moving on. "I don't know her name, but she's real fierce. I saw those two, Curly that is, together a few years ago and thought they looked like siblings. If you're looking for twins, I think you should look at them first."

"What's going on, Rusty-James? You gonna give a man a warning before you get tangled up in allathat?" Smokey asks, poking at the jacket until Rusty-James smacks his hand away.

"Cool it, man; my uncle's back in town and trying to reconnect with some old friends. He's a real cool old cat my pops ran with."

"Back in town? Who'd wanna drag their sorry ass back here? And to meet with your old man and some hopped-up junkie?" B.J. leans in curiously; Rusty-James can see the same curiosity in Midget's side-eye despite him pretending to not be interested.

"Someone who's been in prison for the last ten years, that's who." Rusty-James grins as he climbs back out of the booth, deciding it might be more entertaining to go track Tim down to give him the information.

"Where ya goin?" Smokey calls out, Rusty-James can hear Steve's footfalls rushing after him, and he holds the door to let him out first.

"To go see my uncle."

A multimedia femslash prompt meme for all tokusatsu series and films. From Kamen Rider, Super Sentai, Power Rangers, Ultraman, Kaiju, Sukeban Deka, and even the most obscure Showa-Era toku out there you can think of. If it's in the tokusatsu genre, it's welcome!

Runs from August 20th until October 31st.

Thump thump thump the sound of his heart, thundering in his ears, nearly drowns out the sound of his shoes hitting the pavement beneath his feet. The world is a blur; all he can think about is getting home- back to his mama, or Victor. His mama would make everything better.

His shaking hand is pressed as hard as he dares against his side, burning pain flaring up with every step. He's somewhere; he doesn't know exactly where, relying on muscle memory to get back onto safe territory.

He stumbles- he falls, hands flying forwards to stop his fall on instinct, which has him crumpling from the sudden jerking pain. He gasps out harshly, fighting to breathe through the pain, curling his back down and pressing his hands both up against the steadily bleeding wound.

After a moment he shudders out a breath; his whole body is shaking and weak. Fighting the dragging need to lie down, he tries to assess where he is- maybe he could garner the energy to keep going if he was almost there.

His knees were wet with cold, gross trash water, a stark contrast to the hot, tacky blood that's drenched his side. He looks away as quickly as he can, feeling lightheaded and overwhelmed at how much blood was in a human- how much blood was no longer in him-
