Lavenderbriar

OKAY SO this is Lavenderbriar, one of the mcs of a warriors comic I am still planning out… She’s actually an apprentice when introduced, but her warrior name holds no secrets.

A soothsayer in the story is basically the same as it is in real life — a person who can supposedly see the future. There’s only one soothsayer throughout the clans, and Ashclan was lucky enough to get Hushvine, and then Lavenderbriar(after Hushvine’s retirement) as soothsayers. After Lavenderbriar, the next soothsayer is in Elkclan, but he’s really not important.

Weedpaw is trained as a warrior and not a soothsayer — hence the “secondary warrior” for Lavender. Also because Ashclan is fairly small and needs as many warriors as possible, and also because of another reason that I can’t say.

Jayfeather

here are some things to know about my Jayfeather design:

yes, Jayfeather is a biological male calico! trans Jayfeather hc does sound cool but in my opinion it doesn’t fit. specifically speaking, he would be a calico sokoke tabby. and of course, he is 100% sterile!

he is partially based off of the Eurasian Jay and Eastern Tiger Swallowtail Butterfly.

there is a STRONG tortie-calico gene in the FireSand line, as seen in Sandstorm, Leafpool, and Jayfeather. and if I made a Sparkpelt design, it would be seen in her too.

just to clear up where this trait came from — in my hc, Sandstorm was born to Dappletail, Runningwind, and Redtail(poly cats my beloved). considering that Redtail would be sterile, Dappletail and Runningwind are obviously Sandstorm’s biological parents. therefore Dappletail carries that strong gene.

I had to do a LOT of searching because I didn’t want Sandstorm biologically related to Redtail. at first I wanted to do like, one of his siblings being a surrogate with their own mate, but then I found out that Redtail is Tigerstar the I’s uncle. and that would be weird because Squirrelflight ends up with Brambleclaw….. so if I had went with my original idea, Sandstorm would’ve been Tigerstar’s cousin or sister and that’s just… no.

droopy ears come from Crowfeather obviously, except Jayfeather’s are more droopy because in my hc he’s significantly more weak physically and has a condition that affects bone development and cartilage(Osteochondrodysplasia). Crowfeather and Lionblaze also have this, just a weaker form. and with Lionblaze, it isn’t even obvious because of his powers. the only other character that will have this(that I currently have a design for) is Dovewing.

TLDR ; too much thought went into Jayfeather’s design.
