A pessimistic college student gets paired with her crush for an assignment and finds the courage to tell her how she feels with the help of her enthusiastic best friend.

Such a cute, but rough around the edges film. Yet I can't help but wonder how much of it is the director leaning into the retro-afterschool special vibe.

What happens to butch dykes when their health fails and/or they die? There are some things that need to be considered in advance (cocks, exes, clothes...) . I made this as a way to make light of my current situation.

So thought provoking for such a short film.

The life of pioneering singer Chavela Vargas is chronicled through never-before-seen interview footage and testimonials.

This hit me in the feels like nothing. So awesome to see a butch lesbian just be so beloved. And brag about shacking up with some big name starlettes of the time to boot😄. That sad, her life is far from perfect and the documentary covers some dark but honest territory.

My Thoughts: This short film hit really hard. About grief, identity and belonging. It hit me way too hard.

Breakout Room, Directed by Jayson Jaskeran

The semester has begun and Kiran’s lecturer decides to split the class into trios for their semester-long computer programming project. Kiran is paired with his BFF Miranda and a newcomer, Midas. What started off as mutual hatred slowly turns into something beautiful.

It feels like a digital scrapbook with zoom calls, stories, chats and other media used. A cool way to do a character study for today.

This film contains imagery of pages from a very large scrapbook that I kept when I was a teenager in the 1990s for just over five years – my personal private archived of images that in many ways helped to shape my understanding of (gay) male desire at a time when I felt too uncomfortable to come out as gay.

This was weird but I liked the first 10 minutes. What about y'all?
