I got in the mood to draw Evelyn again, and I thought it'd be fun to redraw one of my oldest drawings of her!

#dragon quest #dragon quest xi #dqxi #dragon quest 11 #dq11 #oc #fan oc #digital art #artists on tumblr #art #oc art #evelyn you will always be famous #for making me change my approach to character design bc of the ungodly amount of belts you wear <3 #i actually rewrote her dialogue for this somewhat #to better fit with the specifics of the situation in which she joins the party #i like the original dialogue but my vision has since changed a bit #the og dialogue makes it seem like more of a casual decision which it's really not #evelyn at this point in her story is mostly interested in self-preservation #so for her to abandon her solo lifestyle to travel with a group of weirdoes is not an easy choice for her to make #but oh man does she have a strong gut feeling that she has to go with them #not only has to - she wants to go with them #but she doesn't want to believe she's grown even a bit attached to the party #so she justifies it as the pragmatic long-term decision
