my sister is currently in the funniest predicament where her roommate for next year is trans and both their previous and current names were listed on the info page. their preferred pronouns were listed next to one of the names, so she (incorrectly) assumed that that one was their actual name and the other one was their deadname. but NOW she keeps forgetting their name altogether because, under the assumption that it was a deadname, she completely obliterated it from her mind

imo the dumbest hit dog hollering line from the mra crowd on here is when trans men get criticized by trans women and try to claim that they're being unfairly singled out for being transgender, and that the trans woman is being transphobic by doing that.

if i, as a disabled woman, complain about disabled men being misogynistic towards me, it's not because i'm singling out disabled men as being worse perpetrators than abled men. it's because i am in community with those men. i rub elbows with those men on a regular basis. their misogyny towards me ousts me from my support structures. it means that i am unsafe and unwelcome in a space that is explicitly intended to protect me from bigotry. i am specifically tangibly harmed by that specific vanguard of misogyny, moreso than i am faced with other types of misogyny, because it is occurring in a space that claims to be protective of me. my upset would OBVIOUSLY not be because i particularly hate disabled men - but because i hate misogynistic men, including those who happen to be disabled. if i were to complain about misogyny in disability spaces, it would not be me wielding ableism against poor innocent disabled men but rather a disabled woman rightfully describing and complaining about her specific oppression at the hands of her peers.

hey so actually when a woman points out that men hold systemic power over her, and that they frequently wield that systemic power to be misogynistic towards her, and then you as a man jump in to say "not ALL men are misogynists, and i'm offended you would imply that! if you think that's a reasonable thing to say, then how would you like it if i called you a hysterical bitch!?" then you are in fact the guy wielding his systemic power to be misogynistic towards her lol. she was not actually asking you to demonstrate her point but you're doing a great job of it

I must commend trans men's ability to harness every misogynistic trick in the book. Weaponized incompetence, manspaining... they do it all!
