My Pilot Marvel Comic!

Clover Hale AKA Bubblegum is the girl in pink and Willow “Ria” Winston AKA Lemure is the ghost :D

Both are girls from Atlanta, Georgia and mutants. Clover Hale watches over Downtown Atlanta and aspires to be a singer, but she struggles between her dream or the vague idea of stability of possibly attending an engineering degree at the city’s college at the end of her senior year, and she tries to twilight as a superhero in order to vent her frustrations where she can’t at home under the pressure of expectations, unknowing of the expectations she’s further putting herself under by donning the mask.

Ria Winston is a mutant who originally grew up in the suburbs of Atlanta in the 90s and early 2000s and was sent to Xavier’s School for Gifted Youngsters for her flourishing mutant ability of portal creation. However, she was caught up in D-Day as one of the few with powers remaining, but she chose to leave for fear of the more demanding and harsh environment of the school. On the bus out of the school, she was caught in an attack from an anti-mutant group that resulted in the explosion of the bus, but her portals saved her just in time to get out, but not at the risk of her limbs and most of her body, and she was unable to create another portal to exit. This limbo her portals intervene acted as a housing dimension of ghosts, transforming her into a ghost while also tethering her ghost to her body, making hero unable to die or move on. Nearly 20 years passed before she managed to scrounge together an exit portal— still, she remained with no purpose except for a brewing grudge against Wanda Maximoff, the one who she believed was to blame. Unsurprisingly, her crude attacks were nothing compared to that of the Scarlet Witch, and with several Krakoans on her tail to bring her to justice, she fled back to her home town, hoping the lesser concentration of superheroes might help conceal her while she sorts out her complicated new (un)life.

Clover’s actually the main character here even though Ria is more fleshed out because I felt like the character dynamic would be more interesting that way.

Spider-Man has ruined my view of the world. I asked my mom if Empire State University was a good college and she asked “what’s that?”

I opened up my phone and realized ESU, in fact, is not a real university, but a work of fiction Stan Lee apparently made up because he didn’t want Peter going to a real college.

I was considering applying to a school that did not exist all because Spider-Man media made me think it was real.

I actually have old fanart of this exact concept! (I had to dig this out of my sophomore year notebooks 😭)

Basically, the idea was that he was a PhD grad student around the age of 28, and he’d be working in a lab part-time to also get access to more of ESU’s resources for his doctoral dissertation or whatever it’s called. He would be engaged at this point if we assume that he would get into his accident within a couple of months-ish of meeting Peter. Anyways, I totally think he would help make Peter’s transition into college slightly easier, but for the most part is probably too busy to actually get close to him before he gets turned into a pseudo-vampire.

Spectacular Spider-Man probably would've introduced Morbius as a lab assistant to Miles Warren and Debra Whitman, and would've helped turn Mac Gargan into The Scorpion.
