for ppl who don’t know how to make a rp last longer than the 12 hour period when people are sending in accounts, you sure do take this shit too seriously. 

goodbye to being creative. goodbye to having an opinion. goodbye to a solid, creative place to talk with friends and strangers and roleplay till the sun comes up. but this roleplay trend has been dead for a while. y’all are just too into it to pretend it’s not. 

that being said, congrats to anyone who has a successful roleplay, 1x1′s, small groups, and more. 

but everyone else who just keeps waiting for the next best thing from rp i really hope you find it because it’s a great thing. 

prove bitches like me wrong! make something amazing and beautiful, and to ur “standards”. care about it, but not so much that it consumes ur life. be dedicated and passionate but don’t forget about the shit that really matters. 

having a rp w/ a pretty theme and graphics is one thing, but don’t forget that what really matters is what your write. that is the point of rp. not pretty shit. 

also i didn’t read all ur other comments i just know ur team lets all reblog the same dumb response with ur dumb ass small font (aesthetically pleasing obv!!! can’t forget to look good!!!) to seem cool and like you’re part of this amazing community bc lemme tell u, ur not fooling anyone. 

there’s nothing wrong w/ just roleplay w/ ur friends!! that’s awesome :))) but also if you’re in a public group it’s totally not cool to ignore people who y’all don’t know. which ik you do :)

you’re a bad roleplayer if....(:

ok here is a list of ways you’re a bad roleplayer!!! this is to help you!! if you identify with anything on this list, just try to better yourself and become the better roleplayer you want to be. this isn’t to offend anyone!!! if you’re offended byEEE. 

if you only know how to roleplay one gender! “i don’t know how to roleplay a boy!” or “i don’t know how to roleplay a girl”....that’s a bad excuse to not grow as a roleplayer. all different genders have been becoming more and more popular in roleplay!! it’s awesome to see everyone being able to see a character, or play a character, they relate to! everyone is being represented! if you don’t like playing characters of different genders, that’s fine. but not know how to is just an excuse for not trying. 

you care more about your theme and graphics than your character! don’t spend 14 hours putting together a theme and then start roleplaying with a character you know nothing about. if a bio says something, expand on it. if it’s an oc, write your own bio. write your own connections! there’s nothing wrong with going the extra mile with your character and theme, but it’d be better if you were to give as much time (or more time) to your character than your theme. 

you only play one certain type of character, you just change the names! sure playing a character you’re comfortable with is fun, but why join a bunch of roleplays if you’re literally going to be playing the same character in each of them? maybe they can be a little similar, but exactly the same? that’s no fun. give your characters different characteristics. don’t be afraid to play someone who is into reading books or sports when you usually play the character who is always being a bitch or doing drugs. do something else for a change! 

you judge people or characters based on the faceclaims they use! y’all, don’t act like i don’t KNOW miley cyrus is being problematic lately. i know. that doesn’t mean any character who uses miley as a FC is problematic (but isn’t that fucking good if they are?? like start drama IC that’s dope). at the end of the day, all of the gifs and pictures we use as characters can literally be replaced by pepe the fucking meme and that won’t change anything! the character is still being portrayed the same way!! if you roleplay and hate a character JUST because they use a FC you don’t like, you’re a bad roleplayer. you are not plAYING THE ROLE. 

you get offended OOC for something happening IC! YO guys, 9 out of 10 times, if a character says something racist, homophobic, transphobic, literally anything offensive, it’s because of the character they’re playing. not because they’re any of those things out of character. you can’t expect a rich white character who lives in the south to understand the concept of racism. that bitch thinks racism ended when her daddy lost his slaves! but the person behind the screen, maybe a POC living in the north east, understands that. we can’t allow ourselves to forget about the ugly people in our world just because people of roleplay are politically correct. allow a conversation in a roleplay about race, allow a character to cause drama by being a fucking idiot. let other characters side with them, or just not say anything, or let it be. thats what it’s like in real life. play a role, don’t let it consume your life out of character! 

you stick to the same genre! living by the beach is cool but do you really need to be in 35 roleplays about it? explore your options. do supernatural, do horror, do fantasy (is that super natural???), do something that you’ve always found interesting but never really had the chance to explore because some people don’t think it’s a good idea. i promise you that out in the roleplay universe, someone will think your idea is great. you might only have a 1x1, but at least you’ll be getting to try something new. don’t be afraid to be different.

hi rp! i’m just making this post to promote a small until dawn roleplay we’re doing. everything is of course AU (this does not mean that what happened in UD won’t happen again, but there’s a chance everything can and will end differently!) if you’ve never played until dawn or watched a walk through, i would suggest reading a synopsis of the roleplay and the characters! you definitely do not have to have the game or have watched a walk through to join the group! 

the characters have different names and fc’s. most of the relationships between characters are the same, but we are mostly just basing our characters off the main characters. what happened with hannah and beth still happened (they still have the same name), and they are still returning to the cabin one year later. 

we have characters based off the following already: sam, emily, josh, and jessica. this means we still need matt, chris, mike, and ashley!
