Closed until March 2016

We are closed for the season and will re open next March. We are taking a longer break from opening every 3 months to keep the wait times shorter. Next time we open we will be taking full costumes only but non padded ones this time. As much as we love to make padded costumes they also take the longest amount of time to do. We want to make sure we can complete our current work list without crazy delays so we will have to take less orders next time and non padded costumes in March. After March we will re open 3 months later for another batch of orders.

We will re open for new orders soon

A few people have asked when we will re open and the answer is end of the month. We will be filling orders for the 2017 first half of the year. If you are interested in a quote or getting a costume from Mixedcandy be sure to have your concept art ready. If you do not have concept art we can help you by linking you to one of the 2 wonderful artists that works with us. We will be taking full costume commissions only.

Website will be going through a few changes to get it looking more like a full website over a blog style site. Fox Auction:

Realistic Fox partial made by Mixedcandy only worn once (for a few hours and fully sanitized) Hands and tail are brand new.

This partial auction includes:

-Fox head as seen in the photos with a fully articulated jaw. The head will fit up to a size 23.5 inch diameter head (this is a very common size) Eyes have a slight 3D effect and will follow the viewer. You see out of the eye ducts. Breathing is done through the mouth but air will also flow in through the nose and eye ducts. Head is compact and excellent to partial it around or travel with. Has a zipper entry in the back, and adjustable staps inside the head to tighten or loosen the head (if you have a small head the straps can be tightened to fit you). Head is padded for a comfortable fit.

-Hands have 4 fingers and a thumb. Black claws and black paw pads.

-Tail is brown to match the fur color on the head with a white tail tip. All long pile. Has a belt loop hole to wear with a belt.

This fox was done to partial, it looks great with clothing and was made with the idea of being a good and easy travel costume. The head is very light, very easy to wear and great vision and breathing. Resin head base was created by DVC furred and finished by Mixedcandy.

New dogs getting their final touches today. Working on quite a few others to complete later this week including a brown fox and realistic wolf. Quotes are currently closed. Email responses are going out

Still sending a lot of email responses. Finalizing all the new orders that were sent in, waiting on a few responses and sending more out. Dalmatian full costume up for auction (this week only)

Brand new dalmatian costume by Mixedcandy. Photos show the hands, head, collar and tail completed. This auction is for a full costume meaning the winner gets a body that matches the already made parts but made to fit your body. Feet paws will be completed to fit winner as well, you choose if you want hard sole feet or paw pad feet. We are giving 2 options of body patterns (non padded body).

Body/feet paws to be completed within one month once duct tape dummy has been received. Duct tape dummy will be needed if you want a body completed, please keep that in mind.

We ship world wide.

We accept all sorts of payments but need full payment within 48 hours of auction ending.

Head, hands and tail are universally sized and will fit anyone. If you have a smaller head please tell us to pad the head up a bit for you. Vision is out the eyes, ventilation is out the mouth and eyes. Hands have 3 fingers and a thumb and are stuffed. Tail is meant to be worn with a belt. Costume can be worn as a partial or full costume. Ears have weights at the end of them making them flop when you walk or tilt your head.

Working hard this week finishing quite a few costumes. Avery the wolf was shipped out, worked on a green/brown dog body and finishing a few more. Today’s work consist of getting a black and white husky completed along with a brown wolf. A few others need to be photographed and shipped by Saturday or Monday.

Everyone else who has already submitted will be emailed in the next few days. Slowly recovering from a cold I have had so getting back into the swing of things. Updating twitter daily and trying to keep our instagram up to date as well. Instagram is still very new so we will slowly be adding photos to that account. If you would like to share a photo for the account be sure to email us so we can share it on there.

The process we take after the 30% deposit is in

After being accepted for a commission we ask for a 30% deposit of the full amount quoted. This is the process after the 30% has been received.

Timing of Work We know you’re excited, so let’s go over the way our work is scheduled before we get into the rest of the nitty gritty:

The 30% non-refundable deposit that you’ve already sent in is to reserve space in our batch of work that will begin in the second half of 2016. We expect that this group of characters will start to appear in our workspace in September or October, but keep in mind that not every one of them will start at the same time. There are more than a dozen that will be staggered throughout the season, stretching well into 2017.

On average, each costume that we create takes roughly two months from beginning to completion. When you first start seeing updates about your suit, you can roughly estimate that we’ll be wrapping up and shipping your completed costume about 6-8 weeks later.

We do not honor specific dates of conventions or any other events as deadlines for our work. However, if you wish to request expedited shipping as the costume near completion we’ll be more than happy to rush it off to you as soon as it’s ready.

Duct Tape Dummy An accurately made duct tape dummy is crucial for us to build a costume that is custom fit to your specific shape and size. While we will need this on hand before any tailoring can begin, we urge you to send it closer to the time that work on your group will start. This will not only help to ensure that your dummy closely reflects your actual sizing, but will also help us by cutting down on the risk of it being mixed up with all the others in our workshop. If you’d like to mark your calendar, anywhere in the month of October 2015 is the ideal time for us to receive your dummy.

Payment The remaining balance of your order needs to be received at or before the time that you send your dummy to us. Payment in one lump sum or as regular installments are both totally acceptable. To make it easy and convenient as possible for you, we accept payment in all of the following forms: Check Money Order Western Union Electronic transfer from your bank Paypal

Electronic bank transfers cost $15 within the US and $30 for international for each transaction.

Changes to Character Design If your character undergoes some design changes between now and the time when we start building, that’s no huge problem. Just try to keep us informed well in advance so we can adjust and/or so we have plenty of time to gather materials we might need. Please understand that if your character design changes dramatically from what was approved, we will have to re-quote the work and will automatically move your order to the end of the group to compensate for the extra time involved.

Progress Updates The best, most reliable way to find up what’s happening in our workshop is to occasionally check our social media. Twitter is by far the most active of our accounts. That’s the best place to find frequent behind-the-scenes glimpses at what’s going on as it’s happening, but we invite you to follow our Facebook page as well. Delivery Because each costume is custom built, shipping costs can only be figured once everything is completed. Our preferred method of shipping is USPS and includes tracking and insurance. We will ship the package and invoice you for the exact total afterwards.

If you want a service other than US Postal, we will have to have it quoted and paid for in advance of sending.

Overseas shipments must pay for all taxes and duties. Please contact us directly so we can work with you on these details.

OPEN FOR NEW COMMISSIONS

We are open for commissions to be worked on the second half of 2016. This new round of orders will be for full costumes only. Full costumes include: head, hands, feet, tail and body.

Our costumes start at $3300 and go up from there depending on complexity, patterns, fur choice and overall details. 

We will remain open as long as we have slots open. It is not a first come first serve basis. We will go over every submission and pick the ones that fit best with our style.

Don’t have a design? Want us to design it? We love artistic liberty designs and would love to take on more.

Please allow up to a full week for us to respond to your quote/order form. If you do not hear from us after 7 days please email us back to make sure your email made it through. Fill out the order sheet fully to have all the information needed and please remember you must be 18 years of age at least to request a quote.

Mixedcandy has slowly getting revamped starting with this tumblr. The tumblr will be the main page for the time being so expect this account to be updated quite often. We have linked all the places you can see we post such as twitter, flickr, Facebook, youtube and more.

We are getting ready to re open for orders May 1st, so in just a few days you will see the quote/order sheet posted. We are only taking full costumes this time, and new slots are to be completed sometime fall/end of the year 2016. Spots are not first come first serve, we go through all the submissions and see which costumes best work with our style. We want to provide the best costumes we can, so we need to make sure your concept art mixes well with our style. Don’t worry if you don’t see an example of a certain creature in our gallery, we are always up for challenge so send us your concept art.
