Imagine you’re a raider, slacking off on guard duty, blowing cigarette smoke into the warm Mojave air when you catch a glimpse of a NCR ranger in the moonlight. But something isn’t right, his clothes are too dirty, and worn, riot gear says LAPD instead of NCR, and he isn’t carrying a service rifle.

Then you realize it, it’s the Courier, the guy that got shot in the head and walked away, the guy that strung legionaries up on crosses, got the NCR to sign a treaty with the Kahns and play nice with the Kings, the first person to enter the lucky 38 in the past 200 years, you thought it was just NCR propaganda, myths told by junkies high off jet, but no, he’s right there, and he’s looking at you. Before you hear the crack of rifle fire a chunk of wall next to your ear explodes, sending shards of concrete into your eyes. Then, before you even have time to react, your brain is splattered against the sand.
