Choral Tapestries
unorthodox realizations
(sighs under breath)
mystical murmurs
embrace my chakras
(stimulate, numb)
claiming surreal vistas
acoustic arrival, melodic survival
words splayed across
a frenetic universe
pull an invisible, silver chord
(imagined tangent point)
recreate, deviate norms
releasing a tangerine aurora
ivory-dawn, fog-blanketed skies
cascading along coastlines
beneath snow globe mountains
imperial icelandic lilies of the valley
northern lights, optic flights
a thousand million nights
of relapse, reoccurrence
recovery of sonic sorcery
infinite arcs form halos
choral tapestries
(majestic angels gleam)
orchestrate lyrical testimonials
restore enchantment
presence of a very calming place

Section I : Introspect
In the first section of Lyrical Therapy: Dynamic Perspectives we go to a vulnerable place where only the truth resides. In my journey of growth I have found it beneficial to face the truth of my past to reconcile with my present state. We all have something that we are facing but at times we find ways to avoid it. Whether it be the TV series we watch, social media, our mobile devices or even our own social lives — we find distractions. These distractions lead us to further ourselves from what is really happening within. How often do you ask yourself the tough questions?
Why am I here?
What is my purpose?
Who am I ?
How did I get here?
Who is in control of my destiny?
These are the questions that we often times avoid because they carry the weight of our existence. In a world where we adorn the vain it is time that we look into ourselves for answers. The world has been deceiving us for far too long, its time to confront ourselves with the truth.
There is healing in introspection, there is also a harsh reality that comes along with it. If you are going to deal with everything else you might as well deal with yourself.

You Are Poetry
create to create
express what you must release
stealth is fearlessness
art in the face of paralyzing fear
rawness of each fallen tear
revealed in an act of bravery
nakedness of emotional slavery
feelings are nearly impossible
to manage, to understand, to direct
there's no practice, it's all performance
love's joy and pain, jubilee and loss
set a stage for drama laced with trauma
trust the integrity of your honesty
to beautifully, authentically portray
your story, your lens, your depths
allow your openness to blossom
shower us with every petal
as it blooms then falls from your heart
know that you, you are poetry
and every day of your life is
another page, another poem
in passion's diary

The fate of the faithful…
We all believe in something, but how many times has that very thing let us down? Whether it is our aspirations or even our faith, we all have shared the taste of disappointment. We are inspired by love and passion, the motor to all that we do derives from these elements. Our fate depends on where we put our faith. Continuing to be faithful to love, art, God, and our beloved mankind will root us in any endeavor we take on. Yet, we are faced with disappointments that are self-inflicted due to the lack of commitment and passion. Nothing is given! We must be committed to our failures before we can attain success. The process requires us to be very persistent no matter the result. It is no one’s destiny to quit, but to continually equip ourselves with life experiences.

A troubled past of a hopeful future…
We all have potential, but some of us rely on it to manifest destiny. We have an inheritance to a kingdom hence why we carry royal qualities. But somehow our history always ends up missing—half-truths of a troubled past. Celebrating the martyrs who advocated our freedom and marched toward a hopeful future, but have we let them down or are we suffering the consequences of their revolution? The world has many indifference’s to reconcile with us. The environment is polluted, and our minds have been diluted with whitewashed truths. As we continue to make plans, it becomes more obvious that they are futile. We can only go so far in oblivion, in an imminent future our problems will continue to exist. We need a paradigm shift for the sake of courting a better tomorrow. If not, we are chasing a red dress mistress as our future withers away. Victims on every corner and accusers at each avenue. The world is reflecting our brokenness as we walk on shattered glass pieces. We are bleeding the tears of the past, expecting man-made advancements to advance us. Our precious time is neglected since our own systematic structures have enslaved our minds. There is no easy way out, we must take the time to heal ourselves and the world we live in. For those of you that are conscious of your history and direction, you will be mocked. You will be identified as tree huggers, illegitimate, ignorant, and conspiracist. Remain faithful in lieu of the trouble of our past. Let’s focus on our hopeful future.

I am me…
I turned my negligence
Into my current intelligence
My family values have brought me value
The nurture I’ve received is my identity
I’ve become a personality far more than an entity
Through my ongoing development
I transform into an adult from adolescence
Now when I talk, the crowd feels my presence
From a germ sperm
To a young boy who can learn
To a man who is just trying to earn
Developing through a life span
With life’s task at hand
A journey with many stages
From a fetus to an aging man
Every day, with a chance to grow
On the boat of life continuing to row—
As a young child
I heard Dad go wild
With anger and humor
Mother had a gentle heart
That father tore apartI am me
The image of my father’s genes—I am me
A reproduction of glowing personalities
I AM ME!

Wounds
So many wounds I bleed from the flesh My soul awaits in a tomb Wrapped in my own inequity My smile is a mystery This same charm has caused me harm Love is a pawn, a sacrificial piece To retain is to give a part of me
It gets deep
Willing to figure it out Can’t help but have my doubts I’ve been let down and the bearer of bad news I’ve also been the one they say— “Hmmm, he ain’t nothing but bad news” You know those type of dudes Walking around knowing they got plenty to choose Switch women like women switch shoes In the midst of that, I’ve lost myself An esquire palace robe stained with none else Top shelf vineyards finest Drunk on my own highness In reality, I am below For I fear my own sentiments My feelings revealed when I am hesitant Vulnerability scales on the Richter I’m taking all my baggage on vacation Claiming to be free Doomed with frustrations My fate, faith, and complex of where I’ll someday be Will I be alone—A castaway? I imagine being with you Because I can be with you Giving me to you and you taking a part of me Realms of intimacy could be unveiled to us
Have we really prayed for us?
To learn trust in the abyss of our own insecurities Heal from our own misery to create new history Intercede for the right to breathe in each other’s breath To overcome love and to no longer be deprived of it Is like overcoming death Overwhelming, yes, but I thirst love To drink from her milking breast Inebriated on her chest, I beg for her neck Wanting more than I can handle, eating at her flesh All this to confess that I am not healed yet…
