Through this blog, I will share with you how I'll try to reduce my meat consumption until, fortunately, removing it completely from my diet. My journey will start on Tuesday, January 1st, 2019, with the beginning of a new year.
Don't wanna be here? Send us removal request.

update on the diet
Hello guys !
I’m sorry I’ve been pretty absent from here lately. I thought that with the beginning of the new year that I could deal with college, internship and future preparations, the new diet, personal issues and the creation of articles for this blog. The truth is that I’ve been pretty busy lately, and that I completely changed my strategy in terms of eating less meat.
I decided to start drastically, doing one week without meat for starters. It’s been two weeks now, and I’ve only had meat in two meals. I feel very proud of myself.
I will update you with more details on my diet in the next post, that will probably come on Tuesday since I don’t have any classes that day. It will be the new official posting day, but everything will be cleared out in the post.
Thank you for your patience, xo.

updating you
Hello everyone,
Today (12.30.18) I’m preparing the last details for the beginning of my no meat diet. I’m looking for cooking books with easy vegetarian recipes in it. If you have any suggestions please comment in this post, because I’m looking for a book that I can get before I leave for four days in London, on January 3rd.
I also want to wish you a Happy New Year, since I don’t think I will be posting until then, and I hope you’ve spend a very good Christmas at home with the people that you love. I have, and I’m very thankful for that.
Looking forward to talk to you soon, see you next year !

more about my journey
So as the title of this post (and the title of the blog) explains, next year I will be going through some changes in my diet and I am going to explain you why in details.
Why this sudden change ?
It is actually not sudden because I’ve been thinking about changing my lifestyle in terms of food for a while now, but still I’m going to explain you why.
For a while now I’ve been concerned about the environment in different ways possible : how is the summer so warm ? How is the winter arriving so late ? How is it possible that some animal species are endangered today ? All those questions are deepened by famous content creators on social medias that are using their communities in order to alert the population on the planet’s current situation. Plus, we have to deal with one of the strongest’s countries’ president (that I won't quote - unnecessary) that doesn't believe in global warmth and is doing all he can to make his country great despite the risks for the environment.
Scientists have warned us : if the world’s population doesn't change its behavior within TWO YEARS, the planet will be seriously damaged at a point of no return. And all of this justifies my choice : even if I represent a tiny little part of the world, I wanna show my commitment into protecting the planet I live in, by reducing my consumption of meat, meat production representing 15% of the greenhouse gas emission, and also being a water waster (for 1 kilogram of meat you need approximately 7 900 quarters of water, which is huge).
Besides the environmental issues, I’m also concerned about animal treatment in slaughterhouses, but I’m not going to last long on that as it is hard enough for me to mention it (and so to think about it).
Finally, it is also a gesture for myself that I’m doing. I’m not gonna lie : I love meat. I eat loads of it through burgers, pizzas, typical French meals, etc... temptation is everywhere, specially in a globalized city as Paris. But I realized that eating that much meat is not that healthy, and I want to start to take care of myself.
Why now ?
As I mentionner earlier, our days on earth are being counted. Our planet is hurting, and we all need to move our asses before we completely destroy it. The “natural” disasters are a proof : ice melting, ocean level’s raise, storms and earthquakes... our planet is crying for help.
I also chose the new year as a resolution that I feel I’m finally ready to lead to end, which would be to completely remove meat from what I eat daily.
How am I going to do this ?
Through this blog, and through the weekly posts that I’ll be releasing, I will explain you how the diet is going to be happening. But, to sum up quickly, every week I’ll be removing one dish made of meal and replacing it by a vegetarian one : for example, instead of eating a cow burger, I’ll be eating a soya one... I will be doing that for seven weeks, removing one more meal each week, until I don’t eat any more meat at all.
By the end of those seven weeks, I will post a special article about my personal feelings, and also a medical report that I have programed to see if the vegetarian diet turned out being beneficial or not.
The articles will be organized like the following order :
One first part about how the past week went, with the exact number of meat portion I’ve had and how I introduced the vegetarian meal ;
One second part about all the exact dishes I’ve had per day ;
One third part about what to change or not for next week ;
And one final fourth part with the recipe of the vegetarian dish I introduced.
Every post will be released on Sunday nights or Monday evenings.
Now I hope I will be able to succeed into this tough journey, and I’ll will see you really soon,
Thank you, Jess xo

more about me
Hello everyone and welcome to my blog. This isn’t my first Tumblr blog but fortunately it will be the first one that I’ll manage to run correctly.

My name is Jess. I’m 19 years old and I live in Paris. I was in fact born in Paris either. I’m a student in Applied Foreign Languages, studying English and Spanish, which explains the fact that I’m creating this blog in English. I also choose English because it’s my favorite language to use and also because part of this journey will be taking place in London : it’s where it starts, and I’m moving there for the summer (normally) for a three-months-long internship.
I usually use the words “open-minded” and “creative” when I have to describe myself, and it’s true : my experiences in the world and my interest for arts made me a very understanding and open-minded person. I believe I’m a good listener, and I like to feel useful to my friends and my family. I like to give advice, and usually people like to get my advices.
My creative part comes from my love for handcrafts, I love using my hands in order to do something pretty and creative : writing, drawing, painting... and other things.
I’m very passionated about music, it’s one of the things that makes me move forward in life. There is not one day that I spend without listening to a song. Currently, when I’m writing this post, I’m listening to “Doing Alright” by Queen, my favorite band in the world since I was very little.
The other things that I like doing are writing, talking in the numerous langages I can speak (French, English, Portuguese and Spanish), hangout with my friends, taking pictures (photography is also one of my passions with music, and I’ll probably post a few in the next posts) and travelling.
In the next post, I’ll explain to you the reasons of my journey and how it’s going to happen specifically. I hope you’ll be numbered to follow my journey (that I will share also on my personal Instagram account through posts and stories) and have a good rest of day/night depending where you're from.
xo, Jess
