In honour of release of the @shadowandbone Netflix series. Although I fell in love at first sight (or read) with the Six of Crows duology, I couldn't really appreciate the S&B books when I read them for the very first time. I recently reread the trilogy (in preps for the show xD), and was delightfully engrossed with it. *Pride and Papercuts by Staci Hart* ❤️ It's not an easy task to retell the story of Pride and Prejudice. There's a reason it's called the best romance novel EVER. I never thought any book based on P&P could ever come close to the original, but Pride and Papercuts might just have done it for me. Staci Hart re-enacted the chemistry and tension between Ms. Bennet and Mr. Darcy fantabulously. I was a fan of their quibble and witty dialogue exchange. The only thing I didn't like about this adaptation was with the first interaction between Liam and Lainey. It felt ...forced. Like the author tried too hard to make their conversation similar to the one between Darcy and Lizzy, and couldn't come up with something more original. Lainey's character was delightful, and the quirky bookstore was something out of a dream for a booknerd like me. The marketing ideas were also quite cool, if you'd ask me. The Bennet's family dinners were quite entertaining. Wish we could have had more of them. Overall, I'd rate this book a solid 4.5 star. "If a person cannot leave a mark, do they exist?" The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue ✨ Where do I even start? I'm pretty sure this is the best book I've read this year. And the plot was REALLY unique. I wanted to know how the books ends as soon as I began reading it, but I wasn't prepared for it to get over anytime soon. It was heartbreaking, maddening, dark and magical. When we first met Addie, I wasn't sure I was going to like her. But with the development of the story, the growth of her character was admirable. I loved reading her POV, loved seeing different parts of the world in different eras through her eyes. The way she fought against all odds, and did not give in even when she was on the verge of breaking was admirable. I wanted to hug her tightly at so many points in the story. "That’s the whole problem, you’ve never felt called to any one thing. There is no violent push in one direction, but a softer nudge a hundred different ways, and now all of them feel out of reach." Henry was the character I could relate to the most. The indecisiveness, the way every path seemed to have a pull on him, how his emotions could overtake his mind at times.. everything was so familiar and described in such detail, I think I'll keep quoting his dialogues for the rest of my life. And what can I say about Luc? Grey characters with dark hair have always been my thing. Can I just keep him for myself? Snce re-reading this book a few days back is kinda what motivated me to create this account, it's only fair that I talk about 'Work In Progress' by Staci Hart first.

A book blogger and a writer in a marriage of convenience? Count me in.

Although the circumstances for their marriage wasn't all that convincing, I loved Amelia and Tommy's meet-cute romance.

Amelia's crippling social anxiety was totally relatable for me. I initially liked Tommy but his hypocritical behavior turned pretty annoying after one point.

I was totally immersed in the book for about 85%, but it kinda went downhill from there. The conflict was quite obvious from the beginning, and it dragged on for far too long.

Overall, I loved the emotions this book generated and I loved the general vibe, but couldn't look past the overdramatic aspects of some scenes.

Ever since I discovered the alternate universes one can find in books, they have been my escape - from boredom, sadness, loneliness, anxiety, and sometimes reality. The pleasure of curling up with a book and getting lost in a world of words is unparalleled. These words have taken me on journeys to far away places, where I've met different people and had amazing experiences.
