I want people to realise the damage misinformation online has caused to these characters without doing proper research. Let me repeat the obvious:

Medusa was always a Gorgon

Had a consensual relationship with Poseidon

Was never Athena's priestess

Athena isn't a villain

Her story was like any monster in a hero's journey to fulfil based on their circumstances

Polydectes pressured a young Perseus to do it, so be could forcibly marry Danae

Ovid 800 years later changed her story because he was exiled from Rome by the emperor and took his frustration out on Medusa
