Helloo. You've been getting a lot of asks about this, this anon's very interested in poison. Fang-on?
You have the mechanics of the fangs pretty solid. Good job.
As for the venom getting into places that aren't the bloodstream, venom rarely ever is injected straight into a vein or other blood vessel. That requires a lot of precision. In reality, venom usually ends up in the tissue fluid around your body. It's the bits of blood that get pushed out of the capillaries when arterioles split off into them given the size difference. Some gets reabsorbed, some doesn't. What doesn't get reabsorbed there enters the lymphatic system as lymph. Lymph is added to blood once its gone through the lymphatic system. So, if venom gets into the tissue fluid, the venom will enter the blood at some point even if it's not directly.
can you explain how Chelido fangs work? how his fangs can inject venom like that? is its have something in his fangs why its can inject into target without fail? where his venom liquid came from and how he peoduce his venom? if his venom got in someone body with high dose what going to happen to that person and if his venom got in someone eye and mouth what will happen? can you explain in detail? (sorry for many question i really want to know about seviper can you tell me about Chelido power please?)
I can try only my best, biology was never my strongest suit.
I’ve said his fangs are similar to a syringe before. His fangs each have an opening at the bottom for the venom to be released from and have a tube of sorts connecting to a venom gland. This is what produces his venom. My understanding of it is that there are grooves in the fang where venom can be stored like the barrel of a syringe. When he bites onto something, pressure-sensing nerves cause the muscle above the fang to contract and this pushes venom out like pressing on a syringe’s barrel. Flushes the venom out the fangs and into whatever the openings are in.
Chelido’s venom, as a procoagulant, promotes the formation of blood clots. I imagine a high concentration would lead to a large clot in the injection site. That’s going to go poorly for whoever’s affected: blood cannot flow properly; muscles will not gain oxygen, tissue will die. Instinct says it would not be good to get into anywhere in your body, though I do not have a reason as to why. I suppose whatever the venom is made of that causes the clotting could cause other reactions elsewhere.
Don’t worry! It is nice to be of service while legal processing occurs. I do regret not having all the answers. A lot of this would probably be good to know… Hmm!
@scrollinscrollinscrollinscrollin if you are available, do you have any extra knowledge you could share please?

Yes. Sorry about that. Good advice though.
Love people on this site who really like a type/egg group/family of pokemon and you just start associating them with it
Oh shit a __. That’s my mutual right there.

Psa thing
You should pet your clodsire, but don’t forget to wear gloves
Domesticated clodsire may enjoy physical affection but that doesn’t mean you should neglect your own health. Remember, they’ll be sad if they send you to the ER by accident

I'm just saying all those memes about men spending ages thinking about Hisui did the Galarian History Museum & Natural History Museum more good than either's usual advertising has in years.

I'm apparently seen as a clodsire to @shineshineshineallnight

Clodsire are known to submerge themselves in mud for warmth, especially during winter. Although clodsire are not mudkip, this could be a way the question is meant to be taken.
Young Paldean wooper who do not follow this behaviour are sometimes forced into trying it as clodires will play Whack-A-Woop, using their tails to bonk the wooper into the mud.
@shineshineshineallnight asked:
Mudkip - Do you think being submerged in mud could fix you?
You’ve mentioned working with clodsire before. Maybe you will have some understanding of this.
Personally no. That sounds bad.
Should I be insulted by this? It feels like the standard response to someone comparing your mind to a clodsire's with how much people say they have "no thoughts".

I feel like I am doing that and enjoying it a lot
Would potentially helpful information about clodsires and mud make it better?

Tepig - What are some of your favorite foods? Which ones do you crave the most?
Gummi filled chocolate eggs. The museum sells bags of them in the gift shop. They are so morish. I always have 2 bags in my room in addition to the bag I eat so I have reserves.
I have been craving octillery shaped hot dogs and pasta though. Salty savoury goodness.

Breloom is very cute I want to hug its but I heard that thier spore is pretty strong so it's not safe to hug it's right?
What do you think?
Trained Breloom, like Helena's Jinx, are usually better at controlling their spores. Wild Breloom tend to have a spore cloud around them by default, it's an excellent defense mechanism, but trained Breloom do not have that constant worry about predators.
I've hugged Jinx before, she's a cuddler, but if you encounter a Breloom in the wild give them a wide berth so you don't accidentally fall into their spore clouds. :)

Shit right I have a blog.
Peb knows his name. & sit. & down. & food. & water. & come. & ball. Prolly more things I am forgetting. He likes cuddles. He headbutts a lot. He barks at my speaking things at work.
Besides that I'm still here. Just about.

Good Morning!
Now give me one fact about fossil Pokémon or you’ve failed.

I take it it’s a touchy topic. Don’t worry.
Course! This is vaguely what my job’s all about. Phytocystatins are protease inhibitors specific to the cysteine proteases (the cyst bit of the word). Phytocystatins specifically are found in plants. The phyto- prefix means plants.
👋
Is your Chelido named after the chelidonium family? It’s rare to see them mentioned.
... I can't lie, I didn't know about the plants until I hit twenty. I knew it was a protease inhibitor and venoms sometimes do that so I went all in, so to speak. I will not consider renaming him to something suitable.

I would never ask you to. It’s a nice name without any context. Most people won’t know it’s a phytocystatin, you can omit that part and just say he’s named after a part of venom.
