THLASWB is officially removed from a03, as to not interfere with the publishing process.
Death of the Author is still on sale for $5.98 & will probably be for a while until I can be bothered to change the price lol

I always thought that Visions by Saintseneca was "Abiel's song" but uhm I didn't want to tween so that's why the animation is so simplistic ;~;

agh you're so kind!! thank you :D i was worried how it'd be received/what kind of response it would get, so im glad it has such a big impact on someone (which is the only thing I want to do as an author)
It's crazy how many people use Death of the Author to mean "separating the art from the artist" when it's actually not supposed to have anything to do with who the author is as a person and is supposed to be about the idea that the author's interpretation of their own work should not be seen as the definitive, correct opinion on that work. Like you're not supposed to invoke Death of the Author when JK Rowling devotes her entire life and fortune to transphobia, you're supposed to invoke it when Trent Reznor says Closer by Nine Inch Nails isn't a sex song.

I had no idea he said that wtf 😭 I rlly like his books but after some allegations came out abt him I'm very iffy on him as a person
has anyone else noticed there's a weird prejudice in the reading community for longer books compared to novellas/shorter novels or is this just me lol? like some ppl rlly act like it just bc their book is 1423948 pages it makes it somehow superior??

that was the post that prompted me to make mine!! I wish I worded my original one a lil differently but yeah I saw the post & remembered interactions I've had with other readers & how they put their larger books on a pedestal just because... it was longer... while also making me feel like what I was reading wasn't "as good" as theirs bc of the shorter length

Loving THLASWB on AO3, but wanted to check if you were still going to do a physical release?
Thank you!! I will still be doing a physical release in September --- the 70 chapters on a03 is just a teaser & will have to be taken down at the end of August as per Amazon's rules.

i'm gonna be honest i read up until the "...and edit everything and fix it all & move on to the next idea" and was like "I hate editing too" and hit reblog 😞
I appreciate the concern tho, haha ^^
I have this novel that I've been working really hard on but the problem is I've finished it and now I don't have the energy to go back through and edit everything and fix it all and I'll probably just end up moving on to the next idea and forget about this piece of writing that I poured any soul into but like its okay because I've done the same thing about a million times

Additional Information --- (I have to upload individual chapters, which takes some time)
Chapters: 5/? Fandom: The Holy Lands are Slick With Blood, THLASWB Rating: Teen And Up Audiences Warnings: Graphic Depictions Of Violence, Major Character Death Characters: Abiel, Antares, Francesca Additional Tags: Catholic Guilt, Gay Catholic Guilt, Childhood Trauma, Gay, Slow Burn, Enemies to Lovers, Paganism, Implied Childhood Sexual Abuse, Implied/Referenced Child Abuse, Implied/Referenced Self-Harm, POV Multiple, POV Third Person, Religious Cults, Religious Imagery & Symbolism, Religious Conflict, Corruption, References to Ancient Greek Religion & Lore, References to Christian Religion & Lore, Misquoting the Bible (Abrahamic Religions), Original Universe, Original Fiction Summary:
A critique of modern-day religion, where God is no longer being worshipped but people such as Father, who twist words to fit his own ideals, are. He preaches from the very book he slowly rewrites, changing lessons and virtues to scrutinize those who will never be good enough; people like Abiel, who want nothing more than to be a faithful man. Abiel, who is willing to overlook hypocrisies and scandals to be validated and manipulated, for that is the only form of love he truly knows. Yet when he realizes first-hand the true extent of suffering their religion inflicts, his blind obedience is shattered. He may never go back to it. He can either move forward, knowing what the church is capable of, or he can defy all that he was taught.
Antares, the adopted son of the Oracle, is rumoured to be a hero. He has won the hearts of the townspeople, yet he has done nothing worth praising. He is beloved for the thought of his greatness alone. Jealousy and tension will brew, and violence will spill over. After all, no hero truly has clean hands. There will always be stains that even their reputation cannot explain away.
