Neurodivergence isn’t just ADHD, autism, anxiety, and depression. (Plus those last two also get left out sometimes!) Neurodivergence is anything that affects your brain.

“Neurodivergent people hate loud noises” is actually just as valid as a statement as “neurodivergent people have delusions,” “neurodivergent people have tics,” or even “neurodivergent people have low empathy.”

Hi, yes, hello, I am the aforementioned wifey and I am SO EXCITED to be sharing this with people!!!

So, it's jus a theory, but I first came up on it in the Muppets Reddit and I'm absolutely in LOVE with this theory.

Essentially, Muppets occur in any species when a specific mutation of a gene that causes "muppetry" is triggered. It can happen in any species and can appear in vastly diff ways depending on genetics.

There's no real basis for this in the films, but there was a MAD cartoon where something similar was proposed and a large part of the fandom have jus sort of ran with it lmao it's one of the easiest ways to explain things like Walter and his brother, one being Muppet and one being human while still being biologically related AND sharing similarities in appearance.

It's also super important to keep in mind that this theory crosses over from what most people think of when referring to The Muppets (Kermit, Fozzi, Gonzo, Piggy etc.) and includes the puppets within all of Jim Henson's work (including creatures created by the Jim Henson Creature Shop) such as Labyrinth, Sesame Street, and Bear in the Big Blue House.

I’ll never understand why anthropomorphic animal cartoons like Robin Hood and Zootopia will go to the trouble of creating character designs that are meant to be understood as “attractive” or even “sexy” to the human audience but explicitly avoid showing interspecies romances between anthropomorphic animals. Why is THAT weird but, like, trying to make rabbits recognizably sexy-coded to humans isn’t?
