WHUMPTOBER 2025: PROMPTS LIST

Welcome to Whumptober 2025 — The Eighth Year!

WHUMPTOBER is a month-long, prompt-based creation CHALLENGE (think: Inktober, but whumpier). There are four prompts for each day of the month, giving 124 for you to play with! There is also a list of 18 alternative prompts that can be subbed in for any day to give participants as much creative freedom as possible.

All prompts are meant to serve as inspiration without being taken literally (e.g. you don’t have to include the exact wording of prompts into your work). Feel free to run rampant on interpretation. For example, if the prompt is “flame", you could create something with reference to a candle/campfire, your character could have suffered a burn, or the flame could be a reference to an ‘old flame’ - an old relationship. It’s truly down to you!

You can produce work in any media you choose, including but not limited to: writing, visual artwork, photo/video/audio edits, paper crafts and elaborate recommendation lists (not just a list of links). You can participate as much or as little as you want (i.e. you don’t have to do ALL the prompts if you don’t want to) and prompts can be used in any order. They are also free to use even after the event ends.

Please make sure to read the Event Info and FAQ carefully, as most of your questions will be answered there already. For everything else, you are welcome to come to our ask box or ask questions in our Discord server here.

I know that when it happened; the literal actual cliffhanger of MoA and subsequent wait for HoH pissed the fandom off. Thinking more about annabeth and leo siblings au,,,,, annabeth doesn’t really hate him,,like she does, but it’s not because of anything he did. he just kinda represents her deep seated fear of being replaced with a more docile and ‘better’ child. and it’s not like she can lash out at her dad’s new partner, so she’s resentful to the product of that partner ,,,,easier to hurt someone who has a lower status or is younger instead of the adult who is ‘proof’ that your dad is moving on and living his best life without the ‘baggage’ of a daughter,,,

I do think my biggest “Hail Mary” theory for TADC is that I don’t think it’ll end with the cast escaping the circus. I know that’s what everyone wants to happen (myself included lol) but I remember that gooseworx answered an ask about the shows theming and their response was something along the lines of “finding peace in a stagnant existence”.

That coupled with abstraction being bc the character abstracting focused too much on finding an escape instead of just being okay with their current line of being then maybe once the current members of the circus accept they’re just going to have to keep on existing then maybe they’ll start to find joy again etc etc.

If I could rewrite All In, I think my biggest change would be making frank less dickish. Like the more I stare at how I wrote him in it the more I hate it. Would’ve definitely kept a bit of antagonism to closer mirror canon, but I do think that if I did a rewrite, I’d have leo and Frank actually get over their animosity. They still wouldn’t be friends, but it wouldn’t be a total avoidance from both parties
