NO WORRIES I DON'T EVEN REMEMBER WHAT I SAID????????
OMG that legit is the actual description of their lives tho??? Like that's basically everything he does in life and is basically ~disgruntled about it 24/7 idek. OMG he would legit freak out tho & like run to the sink to wash his hands, if he ever learned that she'd once stolen a brain???? And basically wonder how his life came to this My hot sister stole a brain and I touched her at least once since then whyyyyyyy?????? basically. And then probs Fuck you, mom. Fuck you, dad. Just for good measure. ;DDD
Also, I'm trying to imagine his face if/when she actually said that out loud like I'M ACTUALLY DYING, RITA. He'd be like the whole gamut of emotion like THIS WEIRDLY TURNS ME ON/I'M TERRIFIED/DISGUSTED/CONFUSED/HORRIFIED/SCARED/THAT MAKES ME ANGRY/DEPRESSED/ALSO THAT ACTUALLY MAKES SENSE/TO MY...BRAIN/NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!! Though that probs explains alot of his thought process in general when it comes to her, tbh. ;DDDDD And he'd probs just be like 'WHAAAT?!!!' And generally look something like this:

The trick is to not let people know how really weird you are until it’s too late for them to back out.

Evening Haze
Everyday, as his alarm bleeted mercilessly from his bedside table, Shep lay in bed, staring at the ceiling, and wondering if today was the day he should finally quit. Most days, he decided it was. Nonetheless, as these days rolled by, somehow he never marched triumphantly into his boss's office and laid down the law, as he'd always imagined. Instead, he sat at his desk and goofed off and, at the end of the day, left confused: wondering why he neither quit nor was fired.
Today had been one such day, a day like any other, that sloughed by in a haze of forgetfulness until he was lost in somewhere in his own life and couldn't remember how he'd gotten there.
It was this same blank, reasonless state that brought him to Marcia's doorstep without hardly realizing it. Raising a fist, he knocked and waited, leaning against the doorframe, and hoping she was home, even though he wasn't at all sure she was.
