in third grade on the swing with my friend i announced “i figured it out” and my friend said “figured what out” and i said “the meaning of life!” and being third graders this was very exciting so she leaned in and i whispered in her ear “it’s to have fun” and i don’t remember her reaction but i remember how i felt and how i knew so clearly that was the answer. how my small mind was beaming and shimmering with this answer that makes me scoff today but i know that they were right. i was right

Spoke to a gen z person the other night and apparently the young folks don't know about the very legal sites from which you can access public domain media (including Dracula, The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, and other Victorian gothic horror stories)?

Like this young person didn't even know about goddamn Gutenberg which is a SHAME. I linked to it and they went "aw yiss time to do a theft" and I was like "I mean yo ho ho and all that, sure, but. you know gutenberg is entirely legal, right?"

i was at an event last night in california and i went to the bar to order wine bc wine was like, a thing, and i looked at the menu and saw i was completely out of my depth bc idk any wine names, so i turned to my right and there was a man in a gorgeous suit standing at the bar beside me and i said “do you know anything about wine?” and he said “a little, yes!” i told him i liked white and dry wines and asked if he’d order for me. he asked the server for two glasses and had one poured for each of us and then he clinked his glass on mine but he didn’t take a sip, he just watched me taste mine and then he asked what i thought and i said “it’s pretty good, but like i said, i wouldn’t know.” he laughed and told me to have a good time & i walked away. fifteen minutes later i found out he’s the winemaker.

genuinely think the most karmic ending for kipperlilly is to come back the same.

sure, there's a loss of control with coming back physically different, i've seen both headcanons and art of her coming back with hellish or abyssal traits, and that's incredibly cool and she would hate that! don't get me wrong.

but that would give her what she wanted. she'd have the trauma and backstory, she'd have something to show for it.

but imagine, you kill your only friends and then watch them get slaughtered in the failure of the plan you sacrificed them for. you get sent to hell yourself because the heroes who forgave countless others couldn't find anything redeemable in your actions and you can't even say you were forced to do those things because you chose it.

and then you get brought back, maybe by the best friend you killed or maybe by her replacement you murdered or maybe by the saint you hated so much you told her surrogate father you wanted to kill her; doesn't really matter.

because you're back, and you're whole and healthy and still so goddamn furious and despite everything you went through and everything you did you're still so ordinary
