The World of Throne of Glass Narrater
In an interview, Sarah J Mass said that “The World of Throne of Glass” is narrated by “a cranky old librarian”
What if it’s the cranky librarian is the priestess Merrill in ACOSF.
Merrill is a librarian in the the Court of Dreams AND she it is revealed that she is researching the different worlds. She also could be taken as cranky based on how she treats Nesta and Gwyn.
We know that the A Court of Thorns and Roses and Throne of Glass rhelms are connected when we see what appears to be Rhys and a heavily pregnant Feyre in Kingdom of Ash.
We know that “The World of of Throne of Glass” is a guide that included interviews of characters after the war, Perhaps it is Merrill’s study of the world, to better understand the religion, society and people who live there.

Where the HECK are the Palace Guards in Barbie as the Princess and the Pauper?
Seriously. Where are they?
How did Nick and Nack not raise suspicion while they where at the castle. They managed to lure Anneliese downstairs by making a racket, shaking Serifina who was trapped inside a cage.
And no one went to investigate? Despite the fact that it would have been loud, so Anneliese could here it from the next floor?
They also managed to waltz out of the palace with a huge sack. How did no one see them or stop them on their way out? Not to mention that unless they knocked her out as the put the sack over her head, she would have screamed.
AGAIN, why did no one come to investigate? And evidently no one noticed anything suspicious because they all seemed to believe she had simply run away.
Also. Why was Prince Dominick able to waltz up the Princess’s bedroom door while she was taking a bath? He is able to knock, open the door and peer inside (Side note: Does this man have no manners?). And no one so much as walks by as he stand there listening?

Does this kingdom have the bare minimum of guards? Or do they just genuinely not care? Are these incidents the result of a ton of people going “Not MY Problem” and ignoring what’s going on?
If the subjects are poor and the kingdom is not in a good spot financially, is the castle not at risk to be ransacked? So why are no guards at least checking out suspicious activity?
Who knows, perhaps the Queen has to minimize her staff because the kingdom didn’t have enough money to pay them. But, you would think that guards would be the last thing you would get rid of.
Whatever the case, for a castle, security is exceptionally poor.

The Aging of Darren Shan Part 3:
(Part 1) (Part 2)
Nobody mentions anything in regards to Darren ageing at the end of book 6, but the characters have other problems at that point. In book 7 chapter 4 Desmond Tiny tells Darren that he has grown older. This lines up with what Darren states in book 7 where he says that he has aged over his six years in the mountain.
However, it could be argued that Darren actually slowed down his aging process at the end of book 6 by becoming a prince. Larten states that the likely cause of Darren going through the purge so early was that he had more vampire blood introduced to his system due to his coronation. If he was about 3/4 vampire, he would age 1 year for every 7.5 years. If this is the case, than the aging Mr. Tiny mentioned would largely be due to him roaming around outside with no blood in book 6.
It has been shown that even a tiny bit of vampire blood will slow aging to some extent. (Larten discusses this with Darren in book 2, when Darren and Sam almost became blood brothers.) So, it could be inferred that extra blood Darren receives would affect his aging.
In general, the only person who really claims Darren looks pretty much the same is Darren himself. (That I could find anyway.) Make of that what you will.

The Aging of Darren Shan Part 2:
(Part 1)
The only people who would be able to tell if Darren looked older at the end of book 2 are Larten and Mr. Tall. From books 1-3 Mr. Tall and Larten never really comment on the subject of him aging.
You could argue that Evra and the rest of the Cirque saw him at the show in book 1. But, after two months it’s unlikely that they would remember what a single audience member that attended one out of dozens of shows looked like. Even if they did remember, it is unlikely they would clearly remember his face and how old he looked. (Unless they had an amazing memory, and even then they may think they simply mis-remembered how Darren looked).
By the time Darren arrives at the cirque he would have been without blood for 2 month, and (supposedly) aging quickly and not in greatest shape. The first solid memory the majority of the cirque members have of Darren is when he arrived.
So, those 0.2 to 0.6 years he would have aged that first week would probably be unnoticeable because he would simply seem to be healthy again. By the end of book 2, Darren begins drinking human blood and starts aging as he should. Therefore he would indeed, look the same from the end of book 3 to 5.

The Aging of Darren Shan: Part 1

If vampires age 20 to 30 years every year they don’t drink enough human blood, do half-vampires also experience accelerated ageing? If they do, we could assume that a half-vampire would age 10 to 15 years for every year. Therefore Darren would age anywhere from 0.83 years to 2.5 years to for every month he didn’t drink.
In book 1, Darren was running around for a couple of weeks without blood (the only time he drank was on the soccer field soon after he was blooded). Darren and Larten were travelling for about 2 months between books 1 and 2. Book 2 took place over a couple of days to maybe a week.
Darren would have been fine for the first month (chapter 4 book 2 states vampires have to drink human blood once a month), but after that, I’d wager that it started to affect him. If that’s the case, it’s likely that by the end of book 2 Darren appeared at LEAST a year older.
Did Darren age super fast in book 2 and just... not notice? Was Darren not to the point where it affected him? When you’re freshly blooded, is there some sort of benefit, where you and your body has time to adjust to drinking blood? Or are half-vampires not affected by accelerated ageing?
Additionally, in book 6 when Darren is running around outside the mountain, he definitely didn’t have access to human blood. It not entirely specific on how long Darren was out there but I don’t think a month or so wouldn’t be too unrealistic (If you count the days Darren keeps track of its at least 15, but he’s very vague so it’s probably more). If Darren hadn’t recently topped up on blood, it’s possible he began ageing faster than normal at this point as well.
When Darren breaks back into the mountain, did everyone pauses because it took a second to process that it’s him. Not because he’s dirty and covered in flour, but because this kid in front of them is taller and a little older than the one they lost.
