When I talk about how I don't like sex, it's so people like me can feel "more normal" and not so "broken". Not so everyone else can feel "less normal".

Can't believe we still have to say stuff like that all the time in any context of advocacy but this isn't about making things worse for you. It's about making stuff a little bit better for everyone so everyone can be seen. Not even necessarily understood. Just seen.

(PS: I don't wanna put a disclaimer on literally all of my posts to say I mean no ill to allo people. That should be implied. With that said, to all the allo people who DON'T react like that: thank you. Y'all give me hope.)

Alright I’ve seen like 40 posts with shit like this “as an aroace shut up and stop saying aroaces can’t date we can ship who ever you want stop saying that allos!!” So I have to say something

Now, the thing is I half agree. I agree that aspec people can date and have sexual / romantic / platonic (aplatonicspec is included in apsec people) relationships. That is 100% fine and you are 110% valid.

This is where it changes:

You can ship who you want, but if you are shipping a romance/sex/(platonic? Friendship-?) repulsed person SHUT THE FUCK UP AND LISTEN. Yes, there are exceptions to everything, however there is a line. you are playing fucking jump rope with it. Helicopter to be exact. You don’t care who gets hurt, you’re just having fun swinging it around.

Which is fine, in its own way, fandom is dolls after all. But let us have one character? Let’s not shove that ship down people’s throats? Let’s not make it main stream? Let’s not ship every single character you see? Thank you

A small, really petty, part of me wants to make a side blog for the sole purpose of finding posts with suggestive or nudity content* and telling the artist* to tag it properly.

Problem is the potential arguing, the fact that another part of me can't be bothered, and being sex repulsed ace.

*I would only do this on posts that aren't properly tagged.

*I would tell them CALMLY and RESPECTFULLY. Believe it or not, I don't think yelling at someone if they made a small mistake they're willing to fix is a solution.

If I were to do this, I would be fine with people sending me posts to ask on, and I would not post any names or information on anyone (because a lot of people don't understand what "don't harass people" means and also it wouldn't really help anything).

Also there's a good chance I may or may not do this regardless of the pole results depending on if I feel up for it.

I love how society in general is going in a more sex positive direction but then again as a sex repulsed asexual I just. Sigh.

Like I know it's good to not see it as taboo, but it is literally impossible for me to ever see sex as "just another thing people do". I will always get freaked out by sex in any media, I will always feel disgusted (hate to use that word but it's truly just what the feeling is) by naked bodies regardless of whether they're conventionally attractive or not. I don't even have any particular trauma relating to sexual stuff, I just don't feel comfortable around it, and I don't think I'll ever be able to.

Imo the statements "sex is just another thing people do, and it isn't inherently inappropriate" and "some people are not comfortable around sexual stuff or things they may perceive as sexual, and we have to be able to respect that" can and should coexist!!!

I am not a puritan for not wanting to engage in sexual stuff. I am just a sex repulsed asexual and that's okay. I can still respect people's autonomy too!

tl;dr just... respect people's induvial boundaries when it comes to sexual stuff. It's not very hard at all actually

While it’s considerate to include Sex neutral Asexuals, it does get VERY annoying when underneath every Asexual character theres a comment saying “Actually Asexuals can still have sex!” Many of us are uncomfortable with sexual topics, and this rhetoric sadly does often not consider that

If someone is uncomfortable with nudity, even if it isn't sexual, whether that be in real life or art of any kind for any reason, they should NOT have to see it.

Unless they are being stupid (as in saying it's inherently evil or something) with it, they are not a bad person and they do not have to "fix their attitude".

This is not me saying you can't draw what you want, all the power to you, I don't care. But for fuck's sake, TAG IT!! It won't hurt you or blow up any kittens to add a simple "nudity" or "nonsexual nudity" in your tags, I promise!!
