✨️💖Eposette Week 2025✨️💖

Eposette Week is back for 2025!

This year's Eposette Week will last from September 29th-October 5th 2025.

All fanworks are welcome- Fics, art, cosplays, playlists, gifsets, and anything else you can think of. As long as it has a focus on Eponine and Cosette, it's welcome!

This includes NSFW works, provided that they are tagged appropriately.

We ask that you refrain from using AI to create works, but apart from that run wild!

This is NOT solely a ship week. If you wish to create a gen/platonic work we would love to see it. The main thing is that the work is focused on the relationship between Eponine and Cosette, whatever that looks like for you :)

There will be optional prompts for the event, these will be posted in the coming weeks.

The tag for the event is #eposetteweek2025, the mods will be keeping an eye on it throughout the week. Because of tumblr famously being a functioning website, we also recommend you tag the blog @eposetteweek. BRICKTOBER 2025

Hi! Welcome to bricktober! i’m posting this a few months early, mainly out of my own impatience…but anyways! this post has all the main information to the event! so if you’re interested in participating, please take a read!

WHAT IS IT?

This is the les mis themed version of inktober, if you’re an artist or writer, you’re probably familiar with the concept of inktober or themed prompt lists in October at least, but for anyone who isn’t…This is an event where for the full 31 days of October there’s a prompt for everyday of the month for people to make creations with! You can search up in the tags for previous posts for an idea of how it goes!

HOW DOES IT WORK?

It’s pretty straight forward! When October rolls around (or more precisely, a few days before October so people can get prepared) i’ll be posting a new set of prompts for this year for people to take inspiration from.

I always try to get a good mix of different prompts, i do a main theme around les mis of course but for the spooky season i tend to mix in a few supernatural themes! although i keep them pretty vague for anyone who doesn’t celebrate and doesn’t want to make halloween specific stuff! You also don’t need to stick to the exact prompts here, they can be as closely or as loosely related to the prompts as you would like! It’s simply there for inspiration!

There is absolutely no set way to do this, take it at your own pace, do what you like!! You can take part in all 31 days if you want to give yourself that challenge, mix a few prompts from different days or just do any that take your interest! Make sure you take it all at a pace you’re comfortable with though, it’s nothing to risk burning yourself out with! Pick what interests you and have fun!

WHAT CAN I MAKE?

Anything! There’s no limits! You can create fanarts, fanfics, edits, collages, headcanon posts, cosplays or even fan mixes if you can find a way! Whatever you want, make it! I love to see what people come up with!

Anything NSFW or in need of anything filtering will be tagged so please make sure you add those warnings into your post!

HOW TO PARTICIPATE?

Easy! I simply ask for you to use the tag #Bricktober2025 and tag this blog! I will have posts queued 3-4 times a day so if it takes a little for yours to get posted, just know it will be in some time!

If i don’t see your post, PLEASE dm it or send it in the ask box! Last year at the beginning of the event it took a few days for submissions to start appearing in the tags and even then, some weren’t popping up for me so if you’re worried i haven’t seen yours, don’t hesitate to reach out!

I've been thinking of this AU for a while and so to celebrate @poetrysmashparty , here's a quick rundown of it! 😎

Studio Ghibli's "Castle in the Sky" AU, with Prouvaire as Sheeta/Lucita, and Bahorel as Pazu:

AU explanation down below!

Prouvaire as Sheeta because they're both rather shy, but extremely brave and capable. I think Prouvaire definitely gives a Descended-From-A-Magical (?)-Floating-Island-Clan vibe too, and what better introduction is there for him than to float down gently from the sky like a swooning angel?

Also, this scene where Sheeta stands in front of Muska as though she's facing a firing squad (and he does shoot her hair off!) reminds me very much of The End of the Verses of Jean Prouvaire.

Bahorel as Pazu because they're both incredibly hearty, passionate, and spirited. Acts before they think sometimes, but is still very smart (Pazu was literally building a whole plane! And Hugo describes Bahorel as having "a penetrating mind and was more of a thinker than appeared to view")

Bahorel fanonically is also often described as being quite strong and ripped, and damn if Pazu isn't the strongest boy alive 😭 he was ripping through walls biting people trying to get to Sheeta!

And lastly, though probably the most important detail of all: the ever-present anti-war, anti-military, and pro-enviromentalism themes throughout the film. Both Prouvaire and Bahorel are Romantics, and would thus be heavily connected to nature and the power that it wields (<- very shitty explanation of Romanticism, ik), which Sheeta and Pazu also embody, seen in their connections to the robots and creatures that inhabit the floating island. The love they have for all the flora, fauna, and magic the island holds outweighs the extreme power and riches it has, and they vehemently oppose the government and Muska who wants to use that for their own nefarious purposes. In the end, their greatest allies were the "villains" who opposed the military right from the start, going straight into becoming outlaws for the sake of saving and defending the island – quite similar, I believe, in Prouvaire's and Bahorel's roles in becoming revolutionaries to oppose the regime at that time.

Overall, I think Prouvaire and Bahorel would do FANTASTIC in "Castle in the Sky" 🙂‍↕️ getting to explore a floating nature paradise AND fight against the military? That's their lifelong dream 🫶 I only wish their canon counterparts had the castle robots to blast the National Guards clean off the barricade 😔

the thought of enjolras being a deer if he was an animal... because deer are generally graceful but can be dangerous (because of the antlers)... and enjolras was a charming young man capable of being terrible...

Favourite* Conclave (2024) ships and the corresponding Les Mis ships that they remind me of:

Lawrence/Benítez as Enjolras/Grantaire

OKAY HEAR ME OUT. This is more to do with the fact that they are each the most popular ships of their respective fandom and, imo, for very good reason. A lot of canon contextual information to justify at least some form of idolisation, one-sided or not. Some discourse already on too many fics written for these ships (which is arguably one of the funniest kinds of discourses) and lastly, my strongest argument for this: Benítez being the person to finally inspire faith in Lawrence, akin to what Enjolras does for Grantaire.

However, Lawrence is clearly miles better than Grantaire for many reasons, but mainly because he actually DOES HIS JOB and is a NICE PERSON and ACTUALLY GAINED THE RESPECT AND ADMIRATION OF HIS COUNTERPART. Grantaire should take some notes.

Lawrence/Bellini = Enjolras/Combeferre

Yes Lawrence switched from the Grantaire to the Enjolras role lol. Both ships inhabit the "close/long-time friend to lovers" trope and also have quite a bit of canon contextual info that makes their relationship pretty solid. The characters are also on the same political "side", though they hold different opinions and perspectives on it. Still, they are able to reconcile their differences. Additionally, both have, alas, been dragged into ship wars against the above ^ ships, which is kinda funny to me.

Let me digress for a moment bc omg I just remembered Bellini being described as the "great intellectual hope" for the liberals and if that isn't a succinct way of describing Combeferre wrt Les Amis too......however, Bellini WISHES he was badass enough to wield 3 guns and die on a barricade. Lawrence, meanwhile, has enough of a martyr complex for both him and Enjolras.

Bellini/Benítez = Combeferre /Grantaire

There is clearly One Guy linking them together and without him, they're kinda just like two cats suspiciously staring at the other. However, I have faith that they can hatefuck about it 😌

They each have 2 hands. Also a combination of all the above.

Benítez/Tedesco = Valjean/Javert

HEAR ME OUT AGAIN. Benítez and Valjean clearly being the Christ-like figures in their respective stories. Tedesco and Javert being the cruel, ignorant, harmful assholes that they are, who actually have a bit of backstory given to explain how they turned out this way (a bit more of an implied version for Tedesco though). And they're both interesting dynamics to explore, especially at the end of their stories when the Asshole gets knocked off their pedestal: in post-seine dynamics for Valvert, when Javert finally realises Valjean is a good man and gets into a funk about it; and in post-conclave dynamics for Benitesco, when Tedesco realises that God has chosen the radical Benítez as Pope, and gets into a funk about it too.

I also believe that Benítez and Valjean have a lot of pent-up anger regarding the very beliefs/politics their other half has pushed for most of their lives, which I think can be very fun to break down and explore how they react to that too, when they interact more with Tedesco and Javert. But whether they explore it in a healthy, safe, and sane manner is not something I can guarantee lol.

Sabbadin/Raymond O'Malley = Montparnasse/Prouvaire

These characters have not interacted at any moment of time in canon, and yet have built a small but mighty shipper fanbase 🫡. If one were to break them down into the bare bareeeebones fanon archetypes, they also fit the grumpy × sunshine trope. However, they obv have more character than that: Sabballey are each cunning, observant, and analytical, Jehan is incredibly intelligent and brave, and Montparnasse clearly has a ton of issues to get over (lol) ((sorry Monty fans, I haven't done much close analysis of him yet)). I'm a big fan of exploring possible dynamics between characters who have never interacted in their lives (cough enjolsette siblings), so this ship is a thumbs up for me 👍.

*"Favourite" being used to describe ships that I find have/can have an interesting dynamic, even if the dynamic might likely end up being extremely unhealthy and dangerous ones. I don't think most of these ships are going to be good for anyone involved (mostly bc they are. well. old Catholic priests or insurgents/criminals/cops), but I like exploring what might come out of it if they were to interact and develop a romantic/sexual/obsessive interest in one another. I also like thinking of them in platonic/queerplatonic contexts too, and so don't take this as me only viewing them through a romantic lens (<- said aroace-ly)

Rest peacefully, little Omar

It is with a broken heart that we have to share the worst news imaginable with the NGU community. This weekend, the IOF bombed the neighborhood of Yahya Al-Habil and his family. Little Omar, Yahya’s 7-year-old brother who we have mentioned often, was martyred.

Both Yahya and his brother Mohammed are being treated in different departments for the severe injuries they sustained from this attack, and did not get the chance to say goodbye to Omar. They now urgently need $5,000 usd to continue treatment and hopefully stabilize their critical conditions.

Please share their story and donate anything you can to their campaign- this family cannot handle another loss.

people on here act like saying sexwork isnt 1:1 with working at mcdonalds means u hate women when the distinction is needed bc unlike a mcdonalds employee a sex worker can be imprisoned for doing her job, unlike someone working at target a sex worker cannot unionize for better wages, unlike the person who hates working at walmart the sex worker cannot report her boss* (*client) to the department of labor when they refuse to pay her or underpay her at risk of being fined and bc of having to pay said fine so she misses rent and becomes homeless thus forcing her back to sex work with the risk of jail all over again…..like we can say sex work is work and still advocate for people who do it in a way that acknowledges reality, plugging ur ears and saying there is no difference between someone working at applebees and someone who works the streets is not helpful, yes we are all exploited under capitalism, no you a popeyes employee are not the same as someone who risk being thrown in the back of a cop car for doing sex work while trying to support her two kids bc she has a felony due to prostitution on her record cant get a “regular” job, yall allow zero nuance and reality into these discussions and it helps no1
