Now NORI. She almost definitely finds out thru another "accident" with N where Uzi loses control, and like everyone else is extremely uncomfortable about the whole thing. Thing is, it wasnt the solver that trapped and experimented on her, so its less the fear of being controlled and more "oh no girl has no idea what shes doing this will not end well"

Obviously, the best thing to do is to get uzi to practice on someone partially immune! Surely Patched by Yeva, Nori would be safe for uzi to try out her powers on.

She is right, buuut nori forgot to consider Uzi's feelings. Taking over your mom you just got back using the same powers that mutilated you and your friends like a dozen times over, thats horrific to even consider. lets just say that idea is dropped shortly after its brought up.

Love the colours in this one, is probably my favourite of all today’s! Remember in this post how I mentioned two other Aus based off my au - this is one of them. I won’t go too in depth, but it’s a city at war style thing between the foot and the Hamatos (in my notes I refer to it as Lita’s timeline)

Rolando got his first piercings when he was a teenager!

Around when he was 18, he had met his best friend, or right hand man as they would say, Autumn! Autumn kiiind of influenced a lot of how Rolando acts today. And that included the piercings. XD He has 2 in his left ear, and 4 in his right ear!

Ooooh, now that’s an interesting question!! …Honestly, I can’t even imagine under what circumstances they would meet! I wish I could make up a whole entire scene, because that’d be more fun… but I’ll just give their impressions!

Estevan would really admire Marcus and Jack, both being older men who take their work quite seriously and have a good reputation in the community! Estevan really admires that kind of thing! Not to mention Marcus is in law enforcement, just like Estevan!! I think Estevan would see how meek and hesitant Chris seems and immediately take a guess that his personal life isn’t so great. Estevan is a major people pleaser and he just cannot help himself but feel the need to get in someone’s business and try to help them get better XDD (He won’t do so for himself though XD)

Rolando somehow thinks he can outmatch Marcus when the guy has like 85 more pounds than him LOL Really, Rolando just likes a good challenge. Which is why... Rolando gets pissed at people who are clearly holding back on him, so that’s why he’s angry at Chris for seemingly no reason! He sees it as that person thinking he’s weak XD Rolando would kind of be able to “sense” the stench of death all over Jack. It’s not something he always consciously acknowledges or cares to acknowledge. It’s something that he can pick up on in the back of his mind, so he probably wouldn’t mention his discovery to anyone.

I know I didn’t draw any of the other characters, because, honestly, I just had no idea what to say XD

If Jason found out about Jack’s hobbies… That’s a good question! Oh man, I have no idea. XD Jack says he would never kill Alice and Jason… But if it came down to that… would it still be true? I’d say maybe… I think Jack would be horrified. Maybe it wouldn’t set in immediately… But I think Jack would just knock Jason out and immediately escape, cutting off all contact with everyone. Of course Jack doesn’t want anyone to find out about it… But I imagine it’d kill him if his family ever got involved in what he does…

SO, lets start this weird hybrid blog with a drawing about one of the most recent dreams I had.

This little creature is supposed to be "The Antagonist" Aka, Not Important (or Jokingly "Nottem"), the Protagonist from the game "Hatred", in my dream he was this type of weird, Sanrio like Alien that had no visible mouth and kinda looked like how i drew him here.

The funny thing is that he always went non-verbal whenever i tried to talk to him but with everyone else he talked a bit like normal (he probably hated everyone tho, normal stuff)

The dream basically started because I went to a field where I found a burrow and Nottem, when I left there, he started following me like baby ducks and no matter how hard I tried to separate him, he Didn't go away, so in the end I gave up.

And here things get bad, very bad, because inside the dream when the Alien was already leaving his adolescent phase and transitioning to being an adult (let's assume he was still a minor), some neighbors started bullying him, and although not important wasn't interested in the insults (because let's be honest, the guy doesn't give a damn about anything), he was already getting Feed up that those guys wouldn't leave him alone for a day, Then these guys invited him to a party that was starting at night, I immediately told Nottem not to go but he went to the party secretly, which ended horribly since during the party they took advantage of him, in addition to that they began to humiliate him by putting on him a watermelon-pink red dress and details that honestly I am not going to investigate since in itself this whole part is summed up in a quite graphic display of sexual abuse, After that Nottem fled from the party, the last thing that happened (which for me was the worst) was that I woke up hearing noises in the kitchen, there I saw Nottem standing at the entrance to the bathroom and my first reaction was to look at the floor, there was a small pool of blood with a trail that led to Nottem because his legs had cuts at the level of the thighs and the skirt of the dress had stains, especially one which was staining the skirt more, exactly in the crotch area and when I looked at Nottem's face I could see his expression between a quite acute pain (both physical and probably emotional) and his hands were shaking.

well, while you don't know anything abt portal yet, i can show you and yap about my other MTT au that i literally never talked about, tehehe

apocalypse au! yay! long story short the end of the multiverse happened and everything went to shit because of some weird corruption that spreads through code.

it's more often passed through battle system. so if you encounter an infected, you either gotta dip immediately, oneshot or fight it outside of battles (my other hc that there are 2 types of combat: Battles like in the UT, with menus and turns, they are more common among monsters and most aus, and Fights, which are just normal irl fights and you can't really use attack patterns for them, since you're not in a box anymore).

i have 2 timelines for it, one where MTT work for Nightmare, and one where they're on their own and are fucking around together.

in both they are one of the first to discover that Fights are way safer and more effective against the infected. why? because they're (Kist, mostly) freaks like that and take advantage of most people expecting a fair Battle, only to get stabbed. also they just fight each other a lot for the pettiest reasons.

Kist designs:

Dust is the sniper/one shoter, because he has more magic out of the 3. mfer uses straight up magic as bullets or GB spam to kill. i gave him a sniper rifle because he's smart enough to figure out how to make his magic behave like bullets to not bother with reloading and finding ammo. (i love Dust with a gun)

Killer is the close-mid range fighter and has a shitton of different blades and knives on him. Dust gave him a handgun as a treat and plan B once, and immediatelly intruisive thoughts won and he shot himself with it to test how it feels. Dust was. not amused.

no Horror design because i can't draw that guy💔 but he rarely fights, mostly just carries shit and scouts. if he does fight, it's close range. he's a heavy hitter, but tires himself out very quickly.

also also aslo! yk why Killer has no SOUL on the art? since Horror's kinda immortal, he can handle Killer's DT levels and not melt, he keeps it in his ribcage to cover Killer's very obvious weak point in fights.

Infection:

Andy is immune. This essentially means that the worms cannot eat through his organs like they usually would do to a host, because of a thick layer of mucus Andy has surrounding his insides.

At first, Andy believed that the worms would leave his body once realizing he was uneatable, but that was not the case. In fact, it makes Andy an even more perfect host, as the Mother Worm can latch to his brain and mess up his emotional regulation/general functioning, while the colony of worms in his torso and intestines can live and feed off of the food that Andy eats. This causes Andy to not get as much food as he eats, as a bunch of it is taken and eaten by the worms before he can properly digest it.

The Mother Worm that affects his brain and functions causes him to get a variety of symptoms. One of these symptoms is cannibalistic tendencies. The worms feed off of meat only, it doesn’t matter what meat but there is a preference for human flesh. Once the Mother Worm latches onto his brain, Andy gradually gets hungrier and hungrier. It doesn’t help that the worms are eating most of his food intake before proper digestion. The Mother Worm also messes up his emotional regulation, causing him intense mood swings involving mostly depressive states and intense rage. When he gets into a deep rage like state, it is typically caused by overwhelming hunger. This is when he gets desperate and starts to hurt things. It is not unlikely for him to pounce onto a living creature and rip it apart with his bare hands and teeth, just to eat something. It doesn’t matter what or who it is, as long as it’s meat.

This doesn’t get extremely intense often, especially because of Gene. Gene, who believes Andy to be a Prophet or a God because of his immunity and tendencies, kills living creatures in order for Andy to eat, even cooking and serving the food up properly. He also will cut off parts of his own body, mutilating himself, if they are in a situation where he cannot get Andy food from another source. He even believes it to be an honor to do so, and he takes joy in it.

I’m taking a little break from the guys in Zareen and putting some ocs in different kingdoms too. And yeah it’s more elves and similar, those are easy to draw and all

Strata and Helena grew up in Mogdir and are descendants of Yue’s little sister Curlinita. They don’t really care about being related to a divine, though their mother Esmeralda used to go on adventures with Yue but she’s dead now. They’re half-sisters half cousins, because after Strata’s father died, his brother comforted Esmeralda a little too hard which led to her getting pregnant with Helena. Strata was born with 13 fingers and weird double-pointed ears and Helena with 6 toes on each foot. Their fathers both had their own extra digits removed as kids but Esmeralda insisted on keeping Strata and Helena's because she believed they were lucky, and they think they’re pretty cool too.

Strata moved to Matuzu for higher education and is now a linguist working for the World Athenaeum specializing in dead and unknown languages from before Universa was created. Also is a demigirl and she/they because yes. Strata also likes embroidery and puzzle toys like rubik's cubes or burr puzzles or whatever they’re called here, and has a pet jungle gryphon named Umbra who they let stand on their head. I like to think jungle gryphons come in different breeds so they’re probably not all colorful.

And judging by the chest symbol she’s a Middayist, that was just from her old designs but I guess that would explain it. Most of her family aren’t though.

Helena still lives in Mogdir, she’s an adult book writer and her books are infamous for their long and imaginative torture scenes. Of course that makes them pretty controversial and Helena has been accused of being a nasty freak for decades, which is why she’s now a hermit living in the woods not interacting much with people and never reads her fan mail. She does definitely have a sadism fetish but doesn’t really mutilate people or anything, even if she thinks about it all the time. She and Strata haven’t talked in years either but that’s because they dislike each other in general.

Saku is a faun working in a cafe near where Helena lives and basically the only one she likes interacting with. He’s a total doormat, especially towards Helena who he has the big hots for and will pretty much agree to anything for her. So they’re friends with benefits (Helena doesn’t want to commit to a bigger relationship) and Saku is kind of a masochist so of course they do some freaky shit on his break. Don’t worry it’s totally consensual but sometimes she hits him a little hard and he can’t complain.

And yeah his antlers go through his cloak. In mogdir there’s a cloak guy making cloaks that have hidden little slits just for people with horns/antlers who want to wear cloaks

Ster & Loren & Penhoven: Ster and Loren are the king and queen of Redfox, Unseelie and Penhoven is their adopted drau daughter because they needed to have an heir. They married for pragmatic reasons (because they found each other hot basically) and burned down the house of the previous rulers and forcibly took their land cuz that’s all you need to gain power in Unseelie. Morgause hasn’t felt like killing any of them yet so it’s all fine and dandy.

Ster is an elf and is yet another constantly grumpy all the time guy and is hella powerful at tele magics, he will telepathically scream at you until you go insane or just teleport your organs out of your body if you don’t call him your majesty. He might also be related to Yue I'm not sure. Loren is an adhene with fire magic and will shoot a fireball at you if you piss her off, which is pretty easy. Penhoven is less mad than her parents, she likes having fun times and dog blood parties with zombies (tea parties are for Seelie sissies), and they spoil her a lot. There’s also Fizzy, their pet pink fuzzy worm monster forged by Yue when she visited them once. It looks silly but they love it (as much as monsters can) and declared it the national animal of Redfox even though there’s only one because the previous ruler’s pet fox bit Loren and now they outlawed foxes. They would try to change the city’s name to Pinkworm if they weren’t scared of annoying Morgause.

They even have a holiday similar to Groundhog Day in Ster & Loren's Redfox. When Fizzy comes out of its den on this day, if it sees its shadow, nobody is allowed to do spring cleaning or wear colorful clothes for another month. Nobody disrespects The Worm, it's the law

Ruukku is a rich maenad living in Matuzu who is a Model Citizen™, only drinks her wine at mealtime and doesn’t slut around. She’s a kids book author & illustrator, they’re like those old wholesome kids books with pretty painted illustrations of cute kids and animals like little golden books or something. Ruukku only likes classical music and grows roses in her garden, and she’s not royalty, but just wears a crown because she’s rich. She’s basically the anti-Helena, in fact a few decades ago when Helena still read her fan mail, Ruukku sent her an angry letter talking about how her books are highly inappropriate and she needs to stop making them this instant and be ashamed. Helena’s petty ass sent her back a long fanfic of some critters from Ruukku’s sappiest books getting gruesomely tortured to death. Of course that didn’t go well and Ruukku sent an evil angrier letter, and now they’re basically angry pen-non-pals. Helena actually looks forward to Ruukku’s letters because she thinks it’s hilarious so those are the only ones she won’t throw away. Ruukku probably knows by now that Helena won’t change, but she finds it an interesting relationship anyway. Basically writing to Helena is a guilty pleasure for her now since she has her reputation as a wholesome child friendly writer.

hi I think I already left an ask about this but I'm gonna do it again lol

sooooo... im pretty sure I already said that william is gonna die at some point in the au, but I think I've figured out why + how. unfortunately the trickster still exists in this au so I'm thinking that he gets killed by it? maybe??? like they're still gonna fight overlord and have the trickster happen, so I'm thinking that maybe this time the fight takes place on a rooftop. where everyone can see it. it's totally broadcast to the news too. william, having no powers, tries to stay out of sight and help from the sidelines. that is, until ashe gets possessed. (maybe the same way as in canon? maybe not?) something happens, and they end up trying to fight the trickster immediately. wiwi gets targeted because he's weak(I guess?) and gets uh. more or less speared through the heart and sent off the side of the building. fun!

so now vyncent and dakota have lost two(2) friends in the same battle. so they're... probably not doing well. anyway, they get distracted by trying to save william or at least see where he fell, and the trickster escapes while they're distracted.

meanwhile, william is in the spirit world. talking to mal. skip ahead a bit, he gets sent back to prime, but in his wisp form. (like his death in season one). and unfortunately for him, his body is. kinda destroyed. so he can't go back to it. he's still visible and tangible, he s just stuck in his wisp form (and looks pretty different. like the way I draw his wisp form) vyncent and dakota find him freaking out over his dead body and don't recognize him at first, and he doesn't know he doesn't look like...him. yet.

(also his parents totally saw him die on live television!!! it was probably censored, but still!!! messed up!!!)

Case: In an episode I always get mixed up with Shadows (Shadows is better)—and one that David Duchovny is quoted as "detesting"—a little girl, Michelle, is found outside alone on the streets of Buffalo, NY, when she gets picked up by a cop and taken back to the station. While there, two detectives, Lazard (which I keep wanting to spell as Lizard) and Barbala interview her. Lazard leaves the room briefly, and in that time, Barbala gets launched through the window and gets pancaked onto the ground. The sanest assumption is that Barbala chose that moment to commit suicide, which still doesn't make any sense, but there's no way anyone else could have gotten inside without Lazard noticing, and Michelle couldn't have done it, bc she's just a little girl... right??

Hence the X-File. Mulder and Scully, and their team of deeply, deeply New York-sounding episode NPCs work together to figure out who killed Barbala. But as another bizarre death occurs, and weird coincidences start to pile up, Mulder starts to suspect that Michelle might be experiencing memories from a past life, as is the conclusion any sane and rational person would immediately jump to.

Does someone die in the cold open: Yes. Concrete pancake with a side of bacon.

Does Mulder present a slideshow: No, he's still recovering from the shame from last episode. (Jk, Mulder doesn't feel shame. Well. At least not about stuff like that. Shame and guilt about who he is as a person and the impact he has on the people he loves? That, he has in abundance, but that's neither here nor there.)

Does the evidence survive the investigation: Ig, but none of it was particularly good evidence to begin with.

Whodunit: A dead guy avenging his death by channeling himself through a creepy little girl using telekinesis. Probably.

Convictions: The one guy who doesn't die gets arrested for murdering Charlie Morris, AKA, who Michelle was in a past life or something.

Did they solve it: Maybe. The murder of Charlie Morris is solved, but that wasn't what they were investigating. They were investigating Barbala's death, and while Mulder and Scully but mostly Mulder can speculate on whether or not Michelle killed him (and if so, then how?), they have no definitive proof. (Also, cherry on top, Scully literally calls the status of the case "unexplained" at the end of the episode, so she agrees with me.)

Hello, this account is modded by @sir-qwillian-ferne ! This is a roleplay blog for my favouritest little guy, Avemour. A couple things to be aware of off the bat!

General Character Info

Avemour is a 7 foot tall false angel* who uses any pronouns with no preference. They are the oldest of the Farlyxe children, however, would be the last to have any right to the throne due to the circumstances of their birth.

He is very social and polite, enjoying being around people and desiring nothing more than to make sure others are happy and safe. She often comes off as naive and childish, due to her optimistic behavior.

Avemour can sense emotions! There can be exceptions made if that makes you uncomfortable, but I'd like to find a lore reason to explain it.

* false angels are a term used for many species created by the mod. These species feed off emotional energy, rely on magic methods to survive, and often resemble angels in some way or another.

did you guys understand what i meant in my tragedy of the psychic warfare post when i said i will not be your banner. i need to make sure you understood because just the thought of it has been genuinely fucking me up ever since. i just. denethor definitely knows the story of the end of the second age, and more specifically, what banner the armies of sauron carried onto the battlefield. and if you need a refresher, its celebrimbor’s dead body. tortured and mutilated and probably stripped naked (someone fact check me on that one) and stuck on a standard to be carried into battle. and. well. god i cant even say it. even thinking of it makes me visualize it in my head and i genuinely get nauseous. ok just. if gondor falls denethor’s death will not be easy. he has been too much of a thorn in sauron’s side for far too long. and. alright you draw the Logical Conclusion from the facts ive presented while i go and cry for a minute.

now sauron has famously had a lot of enemies, and yet he only did the banner thing once. so you might ask well what’s my rationale for thinking he might do it again? well pure sick deranged angst of course. but i do have AN argument although i do not promise it is bulletproof.

i think that he chose to do it to celebrimbor as a final act of desecration. he’s taken the rings they made together and all of the art of their creation and corrupted them and used that great craft to forge a tool solely of domination. he’s tortured him, personally, to death. and THEN he turns his body into a banner and marches on the last alliance. its an act of specific psychological horror every elf on that battlefield knows exactly who that is, hanging from the standard.

and denethor? well - sauron destroyed numenor, did he not? not directly, but i think he claims it as his victory because otherwise the loss of his fair appearance and his physical form to the alkallabeth would be too heavy of a blow to his ego lol. and now here is this man - nay, this numenorean, who is the first person in centuries who has dared vie with him directly. who not only contests him mentally but HOLDS OUT, for DECADES, where saruman, also a literal maia, greatest of the order of the wizards, could not. who poses a genuine threat to him, while also standing as a bulwark between him and the rest of middle-earth. denethor’s entire existence fucks with him so much. because he thinks oh, numenor was easily corruptible. men are easy to enslave or turn to my will. and then here is denethor, single-handedly proving him wrong. by the end of the war sauron has so many sick revenge fantasies against him in his head. i really don’t think its too much of a stretch to think that bannering him is one of them.

further...i also think part of the thing with choosing celebrimbor is that the final battle was upon them. it was sort of expedient. well i need a banner for this battle and CONVENIENTLY i also have this guy i hate whom ive tortured. and what is sauron going to do once gondor falls? march on the rest of middle-earth. with the lord of its first line of defense, its forlorn hope, as. well you see what i mean. i typed it out and then HAD to delete it.

and oh my GOD he KNOWS. AND HE KNOWS!!! HES SEEN HIMSELF ON THAT STANDARD!!! I FEEL! I FEEL!!!! anyway yeah i picture it and i wish for death!

I’ve decided to make my own rewrite of alternate Gabriel and put him in a new original story, in light of recent events

[Warning: long post]

Basically, Gabe (as he is now called) is the subject of a painting created by an artist who unknowingly has the power to bring his artwork to life. Gabe loved it when his creator called him the most beautiful thing he’d seen and when the artist moved on to other projects, the painted angel basically went mad with jealousy.

Breaking free from his canvas, Gabe began corrupting the artist’s other paintings, turning them into twisted, monstrous images. When the horrified artist saw what was happening, he decried Gabe as a monster. Heartbroken and furious that his creator rejected him, Gabe killed the man and used his blood to create a new painting; a portrait identical to his dead creator, one that would be eternally loyal to him.

Gabe’s second in command, simply known as Edward (an expy of Six/the Intruder), still retains the skills of an artist and the mysterious powers he possessed before his murder. He creates more disturbing minions for his master, all while passing them off as ‘horror art’.

The vast majority of these art pieces fall into the hands of an eccentric rich man named Zekiel Thomson, who adds them to his vast collection. This guy’s so rich he has his own private art gallery that he shows off to all his wealthy socialite friends. After installing the ‘horror art’, however, things begin to take a turn for the worse.

First, mysterious music is heard in the night; the sickly sweet sound of a harp and the operatic voice of an angel. The last person to awaken to its sound is found dead the next day, mutilated and - most disturbingly - with a significant amount of blood missing.

As more and more of these mysterious murders unfold, Zekiel is plagued by nightmares in which Gabe’s demonic underlings are tormenting him. He resorts to hiring a detective named Vincent Truman, who’s something of a theology/occult enthusiast.

The main framing sequence of the story is told through Vincent’s notes on the case, as he goes from being sceptical of Zekiel’s credibility to finding himself in a tangled web of mass murder and blood magic, to standing face to face with the devil himself, The Painted Angel, Gabe.

I haven’t yet decided on a title for this story, but I quite like the sound of The Painted Angel. The Peculiar Case of Zekiel Thomson is another potential title, although it is a little wordy.

Also I decided to set the whole thing in England bc that’s a pretty good place for haunted paintings and unexplained phenomena. Adds a gothic feel to the whole thing too.

Kinda toying with the idea of frequently switching between different POVs between chapters but I don’t want it to get confusing. I guess that once I have the entire story mapped out it should be fine.

There’s going to be recurring themes of facing one’s inner demons, unprocessed trauma and self worth. Elements of the horror game Layers of Fear, an old Victorian story titled The New Mother, Skinamarink and Motion Picture Soundtrack by Radiohead are also going to be worked into the project.

I haven’t yet decided if this is going to be a straight up novel or a comic yet. My ability to draw is…inconsistent at best. I feel like the story might work better with some accompanying visuals, though.

But yeah that’s my thoughts so far. I have had bits and pieces of this project in my drafts for a while but I had no idea what to do with it. I think this could probably tie it all together.

Now I need to get some sleep bc I am exhausted. Lmk what you think of this idea and feel free to suggest any potential titles.

honestly the shigeo kageyama lookin ass actor aside banda is probably the one who offends me the least here because it's. kind of hard to get banda wrong?

I think he falls a little bit into chishiya syndrome with how this final reveal seems to imply that he knew from the beginning that Matsushita was the jack, whereas in the manga he seemed to just be fucking around.

Banda is Yaba's foil -- instead of wanting to keep playing the games because he is so successful at reality he needs something new to conquer, Banda is someone who thrives in the death games, as it is somewhere the rules to society no longer apply.

Alot of what makes his character feel weak is just things that the whole cast suffers -- a lack of screentime, lack of internal monologue/backstory and the melting pot of story points which overall make his actions less impactful (e.g. giving seto a knife vs telling seto to lie)

And while I will say it is not this actor's fault for being too pretty he is not helping the vibes. Not once did I feel like show banda was intimidating or offputting he's kinda just

This probably goes without saying but there are extreme spoilers for crying wolf below the cut

1: What inspired you to write the fic this way? My recent obsession with vivisection, dissection and cannibalism <33 I know I'm very good at falling into stereotypes and I'm your local transmasc butch unhealthily obsessed with cannibalism <33333

The noirpunk server did, in all honesty. I don't know what I'd do without you guys.

2: What scene did you first put down? The very first scene! I write generally chronologically, unless there's something I'm raring to get down!

3: What’s your favorite line of narration? He pulls back, unable to staunch the hysterical giggles building in his chest, and they tumble free like the intestines of a mutilated fox at the side of a road -- all bloody ropes thick with mucus.

I just like this comparison lol. A close second would be the line about Peter's organs being better to eat than the pigeon.

4: What’s your favorite line of dialogue? “Oh, I know you’re on the square, doll. I don’t think you’ve ever lied to me.” 

I really love this line because I love blatant foreshadowing. But also because in the previous line, Hobie really wasn't lying (as is shown later on).

5: What part was hardest to write? The scene directly before the first cannibalism scene. I'm never too sure how to draw it out and build the tension in the proper way and I'm not entirely too sure I managed it.

6: What makes this fic special or different from all your other fics? It's absolutely dripping with paranoia, a lot of what is drawn from my own paranoia (where are my insane babes at ik we're around here somewhere). And also it's one of my most violent fics. Didn't tend to write it before now but I'm really enjoying messing around with it now!

7: Where did the title come from? I was brainstorming with myself after I told the people in the discord that I would try to write something approximating what we'd cooked up together and it took a while (probably about half an hour) before I hit on the story of the boy who cried wolf.

In this context, the boy crying wolf is Peter, whose spider senses are so fucked up that he tends to ignore them when he implicitly trusts people -- which means that when that person isn't in their right state of mind, he dismisses any notion that there might be something wrong.

Simultaneously, the crying wolf is Hobie, who is by far the more dangerous one of them, having been possessed by an actual murderous cannibalistic alien, but who is in much more denial about it. (Literally in the scene where he kills and eats Peter, he refuses to accept what's happened, whereas Peter just told him that it was going to be okay. Both of them are Fucked Up okay.)

Anyway this was a long-winded way of saying that it came from a children's story lol

8: Did any real people or events inspire any part of it? Yeah!!! In the early days of the noirpunk discord server, we were chucking around the vague idea of symbiote Hobie, throwing out a few vignette scenes and pieces of dialogue, and it was so compelling to me that I said I'd take a crack at it, so here we are! Thanks guys!

9: Were there any alternate versions of this fic? AHAHAHAHHAAHAHHAHAHA

Yes. I have an alternate ending kicking around in my head at the moment that I'll probably start with once I'm finished with whumptober and another couple of things I've promised people I'll do </3 the adhd is real you guys

10: Why did you choose this pairing for this particular story? UM?? BECAUSE NOIRPUNK????????

Because this idea was thought up in the noirpunk server with noirpunk in mind and it would have been a disservice to write this pairing as anything other than noirpunk. And also I wanted to give Peter more cannibalism trauma. And at the moment noirpunk is the only thing keeping me sane (which I mean in a very real and worrying way. We ball.)

11: What do you like best about this fic? I got to write cannibalism under the guise of love :>

12: What do you like least about this fic? Um. Am I allowed to say my writing. If not, then I know there are plotholes and pieces of lore about the worlds and the symbiotes that don't make sense. Consider: I wanted to write cannibalism.

13: What music did you listen to, if any, to get in the mood for writing this story? Or if you didn’t listen to anything, what do you think readers should listen to to accompany us while reading? I listened to a lot of Tunng, Troy Kingi and Arab Strap!!

Mostly from Tunng I was listening to a lot of their album Dead Club and out of those were my favourites of Eating the Dead, Man and also Woman (the last two of which are spoken word poems but I choose to treat them as music because they are <333)

Troy Kingi specifically Sleep (Slumber), First Take Strut, and No Reason to 2nd Guess M.G.

Arab Strap specifically The Turning of our Bones, Here Comes Comus! and The Fable of the Urban Fox.

Sleep (Slumber) was looped specifically for scenes where I needed them to be soft with each other. The Turning of our Bones was looped specifically for the cannibalism. Please watch the music video (don't if you're sensitive to gore) because it's actually one of my favourite things in the world.

14: Is there anything you wanted readers to learn from reading this fic? HUNGER AS A METAPHOR FOR DEVOTION. or there might just be a parasite eating your brain lol

Just kidding. Hm. Sometimes we go through something in our lives that's horrific. And we're trying to process it and not getting anywhere because it's so huge that our brains can't wrap themselves around it. Most of the time, we start to convince ourselves that it's us at the core of the problem. Sometimes we are. But to peel back the layers and get to the actual center, there are almost always outside forces that influence us into certain behaviours/choices that we regret later. And that's part of being human!

I'm not saying that you have a parasite in your brain that's making you eat your romantically inclined partner. I'm saying that the love shown in crying wolf is a relatively equal balance of give and take. They try to be as their worlds have shown them that love is, they're unlearning some of the more detrimental things, they're learning and growing together. They take steps back from each other when they need to and try to navigate their situations as well as they can. Idk.

Forgiveness is probably one of the main themes here. Please be gentle with yourself. It's so so important that you are.

15: What did you learn from writing this fic? That I really enjoy writing cannibalism. And that I need to watch a hell of a lot of 30s nyc films and 70s london films because I STILL don't have their turns of phrases down and it's annoying me.

And to take the leap (haha itsv references). This fic was very overwhelming for me at first because I don't tend to write very fast-paced or violent stuff. But I really enjoy reading it and so I really wanted to write it! Even if it isn't that great, I had a blast writing it!
